1.
Simple for me;

Most, I love not having to be anywhere, or to have to call anyone, or to have to answer a telephone or an email.

I love having all that food to choose from, not having to cook it, or clean up after cooking it. I especially enjoy the MDR at dinner, the food and the wait staff who treat me so well.

I love sleeping as long as I like to, either going to bed early and getting up early or going late and sleeping late.

I love ordering room service breakfast, coffee, croissants and fruit, and lingering in my room till I feel like going out for the day.

I love the ports of call. I have not yet been to one that I did not like.

I enjoy the serenity deck, or those side decks on deck three of the conquest class ships.

I love the atrium bar for a drink before dinner.

About a dozen more things...but I wont go on. :)
Most of your answers echo my sentiments!
  2. I just got off her on 04/19/2014 the week before Dry-dock. The ship was in wonderful Shape. I was on The Verandah deck mid ship and could have not been more pleased! The staff was wonderful and the Cruise was great! Bedding was very comfortable. Food was excellent and to our liking. The staff were always cleaning!

Yes, I feel the same way about our cruise last May 2013. So, if they do anything extra to the cabins this time it would be like a cherry on top! I'm not complaining. 3 weeks from today I'll find out for myself!

  3. The cabins are suppose to get new paint and carpet so I am guessing new beds are in order too... I have been apying attention to the news because I am on the May 3rd. Will know for sure this time next week.

Ooooh that would be nice. Where did you get your info from? Since I went on practically the exact same cruise a year ago to the month on the Freedom, getting new cabin décor/bedding would at least make it feel different - but the 2.0 upgrades certainly will! Like I said before, no biggy if the cabins won't be updated but it would be a very nice treat for me. Thanks for your info.

  4. Yes, I don't think the ship was bad at all - was on the Freedom May 2013 - going on again May 18, 2014 - just wondering about the bedding/color - would be nice to get new but if not, I'm going to be happy with all the 2.0 upgrades. Thanks all for your replies.

  5. I'm sorry, I just HAVE to say it.... I'm gay, so I can say it... Cue haters...

Anyway, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." ROFL... You can always play dumb too. "I had no idea..." But seriously, best of luck!

We will be carrying our two obligatory bottles for our upcoming Magic cruise. Personally, I wouldn't try smuggling because I just don't want the hassle of being strip searched by the wine police lol... Don't forget your bottle opener!

    Exactly..........

  6. Hi- I booked the steakhouse for our upcoming Freedom cruise and shortly after I did receive the confirmation via e-mail from them. My question is, is this reservation supposed to show up somewhere on my booking or printed docs? It does not. But, I do have the printed e-mail confirmation. Is this all that is needed or should I call Carnival to make sure we are all set? Thanks.

  7. I'm missing 4 past cruises - one was a 4 day the rest 7 day. I find it ridiculous that Carnival is asking for the kind of proof that they are - I mean - who keeps stuff like this for years and years? Plus, I feel it's Carnival's fault that their computer system had kicked out past cruise info. - also when they changed over their system they lost our military proof so now I have to resubmit that - which is not a big deal because I have the paperwork for that. But really, paperwork, photos date stamped from 20 years ago. I'm not upset that I will not get credited though but I still find that Carnival is making it too difficult to prove previous sailings. JMHO.

  8. It is very confusing, even if you know you only pay by the cabin. When it asks you what guests you want to add, only add 1 per stateroom. It charges you for each person you add. This will be our first cruise with it, so I don't know yet if it is worth it. If I get to skip lines it will be :)

If I get confused when doing something on-line I just call Carnival - even better if you have a PVP - and ask them to do It for you. Stay on the line with them and make sure you know what you are charged. Easy. Hopefully, this is something that they can do for you. If not, then you are on your own I guess.

  9. No, I'm not stupid lol... I'm just avoiding the posters who seem it is worth their time to insult people for not knowing something or asking a simple question which no doubt, has been asked 100 times in the past. There is ONE ticket left for my booking.

I completely understand - you are right - some people on these boards are just plain nasty sometimes when they answer people's questions. Don't worry though - you asked and were answered nicely - hope it helps you to make your decision.

  10. I recommend either Hyatt Place or Hyatt House in Dania Beach, Fl. I have stayed at both several times when we used to visit our daughter in Hollywood, Fl. They offer shuttle to the port (and maybe from the airport?) don't know because we always drove in. I think there is a fee for the shuttle so you are better off taking a cab - not too much money I don't think. Free breakfast at both places - very good. The hotel is very clean and nice décor. I highly recommend these hotels (both have a pool also). Not far from the airport or pier/port. Check out the prices.

p.s. These hotels are right next door to each other - also across the street is a rather large shopping plaza/plus lots of places to eat.

  11. Another fan of Keen's here, DH (44), myself and both kids LOVE them. I have a cute strappy style (not sure what it's called) and the rest of the family have the more traditional styles. We have walked miles and miles around Disney without any problems. They are awesome!

I just received my new keen whisper sandals yesterday. Got them on 6pm site for $50 instead of the usual $90 that they cost because I had to take only certain colors that were in my size. Ordered a cute light/baby blue pair. I wasn't fussy on the color I had to choose - just wanted a good walking shoe so my feet don't hurt - I think the older you get you go for comfort rather than style/cute - at least I do. Tried them on - really feel good. Yay for me.

  12. Have them switch to ATD and go by yourself and get seated at a larger table with other people.

We always have a good time meeting other people at the larger tables, that would make going by yourself not seem such a lonely thing.

I think this is a perfect answer. I personally love to eat in the MDR -I like getting waited on while on vacation since I'm the one who waits on everyone else while at home. Plus, the food is much better there as you said.
