I booked a 14 night cruise for April 2017. Booking an aqua class it included all 3 perks. This seems like a bait and switch. Celebrity increases the price of the drink package and makes you pay the difference between old and new prices to upgrade when it is supposed to be included. Isn't that an illegal practice? Sounds like a scam. At this time it appears that Celebrity intended to do this all along while offering all these perks. Next it will be an increase in gratuities or hey, why not increase the fare? Great way to lose customers.

I skipped the specialty restaurants on my last cruise. I felt they were overpriced and MDR food was pretty good. I had the ultimate drink package on my last cruise and it worked out great. It is well worth the extra dollars.

SHIP: Equinox
CABIN #: 8344
DECK #: Vista-Deck 8
CLASS: SV
AREA: Aft
BED NEAR: Balcony
QUIET?: Yes-very quiet
BALCONY VIEW: Aft-wake view-nice!
BALCONY SIZE: oversize
WIND A PROBLEM?: No
SOOT A PROBLEM?: Just a little
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:
I really liked this cabin. It is a long walk from the cabin to the elevators but you get used to it. There is a soot/smoke smell that I didn't like on the balcony. The soot wasn't too bad. It was very hot out there. Difficult to stay on balcony because of smell and sun too strong.

I really like this ship. Just went on a 10 day in December which was my 2nd time on Equinox. I thought the food was very good overall in the MDR and buffet. The buffet food can get a little monotonous after a while. I enjoyed Café el Bacio each day and the drinks were always flowing at the Mast Bar and the Sunset bar. We had a sunset veranda cabin this time and enjoyed the scenery and the wake from the ship. This was a relaxing cruise. Our next scheduled cruise is the 14 day on the Eclipse out of Miami. That is the ultimate Caribbean cruise in my eyes! Have a great time on the Equinox!

I invested in the drink package on my last Celebrity cruise (it as well worth it), consumption varied depending on port or sea day:
2 specialty coffees
1 fresh OJ
2 Sodas
1-2 Frozen drinks
2 cordials
wine or cocktail w/dinner
Large bottle of water with dinner
2 Martini's
2+ Bottled Water throughout the day
On our last cruise we kept a log on what we drank just to see. I averaged 8-10 alcoholic drinks a day .
We had a great time! :p

Great pictures! Very creative and captures the moment. Thank you for sharing.

Great review and video! Thank you for posting. We are sailing on the Equinox in December and this is first time we will be all the way aft. I am looking forward to those beautiful sunsets and the sounds of the wake.

I really enjoyed my cruise on the Equinox last year. I am scheduled to go again in December. The one thing I missed on my cruise last year was steel drum music. I mentioned this on my survey and I am hoping to have some steel drum music on my cruise this year! I hope you are reading this Celebrity!

The last few times in St. Kitts, I encountered the monkeys. I got suckered in the first time and the 2nd time it was caught up in the cuteness. The last time, I avoided the monkey handlers and said no thank you. I was not forced or bothered when saying NO. No Thank you works! I do agree that this should be illegal because it is taking advantage of these beautiful little creatures.

Just reviewed listing of Equinox sailings and the ship gets into Malaga, Spain on April 27 and is not scheduled to sail again until May 8.

It was worth it! We loved not having a bill at the end of the cruise and the convenience was also a huge part. We purchased the Ultimate package last time. Yes, it was pricey but we made sure we used it to our advantage. We had plenty of bottled water, specialty coffees, fresh squeezed OJ and cocktails every day. I paced myself and only overindulged one night. :eek:The next cruise the Classic is included but we will be upgrading before sailing.

Our TA posts that there is a "group scheduled for this cruise" when that particular cruise is being looked at. That happened during our last cruise and it was a Harley motorcycle club. They were a great bunch and it was amazing to see the bikes go on and off the ship.
Yes, Google works too.

We sailed last March and I felt a little motion the first night but after that it was smooth. I normally take Dramamine the first night only. Once I get my sea legs, I am OK. Everyone is different. That was my first X cruise (Equinox) and I thought the ship ran smoothly through the ocean. I felt less motion on Equinox than on a Princess ship. Have fun!

We booked a Sunset Veranda on the Equinox for Dec. 2014. I have been researching on CC but need a direct answer. Is there much vibration in the SV cabins? I have been reading about soot as well. Has anyone had problems with soot?
We sailed in a C3 last time and I have been reading about the poor quality of the bath towels. Just how bad are they?
I am looking forward to staying in the SV cabin this time mainly because of the views. This will be a first! Thanks everyone.

Here are my thoughts, when you purchase a cruise they know your age. Does Celebrity, or any other cruise line use this information to their advantage? Do they update the activities and music based on range of ages on that particular cruise? They should. It would be wise of them to be flexible on their daily activities, music, etc.
I must admit that on my last cruise with Celebrity the daily activities were less than interesting to me but that is my opinion. The one thing I really enjoy was missing which was the Caribbean Steel drum music. I look forward to hearing some on an island cruise.

I can tell you that top shelf liquors are not included. You have a limit of $8.00 per drink on the Classic Package. You also do not get Fresh squeezed OJ. That is a nice plus each morning. Anything over the $8 you pay in full. If you upgrade to the Premium package, you are able to enjoy a cocktail up to $12. Anything over the $12 you pay the difference.
I guess it depends on what you like. Here is a list to help from their website regarding the Classic Drink Package:
Celebrity Cruises proudly partners with following brands to offer you, our guests, greater pleasure and value. Package selections include, but are not limited to the following brands:

Since you pay for grats on a daily basis, it is up to the individual. I normally tip out servers, bartenders and room steward. When I get room service, I tip out a few dollars. Being from the hospitality industry, I tend to offer a little more because I know how small their paychecks might be.
On the last cruise the steward wasn't the nicest so I didn't tip as much as I normally do. The MDR servers were excellent and very accommodating. Yes, they received a decent grat.

We enjoyed the drink package on our last cruise. it was so nice not to have to sign for everything. We were able to have fresh squeezed OJ every day, bottled water, top shelf drinks, soft drinks, specialty coffees, etc. It was nice. We upgraded to the Ultimate package. I guess is depends if you want the convenience it is worth it. We are going to partake again in December 2014. Everyone is different regarding consumption. It is for all beverages not just alcoholic.

We took the St. John excursion and the island is beautiful. We are so happy we went. We will go back again. However, we did not like the boat we were on. We felt unsafe. The tropical heavy rain was upon us as we went to St. John and also when we returned. Passengers were crammed inside or were soaked outside. That was very unpleasant. The next time we will go on our own. The boat also stopped by an RCL ship and picked up passengers to go on the same excursion. I just wanted you to know our experience.
Beverage Package Pricing Increase
in Celebrity Cruises

I'm not cancelling. I just misunderstood. My agreement with Celebrity has a value so My concern is when I upgrade is it based on the New pricing.
