@leisuretraveler223, I hope you don't mind if I reply to this, since we did go to Hooked one evening.

@mets123, we went for dinner and although we didn't try the lobster roll, we had a great meal. The restaurant itself is really nice too and we had an absolutely outstanding server. Her name is Pupae and, if you do decide to go, ask if you can be seated in her section. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she patiently explained all the dishes to us (it was our first time at Hooked) and made sure we understood what we were ordering. She also explained to us how to eat the soft shell crabs, which were something we'd never had before. We told her we wanted to share everything so she set everything out in the centre of the table for us.

Dinner menu. I think it has more items on it than the lunch menu.

    Here's what we had:

    Soft shell crab:

    Maryland crab cake.

    Fresh hand-tossed salad:

Captain's platter. We were offered a choice of halibut or salmon for this one. We chose the halibut and it was really good.

    Royal platter:

Desserts: Coconut cream pie and lemon tart. We were too full to eat these in the restaurant and Pupae got them made up for us to take back to our cabin to eat later. They weren't great tbh. The coconut cream pie was ok but the lemon tart lived up to its name and was far too tart for our liking.

All in all, it was a very nice meal. I really liked the Captain's platter but found the Royal platter to be just a bit too much fried stuff for my liking, so I'd definitely not choose that one again.

Thanks for such a great review! We have the 3 night specialty restaurant package, and now I absolutely want to try Hooked. My husband loves soft shell crab, and all of the food looks fantastic. March 23rd cannot get here quickly enough!

  2. I just made the final payment for our December Silhouette cruise, got the email confirmation about the payment I made for a 7 night Galapagos Inner Loop cruise - that trip is news to me! While I'd certainly love to get to the Galapagos someday, I'm definitely booked on an Eastern Caribbean trip, and now I'm getting the "down for maintenance" message. I had to laugh. This site can be a hot mess sometimes.

    Gotta love technology.

  3. Cruising for the first time with Celebrity on Reflection next week. It seems like every cruise we discover a cool spot or neat thing on the ship the LAST day of the cruise!! So help me out and make sure I know about these places/things BEFORE we get on the ship!

We sailed on the Reflection in November. While we booked Murano several months ahead of time, we added the Lawn Club Grill last minute. Murano was certainly everything I had been told, but the Lawn Club Grill was another gem! We were both so glad we decided to try it out!

I enjoyed spending some quiet time time reading in the Hideway. It was a nicely secluded spot (with coffee!), and it was a nice little break.

  4. Anne, I COMPLETELY agree with you. I would sail with the PP guys again any day.

Truly, I thought that all of the passengers and crew were kind and courteous, and it made for a great trip. I NEVER saw a passenger unnecessarily take out their frustration on a crew member. I keep thinking of the two bartenders at the Molecular Bar. They NEVER stopped working, and, despite that, I felt that we were always waiting a very long time for (amazing!) drinks. I did not see a single person give the bartenders a hard time. Everyone was so very respectful. I wish I saw more behavior like that in my "real" life!

KevP - Tell Sergio the 11/30/13 sailing folks say hi. He was a joy.

  5. Thank you, what a fantastic review!

We are doing the same cruise for our honeymoon and cannot wait!

Please could you tell me which nights of the 7 day itinerary the formal nights are? You mentioned chateaubriand which we would like to try, which night did you have this please? I only ask so we know which night to book Murano for.

    Thanks again :)

KFOINST - We were on this cruise for our honeymoon (Hi everyone!!!), and we went to Murano for our final night on the ship. We both agreed that it was the perfect way to end the trip (seriously, I am going to be dreaming of the bleu cheese souffle for months). If it works for your plans, I highly recommend it for the final night of your honeymoon!

As a first timer on Celebrity, I was in awe over almost the entire experience. I thought the MDR food was great but could have been warmer. DH did not agree, but I tend to like my food pretty scalding. We were in the same boat as CLE-GUY about the music, but, as he said, that's personal taste. We enjoyed it overall.

I agree wholeheartedly about the bar service. The bartenders worked their butts off, and I was exhausted just watching them. How the (wonderful!) Molecular bartenders didn't collapse from exhaustion is beyond me. The guys at the Sunset Bar were my personal favorite, and I was impressed with their ability to keep up.
