  1. Have been on both Quantum and then Anthem - loved both (they are sister ships so almost identical). Loved Anthem so much this past year, we booked for 2017 as well. Love all of the RC ships but Anthem is now our favorite. Our 9 year old and 4 year old boys loved all the activities for them and the Adventure Ocean for each of them was wonderful, too. So much to do. I am sorry to see Dynamic Dining leave - we loved that but will deal with it. Fantastic ship and crew!

  2. We are a family of 8 ranging from 3 to 60 something and we ALL absolutely loved Quantum and Anthem. Anthem is such a beautiful ship and there is so much to do and so many places to relax as well. We are already booked for next year and if I could, would hop onboard tomorrow or any other day. Amazing ship, fantastic staff.....

People complain about everything - my point is, if you want to complain, stay home, it's cheaper! LOL Enjoy your cruise!

  3. Hi

Could you advise if each guest in the stateroom receives an individual email and questionnaire or only the first guest on the booking. If each guest receives an email are you able to tell from the email who else received the email for that stateroom ie the distribution list for that stateroom ?

I have asked this before but may not have been very clear.

    Thanks

To answer your question, from my experience only one guest in each suite receives the questionnaire. I received one and I assume it was because I did the booking and my email address was used for all communication.

The genie we had was there when we needed her but not at all intrusive in any way. We did not ask much of her but when we did, it was done....quickly and without standing in GS lines, etc. Great experience.

  4. Hi Swiss- Mimmi is not on the ship. She is on vacation returning Nov 20th.

Thanks for the info! I hope she is there for our cruise next year on Anthem. However, it does sound as though your genie is pretty magical, too! Awesome that you are having a great cruise. It's to tough to leave that experience....but you can't wait to return to it. I'm counting the days until next year....

    Happy days!

  5. So glad to read the genie experience is the same as we had this past June. We were on Deck 10 and our genie was Mimmi. Do you know if Mimmi is still a genie on Anthem now?

That center aft view is amazing, isn't it?

The only thing I disliked about our cruise was getting OFF - who wants to leave that incredible experience. Our genie met us at an appointed time in the AM and we are off the ship and through customs and to our car in 10 minutes! WOW, just WOW!!

    Have fun!!

  6. We were on an Anthem cruise this summer along with another couple also in Star class. We both heard from our genies about a week before the cruise. The genies pay attention to your answers in the questionnaires and do take care of any special requests. An email from each genie asked further questions and asked about anything we would like taken care of, what are special preferences were, etc. We were met at the pier by the genie who took walked us through security, check-in and had our luggage taken right to our suites. From car to suite took approximately 10-15 minutes. Once onboard, our genie set up a time to have a planning meeting (if we wanted to) and took care of everything we had asked, made suggestions for shows, dining, etc. It was a fantastic each experience for all of us. The genies are busy during each cruise taking great care of their current passengers and helping the next cruises passengers with emails, requests, etc. If you are sailing the second week of October, I would suspect you would hear from the genie the first week of October. I imagine each genie has their own timeline they deal with.

If your genie is anything like ours, I don't think you will have any problems or anything to worry about. (Our genie was Mimmi - can't remember the name of the other couple's genie.)

  7. Thanks for the information! Was that your personal car or car service? I am planning on driving and was wondering if we would have a special parking section.

We had a car service. I don't believe there is special parking for Star Class but not sure about that. We were laughing that the longest time we spent getting onboard was the long walk to the suites in the aft of the ship. That is a long, long walk but so worth it! Amazing views!

  8. Does anyone know if there is a seperate area you go to for parking in Bayonne if you are Star Class on Anthem?

When we sailed Anthem this past June, there was an area marked "STAR" class and our genie met us there at our appointed time. Our car pulled up, our luggage was unloaded. Genie arranged for our luggage to go right with us directly to our GLS. She had someone with an iPad with her who took care of our check-in and we walked through security. From car to our suite took less than 15 minutes. It was awesome!!

    Enjoy

  9. I'd be interested in hearing about Star Class on Anthem (since I sail on her in March). I haven't found much about Anthem for that experience yet.

Matt and Andrew have done a good job for Allure. LOL ;)

After watching Andrew's scopes all week, I just booked 2018 for Anthem already. Great watching (but bad on the wallet) :D

I was on Anthem this past June in a GLS. Our genie was wonderful and took care of everything and anything...we don't require much but if we even sounded as though we were wondering about something, she got the answer for us. It was an amazing experience and we hope it is the same next year for us. Hope your cruise will be awesome.

  10. Maybe I'm the only one who was not aware of this, but recently sailed with friends so went ahead and purchased a beverage package. The casino host said "OH good, you have a beverage package and don't need a sticker. That's good, the cost of the drinks won't be deducted from you next cruise perks".

Has this always been the case? Thanks!

I sailed on Anthem the beginning of June in a star class suite (ultimate drink package is included in star class). When I met the host, Shirley, she put a sticker on my card and then realized we were in star class, at which time she told me to make sure to tell the bar servers to put it under the ultimate drink package so I wouldn't get charged under my casino number. Some of the bar servers could not tell the difference and I had to explain to them what to do. I was unaware that drinks in the casino were being charged against my account but perhaps this is relatively new.

