@Jukebo1x, you are right. I wasn't quite clear in my last post.

But CCWineLover was quite correct in what he posted and there is no reason to delete what he wrote. In fact, he took the time to find the correct roll call and to post the link so that OP could find what they were looking for. Not many people do that.

As to deleting the thread or any of the posts, it is a tempest in a teapot. No harm has been done and it is a waste of management's time to bother with such a trivial request. Let them concentrate their effort on more egregious infractions.

Personally, it you want to talk Trade Routes (which is a great idea), I would start a new thread here in the Viking Oceans forum that indicates you are starting the thread with the object of collecting information relevant to the itinerary (without regard to the date it is sailing). That way you will attract the attention of folks who have already done the itinerary (and they are the ones with the answers). Make sure to list the ports of call in the first paragraph; people like to share information about ports they have done if it wasn't while doing the Trade Routes itinerary. You start it, and I'll be there. I've already done 5 of the ports with Viking.

The OP (RavensFan2011) created this Roll Call here, on the main Viking Oceans board. You created a Roll Call for the cruise on the Viking Venus Roll Calls board - which is exactly where it should be.

Roll Calls should not be on the main board, always on the appropriate ship roll call board, which is where yours is.

    That's what @CCWineLover was telling the OP.  ... 🍺🥌

    CurierRob-

Thank you for explaining what was going on.
    I now understand.
If RavensFan2011 wants wants to be a part of our discussions, of course they can.
    Thanks again for your assistance-Jeannette🌞

@Jukebo1x, you misread what CCWine wrote. He said there is one roll call and it has several replies.  He did not say that there are several roll calls.

Moreover, he posted a link to that roll call so that anyone who reads this thread can find it.

    peregrina651-

Sorry, however while we are all speaking English, and I have a Masters Degree,I am not understanding what either of you or CCWine… were trying to say.

Since Viking Ocean began once again sailing, I have created five of these Roll Calls.

Meet & Mingles are still “paused”.

I do these Roll Calls because, I’m hoping that we can all visit here, learn, and share all types of ideas about clothing, packing excursions, Viking, etc. for this 2024 cruise.

In addition, on the last three “post-pandemic” cruises, I, with the help of Viking, created “get-togethers”, inviting those on the Roll Call page and FB page.
As an example, the most recent (May), included 30+ Cruise Critic & FB followers and another 10+ Viking staff members from the Captain to the Tour Director.
This latest event was held in the Wintergarden, and was (as with the others), lovely.

I don’t want I’ll-feelings, and I don’t want to confuse people.Instead, can we talk Trade Routes?

    Thank you for understanding.

You probably should have done a search on Venus Roll Calls, as there is already one out there plus several replies.   You'll need to delete this one.

    CcWineLover,

    Please delete your post.
    You are mistaken.
I did several searches, and for 2024, there are no other Trade Routes for these dates.
If you cannot delete your erroneous post, then please ask CC to help.
If I am incorrect, please provide the title to your Roll Call.
    Thanks so much🌞

Thank you ALL....I think this trip connecting to the Transatlantic will be in our future....if not 2020 ( afraid I will still be uncomfortable traveling)  then we will wait until 2021!   However, much to our family's dismay we went with another couple on a cruise to Asia in October of 2001....never felt safer.   But right now is a great time to be thankful, hopeful and dream for a new way to share the world.

    Well said.

We have only done one Princess, “Inside  Passage” Alaskan Cruise, and among lots of crowds, with kids everywhere, not the cleanest Jr. Suite (or whatever size room it was) and communal restaurant,  lots of mediocre food (except for the private restaurants),  people hawking artwork, noisy casino,  etc., we decided there has to be something better out there.
Our Princess “cleanliness experience“ never came close to what Viking does.

In October, when we were on the Sun, the crew  were sanitizing our patio, washing windows, our steward left us with clean mirrors, when walking the promenade, you could smell fresh paint, hand railings were always being cleaned, etc.
We discovered Viking Ocean, and we too “drank the Kool-Aid“ 😌
While we have booked four previous VO cruises, We have only taken two. (Two cruises cancelled by Viking to Cuba & our May02 Cruise).
Each Viking Cruise  we did  take was magnificent.
The ships are extraordinarily  clean, their crew is remarkable in what they do, and their everyday friendly demeanor, it’s an adults-only atmosphere, we never felt crowded, the food was more than nice, and as a company, Viking is a wonderful organization.
Sorry I’m biased and have to say, Princess is no where  Close to being in the same league as Viking😌

P.s. we have scheduled two more VO cruises for 2021😌

Facebook is being mean to me.  Right now they are posting "memories" from our 3 week cruise 3 years ago, Barcelona to Stockholm.  It was our first Viking and after over 50 cruises on other cruise lines (including being Elite on Princess and Diamond on RCI) we were hooked. Last month, when the quarantine hit, they were posting my "memories" from last year's Auckland to Bali 5 week trip. Our next is Rome to Miami in Oct. We'll see. But totally agree with Andy. The Viking service and cleanliness is unsurpassed. We will only cruise Viking Ocean from now on, and we decided that 3 years ago! On Princess we found wallets under our bed (with money, we returned it), clothes in a couple of drawers, shaving cream and razor in a medicine cabinet. And those were on different cruises. It's Viking from now on.

