Just as a guide to ladies (and men of course ;) ) regarding the hair dryer. I had the same problem on Silhouette in September, our first holiday without our own hairdryer. I put a hair band around the handle where the on/ off control is. Rolled it over the control to dry hair then rolled it down the handle when finished.
Mission accomplished :D
We board Millie on Feb 3rd, thanks for the updates Doug. Finding it difficult to contain our excitement now. :)

Thank you for taking up so much of your time " ghstudio", it really is appreciated and we look forward to your next instalment.
We'll be on the 3rd feb cruise, so all you have to share makes it so interesting.
Someone has said that there is a change of captain on our cruise, maybe yours has already left ::eek:

Pleased to be of help Schplinky. Like others I have learned quite a bit from these boards. I think it was Elena7seas who originally made me decided to try and get the centre hump angled cabin, if at all possible.
In answer to the question about the sun. We were in the Caribbean on Equinox last December and as long as we were facing in the right direction, I was able to sunbathe very comfortably on the balcony. However, I would think it depends on where you are and at what time of year and all the other factors that govern the position of the sun.
If we get the chance to cruise on a Solstice class ship again, I wouldn't hesitate in trying for that cabin again. We are thinking of an Alaskan cruise on Infinity next year, but sadly they don't have the "hump". I dont suppose you have any recommendations for Infinity cabins, apart from aft of course but they're all gone???

Do you think we can make this a sticky? It has such valuable information. The thread can grow if it was a sticky at the top of the page
I've always wondered what a "sticky" was but didnt like to ask :o.

We also just returned from a lovely cruise on Journey.
Cabin 8001.
No noise issues at all.
No smell of smoke ( and we are ex smokers so are super sensitive!!)
The last cabin before Crew quarters and so minimal passing traffic.
We would be more than happy to book that cabin again.
