  1. For the last several years we have done the 9 night Bermuda, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Labadee from Cape Liberty.  The ship with that itinerary have been Anthem the last few years. This June, '20, we were scheduled for that same itinerary on Adventure of the Seas, which will most likely be cancelled.  The Oasis is doing the Perfect Day at Coca Cay and Port Canaveral and the Empress is doing a 7 night to Bermuda for next June but weI cannot find any ship that is scheduled to sail the 9 night Bermuda, Caribbean cruise that have done for the past six or seven years (or more).

I can't believe RCC has no ships doing the Eastern Caribbean trip for next year.  We really don't have any interest in Cocoa Cay.

    Just wondering what's going on.

    Thanks again, Swiss

  2. We had to cancel our June cruise this year due to Covid19 so I was online this week trying to book another cruise for next June out of Cape Liberty doing the Eastern Caribbean. I haven't found any.  They have Perfect Day cruises on Oasis and 5 or 7 nights on Empress to Bermuda but NOTHING showing for Eastern Caribbean.  Is it me, the website or too soon to schedule? Just wondering if anyone knows what's up.  Thanks!

So, I found a decent deal and got a last minute cruise to Anthem on March 22-29..... leaves out of Cape Liberty

I've never been on this class of ship.... biggest I've been on is Oasis & loved it. Honestly I've loved every cruise that I've been on. Sure there are always things to pick out negative if you want. But for the most part, I'm laid back and take things in stride. That being said, there isn't alot of positive out there about the Quantum class.

Which makes me a tad bit nervous..... is it because most of these boats don't sail from the US?

Also I'm a midwest gal,.....so I'm used to varying weather temps. I didn't think leaving out of Cape Liberty was going to be that big of a deal, but now my family has me scared to death that there will be a winter storm or something keeping me from getting there during March 22-29..... Also they made it seem like we won't have much warm weather..... did I make a mistake choosing this cruise? I thought it would be a good one because I have active boys 13 & 10.....but we also don't want to be cold....

I was getting all excited, and now I'm a bit nervous...

Any Anthem fans out there? Anyone choose Cape Liberty often? Is it really going to be that cold?

We sailed on Quantum and Anthem a total of 4 times out of Cape Liberty and loved each cruise.  If it's cold, there are so many things to do indoors and the solarium is amazing!  The ships handle any rough seas well and you would barely notice any movement.  We've stayed midship and in the aft in suites and had no problems whatsoever from ages 3 to 70.  If Anthem were sailing out of Cape Liberty this Summer when we cruise again, we would all be on her in a heartbeat but sadly she is leaving the east coast.   Keep your booked cruise, you will love, love love it!

  5. My husband and I did not try Wonderland for two years.  Then last year, we tried it and we were amazed!  It was so much fun and we enjoyed everything...especially the presentations.  The servers really make/break this experience.  This year, we went twice while on our cruise.  The first dinner was just as amazing, however, the second time we had a different server and she just did not add to the experience at all...very rushed and uninterested.  BUT, we will enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.  A very different and fun night.  We will definitely go again.

  6. I seem to remember seeing something about what the schedule was for tribute bands on the Anthem of the Seas and all the RC ships.  We are sailing 6/20/19 on Anthem and I was curious to know what the tribute band scheduled would be, though I have to admit all the tribute bands I've seen have been great!  Thanks for any info.Swiss

  7. I am also claustrophobic but tried the escape room two years ago.  I had absolutely NO problem.  The escape room area is very large and everyone is working together so it's a lot of fun.  There was always an cavities person in the room with us and someone did leave b/c they were feeling a bit queasy so they simply left.  No problem.  Did the escape room again last cruise and still very enjoyable.   Give it a try, it's fun!

  8. Hi! We are sailing on Anthem for the holidays and will be staying in a Star Class suite. We have sailed on the Allure in a Star Class level suite and it was fabulous. In reading some of the reviews of the Anthem genies, early reviews weren't always positive. I'm hoping someone here might have recent experience with the Anthem genies. What were your experiences? Who was your genie? Were you happy? Just trying to get my expectations in line with reality! :confused:Thank you so much for your help!

We have been on Anthem of the Seas in Star Class three times. Our genies have been Mimi, Derick and Jay. All three were absolutely wonderful and it was so wonderful to have their planning and special attention to detail each time. While they were all wonderful, our favorite was Derick. Each one personalizes the cruise to what you need or want (and even when you don't know what you want!). Planning on doing Star Class again next year again on Anthem. You will enjoy every minute and no hassle! Wishing you all a great cruise! Swiss

  9. As far as I’m concerned, their casino rates suck. I see little to no discount ! If you call CR in the morning you will usually be on hold for a long time and get a new person. Usually Caribbean accented lady (there are a few). Hang up on them. Otherwise you will be frustrated with someone who doesn’t know a cruise ship from a life boat. Call in the late afternoon.

