Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. My wife and I brought a bottle of wine each, for consumption in our stateroom, on each of our eleven HAL cruises over the years. Post covid we have been on four cruises (after corkage fee's for this wine was instituted) and never charged corkage until our most recent departure (January) out of FLL. The stupid thing is we had the Have It All package. Fifteen glasses of wine per day each, already paid for, if we wanted. To have a bottle or two for the cabin is just a convenience to enjoy a glass from time to time without having to going out to a bar to get wine. From now on we will forget the expense of bringing on our own wine and drink HAL's when we have the "Have It All". G
  2. Is the Pier project and facility upgrades at Half Moon Cay going to proceed or is the project staying on the back burner indefinitely?
  3. It depends on the Class of ship as to where the plugs are located. On the Oosterdam (I think same class as Westerdam) the plug is at the Desk/Vanity so an extension cored is needed and needs to run across the cabin floor to the night table. Pinnacle class ships there is a plug at the night tables, no cord needed. I take a 10 ft cord with my Cpap but I'm sure an 8 ft cord would work.
  4. My wife and I just made an appointment to be tested (antigen) with Shoppers Drug Mart in our area for our upcoming Alaska cruise. They tell us results in 15 minutes. We are a 45 min drive out of Vancouver so I'm assuming that wouldn't work for you and you are looking for a test in downtown Vancouver. According to Shoppers web site they test at their pharmacy just 3 to 4 blocks from Canada Place (cruise terminal) 1202 West Pender St. Vancouver BC. V3E 2S9. Ph# 1-604-605-1200. If that location doesn't work for you there is an other Shoppers Drug Mart downtown. Shoppersdrugmart.ca Hope that helps.
