  1. Yeah and even me with going during prime tourist times I’m spending less than $2000 or that’s my goal. But like you I want to go to as many ports as possible. If I do a cruise tour then I expect it to go up. But I want it less than $3500. That includes food, drinks, and excursions.
  2. Don’t get me wrong I love Seattle! But not affordable now at all and very different from when I was living there. And the Seattle itineraries (on the cruise lines I can afford)are not that great and I don’t like the idea of not going through the inside passage.
  3. Yeah I was thinking about that as an option too.
  4. This one looks great on the Sapphire! And it’s pretty much the B2B in 2024! so I have a lot of time to plan and save! 5. I’m also maybe going to wait for a year to do this so I can really save and plan it really well. And maybe do what you suggested a B2B.
  6. Do you think this is a good itinerary? I’m okay with the one way etc. I’m a pro traveler. And sorry for all the questions. I just feel like you kind of know what I’m looking for…

  8. Thank you! This is very helpful! I am not a swimmer so a pool doesn’t matter to me.
  9. Thanks! I prefer smaller ships too especially for Alaska because I’m there for Alaska not the ship. The ones I’ve been thinking about are the Grand or Crown.
  10. @Coral do you have a favorite ship with Princess?
  11. Same and I looked at both of the cruises and whoa. As an educator there is no way I can afford those as a solo. And not as many amenities as the other lines I have looked at and Princess has long Port times compared to others too.
  12. Okay good to know. However the ships I would be looking to go on with NCL don't have the studios. But this makes sense and once again probably depends on the itinerary. But I am definitely leaning towards Princess but wish they had the Vancouver RTs in 2024 and not the San Francisco ones.
  13. I feel like Princess feels different on what the sailing/itinerary is such as Alaska and or Europe. I feel like those might have more solos. I think that NCL is considered solo friendly because they have solo studios ETC. But I think it truly is up to the individual.
  14. Thanks for you detailed response. I grew up in Seattle area and I personally have no desire to spend time there and really don't want a RT from there. And I am leaning towards Princess because the amount of time I am in a port. NCL would be my second choice on a OW North or Southbound. I would love to be on one of the smaller ships as you listed but I am an educator and my budget is much smaller than those can allow me to spend. Thank you for your input though! It is much appreciated.
  15. Also one other thing I noticed for June-Aug in 2024-no Sitka. So that is interesting. I guess I better start saving big time for Aug 2023!
  16. That 11 night looks fantastic! I might research it a bit more. Also I feel like Princess is a good compromise for a solo traveler. Especially for Alaska and or Europe. I feel like the mix of other passengers is good. And the prices seem fair too.
  17. Yeah I don't want to go from San Francisco. I would much rather spend time in Vancouver or do the OW North or South bound. I really like the 10 Day RT on the Crown Princess. 18. Oh that’s good to know. I’m liking the itineraries for Princess a lot. Looks like 2023 has the Vancouver RT for 10-11 days but in 2024 it’s from San Francisco. Hmmm…
  19. Oh thanks for this tip! Super helpful. I will definitely look at Princess!
  20. Oh that sounds wonderful! I am looking at one in 2024 One way on Celebrity Summit and it’s during my birthday. Itinerary • Day 1: Vancouver - British Columbia Fri Jun 21, 2024 | Depart 05:00 PM • Day 2: Inside Passage (Cruising) Sat Jun 22, 2024 | • Day 3: Ketchikan - Alaska Sun Jun 23, 2024 | 07:00 AM To 03:00 PM • Day 4: Sitka - Alaska Mon Jun 24, 2024 | 07:00 AM To 03:30 PM • Day 5: Juneau - Alaska Tue Jun 25, 2024 | 07:00 AM To 09:30 PM • Day 6: Icy Strait Point - Alaska Wed Jun 26, 2024 | 07:00 AM To 05:00 PM • Day 7: Hubbard Glacier (Cruising) Thu Jun 27, 2024 | 06:00 AM To 10:00 AM • Day 8: Seward - Alaska Fri Jun 28, 2024 | Arrive 06:00 AM
  21. Hi! i know about Seattle only having RT and I don’t want that. as I stated in my post. I want RT from Vancouver or the one ways. I also know that the Seattle ones are larger ships and have short port times another reason I want to do the other choices. Well as a solo traveler I sometimes think some cruise lines definitely tailor to them more. That’s why I mentioned it. Thanks!
  22. Hi! I am trying to figure out which itinerary to Alaska I want to do... Also I work at a school so my dates have to be Mid June to Mid August and can be 2023 or 2024. My ideal requirements are as follows: Sitka OW Northbound or Southbound or RT from Vancouver No need to come from Seattle-grew up there and I have spent a lot of time there. Big on History and wildlife- don't need expensive excursions. Kind of prefer to explore on my own Longer port times So I have looked at Celebrity and NCL and those are the 2 that might be a good choice. But please let me know what you think? Natalie
  23. I just booked the New England/Canada cruise that leaves out of Montreal in May of 2023. Super excited about it! Natalie
  24. This is super helpful! So I can pretty much save money and do most of the touring on my own which I probably would prefer. Thanks! And especially at the end of the season more of a reason to support the local businesses. And yes that is why I picked the Eurodam for Sitka! My family also attended Holy Resurrection in WB. And then they went to Holy Trinity. Once again small world. My family were Carpatho-Rusyns(Lemkos) not Russian but attended that church because they were Greek Catholic in the old country but switched once they got here. Long story! I want to hit bars, and restaurants too! And do more historical things and it seems Sitka and Ketchikan have that. Thanks again! Natalie