Just before I left on our Anthem cruise (ten days ago), I called CR to find out what my tier was b/c I had not received any notification via email or snail mail. After a lengthy wait, I was informed I was "Prime". When I asked what the benefits for Prime were I was told "google it"!!! She also told me I didn't get an email b/c my computer was probably "blocking" it. BTW, I never receive any emails from CR in the last ten years and no one could figure out why. I did get a letter in my stateroom upon boarding that told me I was Prime and my sea pass also stated that. Yesterday (late afternoon) the young man I spoke with told me I already was getting the casino rate - then five minutes later, he said I couldn't get the casino rate b/c I was using certificates. Too much double talk for me. I think I would rather lose the $500 and just forget about cruising RC any further. The couple that booked with us for next year feel the same - it's as if they are purposely trying to throw out all the CR players after years of play. I never would have booked for next year onboard had I known there were no longer casino rates as they were. This brought the cost of the exact same cabin up by over $4,000. No thank you, RC, moving on! Swiss

  10. I've also been told you can't use a casino certificate with a casino rate. It was one or the other. With a $1000 off certificate, don't you also have the choice to book one of the cruises listed on the certificate in a balcony for free? (just taxes)

You also won't lose the OBC that you received for booking on board when you apply the certificate. If it was repriced with the casino rate, you would lose the OBC.

Also with Prime, you are also entitled to book another cruise in an inside cabin for up to 8 nights to sail before 3/31/19.

That's the problem - I asked if I could have the casino rate and forego the $1,000 certificate (actually, I have two - one is mine for $1,000 and one form my husband, who only plays for short periods at table games). He told that was the casino rate - the same price that I booked at on the ship (which was way higher than it used to be. Something weird is happening with CR and I don't care for it - feeling very disrespected and un-appreciated. All that rep wanted to do was get me off the phone ASAP. Swiss (P.S. He also never mentioned a free cruise for my tier level)

  11. I am so confused (and sounds like many of you are as well). Just returned from a 10 day Anthem cruise and received a certificate for $1,000 off future cruise (balcony) and learned that I am Prime. I booked next year's cruise while onboard and was told I could switch it to Casino Royale and get the CR rates (as I have also done in the past, upon my return home. I called this afternoon and after a lengthy wait, finally got someone. This rep told me he could apply my cruise certificate to the res. I already had. I then asked about getting the casino rate first and then applying the $1,000. He told me that I can't have the casino rate AND the $1,000 off for my certificate - either one, not both. I have not heard this before. BTW, prior to sailing this last week I called CR and asked about my tier level, I was told I was sent an email. I never got one and asked what my tier level meant (Prime). The rep told me to "google it". Seriously??? Bottom line is this: were any of you able to get the casino rate AND apply your certificates you received on board from your play? Feeling pretty disgusted with Royal and CR right now. To make it worse, booked a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit GLS ....GRRRR..... Thanks for any info, Swiss

  12. Wow, the new pub menu for Brass & Bock isn't much to speak of, is it? Basically a burger and a few munchies. I know we will all miss Michael's Pub. What a shame they couldn't replace it with a similar type menu or at least something which has more choices. Disappointed. Guess it will be off to Jamie's for us.

    Thanks for the info!

  13. Hi Everyone,

I believe I read somewhere on these boards that Michael's Pub is no longer on Anthem. Was it replaced by another similar pub-like atmosphere with a similar menu or just gone altogether? We liked eating lunch at Michael's on boarding day and wondering what our alternative is (besides 270 and Windjammers.

    Any info happily appreciated.

    Thank you!

  14. We're going to be on Anthem in a few weeks in Star Class. Our Genie will be Yen, but I was told she is off the ship currently and is back this Saturday. Also on the ship right now is Derick Martis. I hope that helps!

Thank you! I don't know what their rotation time frame is but I am hoping our genie will be the one we had last year - Derick! He was wonderful and we would all love to see him again. I'm sure they're all good but it's always nice to see familiar faces who know you from past cruises!

    Have a great cruise!

  15. We've had Mimi and Derick on Anthem of the Seas. Both were absolutely incredible and would appear almost anytime we wished they were they. I'm hoping we get one of them again on our next cruise in a few months but don't know what ship they are currently on or will be moving to. Our friends had Joyce this past Summer and though they found her helpful and eager to please, she was not as "going over and above" as our genies were.

  16. I've read on these boards a few times that Royal has changed Sky Loft Suites to Sky Class rather than Star Class starting sometime in 2018. I'm wondering if someone booked last year for a Sky Loft that was in Star Class, does that mean they paid for the Royal Genie as part of their cruise price and now Royal is moving that Sky Loft to Sky class with no genie? I'm at the point I don't know what to believe anymore. I have two friends who are booked in Sky Lofts this June and not sure what they're going to end up with.

Anyone know what is really happening with this?

    Thanks for any info.

  17. We sailed on Anthem last year in a loft suite at the back of deck 10. I didn't notice any extra vibration or anything different than when we stayed midship in the past. Loved it so much, we booked the same suite for this year. The view is absolutely incredible and the service is extraordinary. Have fun!

  18. I'm trying to find that review and I must just be missing it. Can either of you provide a link?

Trojan, we too would never ask the Genie to unpack, pack, or shine our shoes. We do all those things at home ourselves and we can sure do the same tasks while on holidays.

I do like your favourite sampler meal served in your cabin. I just told my wife about that and we will be doing that this March. MMM.:)