We are under stay at home orders, too, and we are. Our governor has decided that golf courses are "essential services". Rog is not playing. The majority of cases in AZ are between ages 20-44.

Stay safe everybody! I'm cooking a LOT and actually enjoying it. I retired just before all of this started.

Glad that you are “sheltering in place”.
We in MO have a “whoosy” stay-at-home order.
Luckily, our county govt. ordered stay-at-home, way before our governor.

I can see the order is working Out here...little glimmers of hope.

When grocery shopping, we became a bit spooked, by people in gloves & masks.
We now have SHIPT delivery service.

We have  been to Costco a few times, picked-up carry-out, taken some walks, dropped off food to loved ones, and that’s the extent of our outdoor social life.
Everyone stay well, stay safe, and stay sane😌

Couldn't believe how little traffic was on the road. Made it home in 45 mins, which at that time would normally be 2 hrs. Even Metro Vancouver is resembling the quiet island life, at least for now.

    Welcome Home.
we have had several weeks to “adapt” to this new life” as we now know it”.

You are all first being “thrusted” into it, for the first time.
I know you can already determine, reading and watching videos of what is currently occurring  is nothing like “actually living it”.
The “social distancing, The sheltering in place, the paranoia of how to handle delivered groceries, the pain of a loved one on a ventilator, the elation when they are released from ICU, or released from a hospital, the sadness of those not so fortunate, those without employment, the small parades celebrating those coming home and for first responders.  It all takes on new meaning.  It’s different. It’s a lot.
I can only say remember “baby steps”, when adapting to all of this.
I have hope that we will be resilient, and that as a result, many will become better people, with softer hearts, and that will be good.
I wish everyone on CC blessings on this Easter day, and everyday.-Jukebo1x.

I'm a bit confused as to why there are still, what, 8 passengers aboard? I went back through a few pages and came across Andy's post about the plan to disembark non-US and non-Canadians in Dubai, and subsequently US and Canadian passengers continuing on to the US, but then something further about everyone disembarking in Dubai. So...how is it that there are still passengers, let alone so few?  Ship is obviously headed towards the Suez, but then where once in the Med?

See above. Please let’s not talk about all this.
    they must remain safe.

I second Liz.  Staying on board is the safest place to be.  Why return to the stress and crazyness on land before you have to.  The best thing Viking can do is not allow shore leave until you reach US.

I keep imagining a Sci-fi book or movie scenario where the entire world is wiped out except for one cruise ship with young and old left to build a new world.

    Stay healthy and have fun.

Stephen King-The Stand comes to mind...just stay safe, and healthy😌

That is an admirable position from Crystal, but the 2019/20 Viking WC continue - damn the torpedoes, weather, virus, et al.

Viking are trying desperately to keep this cruise going until London, to attain the longest WC world record. We already have been provided 30% cruise fare in future credits for missing a couple of ports and have NO doubt that Viking will see us right when we get to London.

About 52 more sea days to go - we will be soooo relaxed by London.😁

We continue to cheer you on.

Wow what a mess...We were devastated not to be able to go on this long awaited cruise and post cruise visit to India but so relieved that were told in time before we made our 32 hour flight to Bali.

Viking is working incredibly hard on compensation plans and they are ongoing as I type this.

We spent nearly 7 hours with them trying to salvage a long planned vacation.  Cudos to Viking...we just re-booked to a 13 day Viking Star cruise (even got the exact same cabin as we would have on the Sun) leaving on March 10 (yes 2 days) to Norway's Northern Lights and adding an 8 day Rhine River cruise from Amsterdam to Basel right after.  As Norway and a river cruise were next on our bucket list, we were delighted that timing for these 2 cruises fit our schedules perfectly.  Looking forward to new adventures.  Now to swap all our hot weather clothes for snowy conditions.

Wishing those aboard a safe and enjoyable passage to London or wherever you finally land!

Just glad that you have closure.
We’ll be in Oslo on May 01 (VO pre-cruise).
We are hoping we can do our trip...fingers & toes crossed, but will be, will be.
I am thrilled that everyone was a able to disembark in Bali.
I just want everyone safe & healthy.
    Travel safely & have a total blast😌

    Jim,

I have no doubt you are correct, but while they may not be making a short term profit on this cruise, they are not reducing the standards so common on the mega ship cruise lines. Viking are looking after us extremely well, both with daily life on board and the totally unexpected compensation package. Long term, Viking are blowing the competition out of the water.

Late yesterday afternoon, we were advised that an agreement had been reached with the local authorities to permit pax and crew to proceed ashore. All they required was an additional temperature check from all crew & pax. They brought out a number of local officials out to the ship, with the entire compliment completed in under an hour. This was our 3rd check is 5 days.

Last night we were advised, provided nobody on board had a temperature, we would be provided shore leave. Upon completion of the temperature checks, we did not hear the result. At present it is 06:45 and I am starting to hear activity below our cabin at the tenders, which are currently stowed.

Now 07:00 and first tender is currently being lowered, which is a good sign for getting ashore.

Update - 07:03 - Cruise Director just advised we are cleared to go ashore and we have a briefing at 07:30

    Yippee!!!

Enjoy, and Swishing all huge smilesJeannette😌