  11. I recently experienced the Star Class and its amenities on Anthem and loved the whole new Genie program. Today I went to Royal's website and couldn't find the list of amenities for the Star Class suites and the genie overview. Anyone know if it still on the RCCL website or am I just being dense and can't find it? I even did a search on their website and nothing came up under the FAQ's.

Anyone know where to find that info on their website?

    Thanks,

    Swiss

  12. Sailing on August 6 for five days to Bermuda. Its been a real long time since our last vacation and we are really looking forward to this. I know I'm probably being paranoid but there seems to be so many bad reviews of this ship. And I'm a little disappointed that RCCL has completely changed all of the reservations I had made (check your email if you are booked this summer). So please, can I hear some good (true) things about the Anthem! Thanks.

It is an amazing ship and the people on it are wonderful. I passed the Next Cruise desk every single day and met others in my party there (it was our pre-planned meeting area). I can't even begin to tell you how many people came away from their meetings with RC reps saying 'we're booked on Anthem again!". Yes, it is that good! Cruising for many years with small children and now grown children and grandchildren and it is now our family's favorite ship ever!

There are complainers and moaners on EVERY ship and they love to come here and complain - but those of us who enjoyed the experience just love remembering every day of it. Besides, smiling causes way less wrinkles than frowning! SMILE - you are so lucky to look forward to cruising on Anthem!!

  13. We sailed Anthem the beginning of the month - had a quiet and wonderful lunch at Michael's Pub. A few other people were there and the staff was ready, willing and anxious to chat with us. It was delightful - great burgers and their charcuterie is an amazing assortment of goodies to share.

    Enjoy!

  14. I never had anything less than an excellent meal with peerless service.

I felt the same last year on the Quantum. Sadly, it was not the same on Anthem for our cruise. There were numerous problems with reservations, etc. throughout the ship in the various specialty restaurants. Two nights in Coastal were wonderful, two nights were really below par (for them). It only seemed to involve dinner. Breakfast and lunch were wonderful, as was the service.

Something was off that entire cruise with dining reservations and it manifested itself in all the specialty restaurants, especially Chops. Still had a great cruise and I am confident they worked it all out for the following week.

    Love that ship!

  15. 10 with the NEW Code YHO7-CASINO ROYALE $0.00

    We have some consistency:)

    There will be other codes

    YHP06

    YHP07 etc.. Etc..

These are old and reflect $ amount for discounts you are getting for table and slot play.

Just getting Confirmation on the meaning behind the YHO7 code, I have an answer just waiting for a second answer to collaborate the 1st answer.

    Thanks for alls feedback

Just catching up on this thread after returning from Anthem cruise this past weekend. Today I received my confirmation for the next cruise we booked. Codes are YHO7 and YHP5 and YHP6.

Has anyone figured out what they mean yet? Host on Anthem told me program is not completely defined yet (as if I didn't know that) and there will be more news to come. Host was not as friendly or visited as much as on prior cruises. From reading here, sounds like the way it is now. Assistant host was much more communicative with all of us.

Luck to all (especially trying to figure the new codes out). They were handing out free certificates like lollipops last week.

  16. Has anyone gone to Horseshoe Bay on their own. I remember years ago, a long hill to get there! Do cabs drive down to drop you off and pick you up again?

Yes, cabs do sit at the bottom of the hill and wait for people wanting to leave. They usually wait until their van is filled with people wanting to go back to the ship. Also, there is a shuttle at the bottom that will take you to the top where people can wait for a bus/

  17. I may be confused for nothing but once I went to the page where it had my name and stateroom number, nothing further happened. I'm confused as to whether I will get a text at a later date or....who knows. The email made it sound as though you needed to click on the link to register but once at the page there was no further info required. I guess I'll wait and see what happens.

Wish they gave a bit more info for those of us non savvy tech people. I'm just assuming I will get a text from the genie at some point.

As always, Bob, thanks for your response. You are always helpful!

  18. Received an email for Loop, a new feature for Star Class on RC. Anyone have any experience with this and how it works. I clicked on the appropriate link in the email and it took me to a page with my name and that was it! What happens next? I understand I will be able to communicate via this with my RC genie but not quite sure how it works. Does this enable them to text me directly?? Help, please.

Know my way around iPad and cell phone a bit but this is a new experience for me so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  19. Shirley is the Casino Host on Anthem and will be there in June, she's very nice.

I remember Helen from England very well on Quantum and met her on Explorer many years ago, a real sweetheart.

    Much luck in the casino:)

Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to meeting Shirley. If she is anything like Helen, I'll be happy.

Good luck and happy cruising back to you!

  20. That's good to know if I'm ever in that situation.

    Thanks Marc :)

Edit---don't know how that red thumb appeared in post .

I see you are Anthem. Could you tell me the name of the host on Anthem? I realize it MAY change by our sail the beginning of June but thought you may know. Last host on Liberty was of no help whatsoever and was leaving so glad I will be seeing a new host. Loved the host on Quantum last year - Helen. She was amazing!

    Thanks,

    Swiss
