Yes, they do go fast!  Do you have a Carnival PVP?  If so, your PVP can look up which sailings still have Vista Suites available.  Mine has done this for me, as well as looked up which sailings to a particular port still had one very exclusive excursion still available and helped me lock it down.  This particular feat would have been impossible for me to do on my own.

I do not have a PVP. I have been doing alot of research between Carnival and 1 other cruise line. I want us to have a great time, I really love the Vista Suite, is Carnival a good cruise line for Alaska?

  2. Hello out there everyone. I apologize if this has been asked before. Please bare with me. I'm trying to plan a Cruise to Alaska for DH and me. Every time I look up cruises for Alaska on Carnival Spirit I try to see if I can get a Vista Suite but the option is never available no matter what dates I put in. How do I get a Vista Suite? Do they just sell out that fast, or am I not allowed to book one? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Looked through alot of post and maybe this question was asked. I do apologize if it has but could use some info from others. We are considering a Premium Suite on Discovery, perhaps C101 or D122. Can anyone tell me how the room was? Was there alot a swaying and wind? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly.

  4. We are new to Princess. Have cruised several times with other cruise lines. Forgive me if this question has been answered. Trying to decide between Owners Suite or Penthoyse Suite on Discovery. Do you get anything extra if you book Owners Suite since it is more expensive or are all the extras the same for both style Suites? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly.

  5. Sorry if this has been asked, but so many forums. I would like advice on which route to go. I have a private TA who helps book our cruises but she retired. Today, Princess Cruises called with their TA. Should I find a new private TA or try out one from Princess? Can I trust them with my travel Plans? Please help.

  6. Its everyone's own decision whether or not to wear a mask. They are going to start making it mandatory again if the outbreak increases. I know at work it is mandatory again because COVID is climbing once more. But take in consideration that we are starting to have this outbreak again and if we all choose not to wear mask they will start canceling cruises once more and we will stuck at home again. I know wearing mask are bothersome, but I personally would rather wear a mask for a little while until I return to my suite, then lose a chance at cruising again. May we all be safe and COVID free.

I will attempt a live from, internet and CC permitting! If you are on this sailing, please feel free to add your posts!

    Background

Sailing this time is myself and DS (10). Just 6 days ago we got off NCL Bliss doing this exact itinerary. We live in Vancouver, so these coastal s are faves for us. We haven’t been on Princess since pre Covid- sept 2019. This was one of our best sailings, marking the 4th trip in a year with Matt O! I’m not sure how much we will enjoy princess without Matt, but going in with an open mind and hoping to have a blast!

    Pre Cruise

This was not ideal! We have sailed medallion class many times before the app and loved it. Sadly, the app has taken away much of the pre cruise excitement and replaced it with frustration! First off, my perfectly good iPhone 6 was not compatible with the app. At that time, there was no web version to use and I reluctantly upgraded my phone (much to my teens delight as she now has the brand new iPhone 12 which also didn’t work well with the app). I was able to get to the green lane after many hours of switching between app and web. However I was never able to choose an arrival time or complete the health questionnaire. It was made even more infuriating with all the emails from princess reminding me to complete these steps! I gave up and will just roll with it.

Originally, I went with this sailing as the departure time from LA was 11pm. I’m not one to fly in day of but with this late time I felt confident in doing so. I booked EZAir at a decent price and was ready to roll. Then they changed departure time to 5pm and my flight was just not going to cut it! Four hours on hold and I had a flight the day before and now needed to pay for a hotel. I booked Crowne Plaza again - we just stayed there two weeks ago and it suited us fine.

    Testing

We still need negative tests to fly to US as well as to board, so I booked a proctored session through azova.com and used my own free rapid tests. Went off without a hitch and both negative! Completed ArriveCAN easily and checked in for air Canada flight, uploading proof of vax and proof of negative test. Ready to roll!

We are very familiar with transportation in Vancouver, living downtown so we hopped on the Canada line to the airport and breezed through security and US CBP. Currently having dinner at the Canucks Bat and Grill!

LOVE THE RED SOX SWEATSHIRT!!! I grew up in Boston. Fenway Park every chance I got. Also food looks delicious 😋

  8. I love everything about our cruises. I try to never complain. I learned a long time ago to live positive, be happy all the time, and find good in everything no matter how small.  Make memories not sadness. The staff is always wonderful, they have a hard job and deal with petty complaints.

The mini bar has nothing to do with the drink package.  It is only given those in a suite or are elite.  Since you are in a suite you will get the mini bar and it will be free.

    Thank you kindly.

  10. I'm new to the mini bar suite so please forgive me if this has already been answered. We will be sailing to Alaska this year and it is the first time we are in an Owners Suite. We paid for the drink package. My question is, and again forgive me if it has been answered, are the drinks in the mini fridge free to drink if I paid for the drink package or do I still have to pay for them if we drink any? Thank you in advance.

  11. Thank you everyone on this post. I respect everyone's opinions, research, lost loved ones, and frequent travelers. I pray we can all get to a point where we can just travel hassel free again. Where we don't get sick and have to quarantine. I bless all of us for safe travels and love everyone's safety measures. I hope to hear more. Thank you HaveDogWillTravel. I read the article.

  12. Yes it is mostly airborne but I work in disease and terminal children and here are some new facts that show some strains of COVID can last on certain surfaces for hours to days. Though it is not as severe as airborne we can still carry the strain by touching a surface and then touching our face or eating.. It is better safe then sorry. I have been using natural oils for years, it is harmless and actually good for your breathing,, and yes I have lost both my parents and a 5 year old grandchild to COVID. So I'm extra careful and try to help others with advice.
