I didn't understand why Allstate was letting us play scratch & win since we can't earn points, but I just read the description. We can with gift cards with it now. That's cool. 🙂 I haven't won yet. That's not cool. 😔

I totally agree OC. I haven't won on the scratch offs(or any other game they had going) in a couple of weeks. But OTOH, giving an 8% discount instead of their long standing practice of 10% totally turned me off of Allstate gift cards. It's AARP gift card s:classic_wink:100% for me now. Plus I love the convenience of "instant" e-gift card.

Hey you, get off my lawn!

Speaking of old (just kidding my friend), is @Joe817  still lurking around this thread? Been a long time, Joe. Stop in and say hi.

Hey OC!. Long time no talk to! Hope you and yours are doing well. Not to much to report except trying to stay out of the heat!  It got up to 108F today. I'm so sick of the heat I could eat a bug.

I haven't been on at all, as nothing to report. But...but...but, we are FINALLY going on a cruise next February. On a 5 day out of Galveston, on the Breeze. Really looking forward to it.

    Take care my friend.

Agree, but Guy's isn't going anywhere. If you could fit in Big Chicken, Street Eats, Chibang, JiJi, etc. somewhere else, great! They already fit Bonsai in on deck 2 on Spirit class. Not sure where that would go, but smarter people than I are working on it!

If they would get rid of the "art gallery" , that would free up quite a bit of space for them to put in 1 or 2 of those eateries. Of course, they might have to rearrange some other places to free up the eateries places. I never saw the need, or justification, of the art gallery.

They haven't done this for years. It has disappeared, along with free room service, bacon every morning on the Lido, midnight buffets, unlimited free extra dinner entres, Printed Fun Times, and dinner attire rule enforcement. But hey...after spending thousands of dollars on cruises, you still get a free drink on your last night.

Only if your status is gold or better. :classic_wink:

I think we all know that Galveston can be a bit of a nightmare. Our strategy has always been to get the earliest boarding time and arrive to the port as early as we can, prepared for chaos and lines.

This next cruise, though, I'd like to begin with as little chaos as possible.

What if we chose the latest boarding time and go to the port later? Would that take away some of the chaos and lines?

Just trying to start vacation on a different note. Open to idea!

Yes! It absolutely takes most, if not ALL, of the chaos associated with trying to get on the ship as soon as boarding starts. We now always take the latest check in time. On sailing day, we have plenty of time to wake up(not at the crack of dawn), get showered & dressed, and get on the road about 10am +/- . We usually drive around Galveston for an hour or so before stopping at our favored What- a-burger, and get our sausage egg & cheese biscuit and coffee. No stress what so ever. And when we get to the pier, get the bags checked. And NO WAITING IN LINE! It's usually about 20-30 minutes from entering the terminal, until we set foot on the ship. Stress free for us! :classic_wink:

The current itinerary of Roatan, Belize and Cozumel is not the normal one for the ship.  I believe the original itinerary was Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel before the propulsion issues forced the change.  We booked after the change, but folks who booked before and kept their reservation are getting an onboard credit.

"Roatan, Belize and Cozumel". That was our itinerary back in late Sept. 2021. It was of course, a 7 day, out of Galveston. Best cruise, IMO, we've ever had. Loved Belize, and Roatan. Cozumel, as usual...

Joe, I'll be down in good ole Texas this week (San Antonio). My boy's graduating AF basic training. Be sure to roll out the red carpet for my arrival. 😄

Congratulations to him....and YOU, O.C.! 👍 I know you are proud of him. Give him a "well done!" for me.
