I live in SD and I also would not do this tour. The better wineries are in Temecula which is much further away. Keep in mind there are some amazing wine lists at restaurants in Little Italy (which is 10 minute walk from the boat).
We were actually going more for the scenery and wineries, but I do love a good moscato!

LtC, obviously, there are no "great" wineries in San Diego. So, if you think you are going to be able to taste a great undiscovered wine, I can assure you that you will be disappointed. For what it's worth, the red wines will be better than the whites.
I clicked on the link that you posted and read about the tour. It is not clear to me why the Salerno part of the tour received "not so great" reviews. However, the "pizza pairing" sounded pretty neat to me. If it really is made from fresh ingredients and baked right in front of you, that sounds great. I would not be concerned at all about what I thought about the wine they paired with it. If the "not so great" reviews were regarding the pizza, then I may be a bit hesitant. However, again, I would still read carefully to see what they didn't like about the pizza. Did they not offer a specific pizza that the critic likes--e.g., pepperoni and cheese? Were the ingredients "weird?" (I'm not exactly sure what "weird" ingredients are, but I often see comments on Cruise Critics that a poster did not like a meal or a restaurant--or they avoid a certain venue--because they don't like "weird" ingredients.)
Generally, my winery visits have been pleasant, enjoyable experiences. Most wineries understand that they are in the hospitality business and do a good job of being, well, hospitable. On the other hand I have visited with a winery owner/winemaker who could best be described as a grouch. :( I chose to think that it was just his way of being honest. By the end of the tasting, we were buds and I bought a case of wine from him. :)
If you do go, I hope you come back here and give us a report. It may help the next person.
I read some reviews that sAid that since new management took over that the food and service have all suffered greatly. Some said that the pizza was off the menu for a while and they were serving frozen ready made food. Regulars said they don't go any more because it has gone down so much. I am rethinking doing this tour

We have stayed at the Monaco in the past and LOVED it! They offer a car service to the pier (extra charge). We wAlked to pikes market and found a wonderful deli a couple blocks away for breakfast. It's been a couple years since we stayed there, so I'm not sure if anything has changed.

Princess Chicken and Cashew Waldorf Salad
2 ½ oz. cashews
2 c. roasted chicken cut in bite-size pieces
1 Granny Smith apple; cored, peeled and chopped
2 celery stalks, sliced diagonally
½ small onion, chopped
⅓ c. mayonnaise
⅓ c. plain yogurt
⅓ c. coconut milk
1 t. Worcestershire sauce
½ t. grated lemon zest
1 pinch grated nutmeg
Salt and white pepper
Preheat oven to 350° F. Place cashews on a dry baking sheet in a single even layer. Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes until cashews are toasted and lightly browned. Remove from oven. Cool completely before adding to salad. Reserve 2 T. cashews for garnish.
Stir together mayonnaise, yogurt and coconut milk in a small bowl. Add Worcestershire sauce, nutmeg, and lemon zest and blend well. Add salt and pepper to taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
In a medium bowl, combine chicken, apple, celery, onion and toasted cashews. Pour the mayonnaise mixture on top and mix well.
Garnish with reserved 2 T. cashews and serve.
Sounds delicious!

Does anyone know which dining room is used for the traditional dining?

All these are based on a private SUV or van. There are 4 of us with luggage, so a car is not big enough.
OnTime1 quoted me $65 each way.
Airport ASAP quoted me $69 each way
Super Shuttle quoted me $164 each way
Prime Time Shuttle quoted me $103 each way
Execucar quoted me $121 each way
GoSedan quoted me $81 each way
Zippy Shuttle quoted $125 each way
I think that based on the reviews I have read and recommendations I might go with OnTime1. He is the only one that told me there was no tax - it was a flat fee (plus tip)
Thanks for the feedback!

I checked both the West Coast departures section and the CA coastal section.
I have read nothing but bad reviews about BOTH of these companies! I checked Yelp and TripAdvisor. I found some good reviews on Airport ASAP, but I was hoping to find someone that actually used them, since the reviews were over a year old.

Thanks! These are the ones that I found. The newest is from 2014 :(
Have you used them?

Has anyone used Airport ASAP Limousine Service from LAX? He has really great rates, but I can't seem to find any current reviews. The reviews that I found are all great, but they are over a year old. Thanks!

I know I saw some information on this in a thread, but I can't seem to find it now. Does anyone have a car service they can recommend for transfer from LAX to San Pedro? We don't want to do a shared vehicle. There will be 4 of us with luggage, so it has to be at least an SUV.
Thanks for the help!

Does anyone have a good shuttle service that they can recommend? We want to do a private vehicle from the airport to the cruise terminal and then back after the cruise.
Thanks!

I am interested in finding out as well. We have the unlimited drink package and the teas are included :)

In San Francisco, I always recommend Ike's Place. Best sandwich I've ever had. I recommend getting the Matt Cain on the Dutch Crunch bread.
Is this near fisher mans wharf?

Thank you all for the feedback! I really appreciate it :):):)

Hi everyone! Has anyone done the SAUSALITO & MUIR WOODS tour in San Francisco?
If we get dropped off at Fishermans Wharf, how far is it back to the ship? Do we just catch a cab?
Any other suggestions for excursions on this trip? I have been on over 20 cruises, but this is our first CA Coastal trip! We are really excited!
Thank you for the help :D:D

Thanks for the great photos! We are doing the CA Coastal cruise later this year on the Ruby. I can't wait!!
