Lately May has been a good month weatherwise in Denmark.

I'm no expert on this but I think that most tour operators in Sankt Petersburg offers tours in the other cities as well.
Or else you can contact the people at guides.dk, its the official guide union for Denmark.
There is also the "free" walking tour.
But its a little bit dodgy.
The tour is called free but the guides don't get a salary.
They only get payed if they get a tip.
I understand that some people here on this board don't see a problem with this business model but they don't work there either 🙂
Problems like to report how much you earn in order to pay tax.
Pension savings are non existing.
The guides can't be sure about their monthly income because they don't now how many people there will be on their tour and how much they will pay.

The Øresund train is actually 1 minute faster to reach Hellerup. 🙂

Just a quick note.
The train numbers are not listed on the destination boards.
Only the departure time, type of train and destination.
Most useful train is the Øresundstog train (marked with the letter Ø in a green square) with destinations like Helsingør and Nivå when going from the airport towards Østerport.
When going from Østerport to the airport the destination is either any of the swedish town's (Göteborg, Kalmar, Växjö etc) or the airport.

You can't compare these 2 line.
The Circle line is 15,5 kilometers long with 17 Underground stations.
The north harbour line is like 3 or 4 kilometers long with 1 underground station and 1 overground station and only around 1,8 kilometers of tunnel.
The tunnels are done, the tracks has been layed and the official opening by the metro company is still spring 2020.
That can off course both mean early March but also late May.
I understand that we danes can be very pessimistic and negative at times (like all the time) but on this one I trust then to be ready in time.
I would like to bet you a beer on it. 🙂

Guys, today is the day when the city Circle metro line opens.
So if any cruisers are in town (i know there is some ships in port) then join the festivities at Frederiksberg or Town hall square.
Service should start at 16:00 but I'll expect the line to be very busy today.
Personally I have time off tomorrow so I'll do the trip tomorrow.
Regarding the M4 line out towards the cruise pier it is still expected to open in Spring 2020.
But until that time it isn't certain how things will operate out there.
I'm still thinking that they will cut the 25 bus from Nørreport so it only runs from the cruise terminal to the Orientkaj Metro station, it will only be a short 5 minute trip a d the metro will stop at most tourist sites in downtown Copenhagen and it will be easy to get to the airport.

Recommended arrival time for us flights is 3 hours!!!!!!!!!
But assuming you can be at the airport around 9 then it should not be a problem.
Travel time with taxi is around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.
So you should leave the port no later than 08:30.
-
It also depends on your destination.
Flights outside Europe (including UK) requires a possible long line at the passport control and if it's a flight to USA you also need to clear the US pre check.
If you are going overseas but has a layover in Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt etc you will handle all that stuff in these airports.
Ideally you will have to be at the airport at 7:30 to 8:00 to be on the safe side so leave the ship around 7.
Remember that it can take some time to check in your luggage, clear security, walk to the pier and perhaps also pass control.
-
Sorry I was to tired when i posted yesterday, you do indeed need to clear the passport control when flying from Copenhagen to London.
I don't know why I posted otherwise.
Sorry if I confused anyone.
US pre check will off course happen at London as Hallasm wrote.
-
The difference is that if you fly directly from Copenhagen you need to clear the passport control.
Flying through London you handle it there instead.

Agreed, the busses are parked in s way so its not possible to see her from the bus.
And a little disclaimer, she is called the Little Mermaid so she is very little.
So don't expect any statue of liberty sized statues that some wierdly expect.

This line is very short with 2 stations so its not as complex as M3 and there has been no reports of setbacks or delays of any kind.
Current scheduled opening is spring 2020 and they will start test runs this fall and winter.
So yes I believe that M4 is operating when Dolce By Wyndham opens in early 2021.

If you are cruising 2021 then you can book the Dolce by Wyndham.
Its will be located just next to the Orientkaj Metro station and here there will be easy access to downtown Copenhagen with the metro line M4.
For travelling to the cruise pier (Oceankaj) you can get bus 27 and I'm almost 100% sure that bus 25 will stop here as well.
But we will first know this spring.

You will suggest a few things to do, especially with a child. 🙂
Zoo, now with Panda bears. 🙂
Blue Planet aquarium.
Experimentarium kids science museum.
Frilandsmuseet open air museum.
Viking ship museum in Roskilde.
Its very easy to take the car to Billund, there is a motorway almost all the way.
Just remember that you have to pay for the bridge toll to cross the Storebælt bridge.
-
The Danish resistance museum will reopen in May next year after a couple of years of rebuild after a devastating fire some years ago.

Here is a little info for those of you travelling to Copenhagen next year from California.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has moved their LAX Stockholm route to Copenhagen starting from January 20th.
During the summer timetable there will be daily departures from both airports.
Nothing has been announced about San Francisco yet so I assume they also will have daily departures from there just like now.

Germany is not on the same level as the Nordic countries regarding cashless society.
I have my debet card Visa Electron from Nordea (I think its called Nordea Pay or Visa Pay now) declined in ticket machines in Berlin and a taxi in Düsseldorf only accepted Cash as payment.
And on the service stations on the autobahn they don't like small purchases payed by credit card.
My experiences is a few years old so it might have changed but these issues have never appeared in other similar countries.

First of all I would look for one of the Scandic hotels because they include breakfast.
If you rent a car (as I would suggest) then its probably easier to hit up one of their locations in Sluseholmen, Kødbyen or Falkoner as they probably has better and cheaper parking facilities...
The reason why I would suggest a car is that southern Sweden is very rural so getting around on trains and busses might work if you are familier with using trains and busses but a car is lots easier.
Just remember your passport when crossing the bridge or taking the ferry.
A guide would probably be mega expensive so its probably better to look at the local tourist informations website to see what they can offer and plan your travel yourself.
For a start of you do only Malmö and Lund you can drop the car but if you are interested in the Wallander crime novels then a visit to Ystad could be interesting.
There is also some interesting nature landscapes on Skånes East coast that could be interesting to see if you headed there anyway.
-
Søstrene Grene and Normal could also be a good place to look for such things that Flying Tiger has.
-
I was pointing at the fact that I am a supporter of Liverpool FC.
So I know a little bit about Scousers 🙂
I am familier with the comedian John Bishop and he can be hard to understand.

I also prefer English with a Liverpool accent, wonder why 🙂
-
Hallasm is right because Skåne is the southern province in Sweden so don't pronounce it that way. 🙂
The G is silent so you are not far off and now I'm not that good in english so excuse me if I'm using the wrong term
But you'll need to put pressure on the letter A.
So something like SkA(g)en.
Hope it makes sense 🙂

The citypass small might be an option for your.
You can get it in a 24, 48, 72, 96 and 120 hour version.
Its gets you unlimited travels in zone 1 to 4 (basically all of Copenhagen, cruise port and the airport).

Btw talking about tickets.
Will the 1,60 kroner quality/comfort for using the new metro only be charge for Rejsekort costumers.
If you buy a paper ticket there is no way to tell if you gonna use the metro or just the bus.
So I'm guessing that its only Rejsekort travellers that will be charged the extra fee.
Wonderful Copenhagen 2019.

I'll take it that you don't know how the Danish wellfare system works 🙂
But this is clearly not the subject of this forum and I should never have voiced my opinion on that matter.
