Is it typical for Crown Grill to be “sold out” of dining times? I just went to make a reservation, and there is no availability. I have thought about Sabatini’s, but my spouse is on a keto diet. So, I would be eating all the pasta and bread; not that there’s anything wrong with that! I just don’t know if we would get our money’s worth, if carbs are out of the question?
Go to the CG as soon as you board the ship. You will prob be able to make a reservation

What about a kettle? On NCL we were able to get a coffee pot. Which we were very surprised by. I know when sailing around the British isles they supply a kettle.
Nothing with a heating element

You do realize that there is no longer a coffee only package or card? Cannot swap for something that does not exist.
Did you even read what I wrote?

We enjoyed our recent meal on the Sky. My veal marsala was so tender and yummy!

Was very sad but not surprised to discover the coffee swap was no longer available 🥺. Thankfully the free Lavazza coffee being offered now is much better than the old sludge!
on the Sky….that we were just on, I swapped each week for a mix of liquor, soda and water…..give me 2 of these, 4 of those, 8 of those……

For those who might need information on the most forward cabins on Emerald deck 8. I just got off 14 nights on the Sky Princess in E102.
E102 is the first forward cabin on the starboard side. From the external view of the ship, it might look like this room is the 2nd cabin in the row, but the first opening is just a walkway and not a balcony. Continuing past this cabin is an emergency exit door, which leads to another door that leads to the outside crew pool.
Although sold as an obstructed view, there is no real obstruction. It is designated this way because the balcony does not have a see-thru glass wall under the railing. I was concerned that this 1st cabin would have a much smaller balcony than normal, but there was plenty of room for the 2 adjustable chairs and a little round table.
The interior is the same as any other deluxe balcony. The room is spacious with plenty of storage space. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is standard with the infamous Princess shower curtain that is waiting to get to know you better 😊
The cabin is above the theatre, but we never heard any noise from below.
Speaking of noise, as you would expect, there are 2 problems with this cabin – motion & noise!
There is a lot of noise early in the morning when the ship is docking or at a tender location. There are some other random noises here n there from the crew side next door, but nothing that bothered us while trying to sleep. This location would not be good for night owls who like to sleep in!
There is more motion in the front of the ship in general and a lot of vibration during the docking & tendering procedures, as well as when the stabilizers are being used. The seas were quite wavy for our first few days at sea, and we certainly felt the motion more than we are used to. This did not pose a problem for us, but I would not recommend being this forward for anyone concerned about motion sickness.
I did have some concerns leading up to the cruise, but in the end this cabin did not pose any problems for us.

Thanks for the reply.
how do I do status match? Did not know about this.
I found TA near here and can do it online with them in CAD, I prefer.
what are best aft facing balcony cabins, you would suggest?
I cannot find their information on deposits- refundable, or non?
I am currently on the Meraviglia…my first MSC cruise. FYI, you should keep an eye on the MSC .ca site, and make sure you are on the mailing list. I was ready to book via a TA, and then I got an email
about a Can flash sale on their site. It was by far the best price available, much better than even the best US deal.
the status match is easy. Follow the steps right away so that your account will be ready with the extra discount if you go ahead with a future booking.

The onboard price is higher. They advertise the preboard price as "save up to 85%" from buying the package on board. Thinking about that amount, I may be wrong in my memory of the percent, but it was definitely a significant savings.
I am confirming that what you said is correct. I don’t have the numbers in front of me now, but when I had done the math when I first boarded, it was cheaper to buy in advance than on board with the 10% discount.
-
Is the onboard price higher than the advanced purchase? I am not seeing it stated on the app that the price is discounted at all.

Hello. It is my first time sailing with MSC. I have status match, which provides 10% off on wifi. Is this discount reflected in the pre-sailing price on the app? Is it cheaper to book it in advance vs onboard (after sailing to avoid tax)?
Thank you

If I recall from last April '22, I believe they went to 70lbs. However, I was more impressed that they had barbells and a rack! First I've ever seen on a cruise ship. I did have to swipe some of the 45lb plates from the becnh press rack when doing deadlifts, oh well, they should gotten there first! (I did share with some guys between sets LOL). I did put some yoga mats underneath to keep from making too much noise. The ceiling was just barely high enough for me to also do clean and jerks, and I'm 6'2". One of the best at-sea gyms I've been in!
And, yes, I'm one of those cruisers who are there at 0659 waiting for them to open the doors...it's a problem I have.
Thanks for the info! Was hoping for 80s, but 70 is still good as many gyms only go to 50

Hello
I will be going on my first MSC cruise, and was hoping that someone who is on board can tell me what the heaviest weight dumbbell is?
thanks in advance….

We also did self walk off and we’re at the front of the line for testing. We went straight to the airport and had to wait for the result to come in before we could check in. It took 2 hrs! Based on my experience and the troubles that others have posted with the testing, I would not chance an 11am flight if the 1pm is available. Better to air on the side of caution! Hopefully they will be more organized & efficient by then, but right now the testing setup is quite a mess!

We got off the Sky yesterday: did self walk off a little after 7:30am and cleared customs very quickly. We then found the testing area right outside where you would be lining up to get into the terminal or getting a taxi, or doing the baggage drop-off. At that time we only had a couple of people in front of us and did the PCR test and were off to the airport. They said the emailed results would take 30-60 minutes to arrive…..it took 2 hours……thankfully negative! Our flight was at 1pm and was delayed. We had way too much time to spend in the airport 😝

I was sick prior to our mid Jan cruise. The only symptom was a terrible dry cough that would not go away....I had it for about a month and was lucky that it cleared right before we travelled. My Dr. was sure I had pneumonia, and I did go on antibiotics, but that test came back nagative. I did get the flu shot as I normally do.
I had thought that what I had was very strange and something different prior to the covid19 insanity. I had seen other news related stories about this type of cough that started circulating back in Dec and would come back negative for all tests.....

At first my cruise next deposits showed in my account as double what they should have been....but that was corrected when the FCC finally appeared. The FCC is missing $100+, and the split between my wife and I is not even close to being even.

Hello,
I am looking at a 2021 Bermuda cruise on the Joy and was wondering if anyone has any info for the following cabins....which are either angled or show on the deck plan as having "white space" at the end of them:
10898
10942
10346
11296
Thanks in advance....and everyone stay safe & healthy!

I am considering a sailing on the Epic, but the negative reviews are making me think otherwise. While I take comments regarding food and staff with a grain of salt, my biggest concern at the moment is the size of the bed. I am 6'3'', and I think it will be a deal breaker to have the lower part of my legs hanging off the end of the bed.
Can any tall people who have sailed on the Epic please weigh in on this???
Any other comments on recent Epic sailings would also be appreciated
Thanks!

Don’t know. It could be old information that they have not removed from their site.
