Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. The Aqua sky suite is probably worth $200 more than SS but the Sunset sky suite is just not for us.
  2. Thanks very much for the info. This will be my first CC cruise in over 20 years. We got an IV in a good location so I think I'll pass on rolling the MoveUp dice.
  3. Your response makes a lot of sense but it's also what prompted the question. The MoveUp offer had Sky Suite and Aqua Sky Suite as different possibilities but did not mention Magic Carpet Sky Suite. I guess there's S1, S2 and S3 as sky suite categories and AS in it's own separate category although they still call it a sky suite.
  4. We are in an IV in an upcoming Apex cruise and have received the MoveUp email. I looked at the availabilty of Sky Suites but there are only a very few available. Most of the Magic Carpet Sky Suites are available but the MoveUp offer doesn't show an ability to make an offer for one of them. If we bid on a SS will we possibly get a MCSS? If not, why are they not on MoveUp offer?
  5. Maybe that's where we went wrong. We didn't actually book a future cruise but made a deposit on a "Future Cruise Certificate" that offered "On Board Savings". There was nothing prohibiting combination in the Terms and Conditions of either the Certificate or the 4-cat upgrade promotion. I asked the Ambassador if they were combinable and was told they where (we were actually on a 4-cat upgrade cruise at the time). And, as I remember, Oceania had a very difficult time combining that 4-cat upgrade with a Future Cruise Credit from a previously cancelled cruise.
  6. I guess it's Oceania decision to make but they should put it in the Terms and Conditions and it's not. In the Ultimate Olife offer they did but not the 4-cat offer. Kind of like a bait and switch. That's not right.
  7. You should have been able to do both the 4-cat upgrade and the onboard bonus.
  8. Last year we went on a cruise purchased using a 4 category upgrade holiday sale. Paid for a A1 and received a PH3. Not exactly a "4 category upgrade" but a good deal nonetheless. Saved a few hundred dollars. On the cruise last year we bought a Future cruise Deposit Certificate offering an Onboard Savings of $600 on a 10 - 19 day cruise. We were thinking that we would take advantage this year of a 4 category upgrade sale and use the $600 onboard savings also. Long story short - when we came to book during the Memorial Day sale they wouldn't let us combine the two. Nothing specifically anywhere said we couldn't combine and when we did the FCD onboard the Oceania Ambassador understood exactly what we intended to do but said nothing. I guess Oceania decided they weren't making enough money by letting us combine. Really enjoyed cruising with Oceania but no more.
  9. Has anyone tried to use a future cruise deposit certificate with the Memorial Day sale?
