  1. We enjoyed getting dressed up on HAL, but those were also the days of cruislineformalwear.com which made it easy. I have a tux but not real fond of schlepping it on the airplane so leave it at home. Maybe someday... Right now, my wife wears a nice skirt and blouse, I wear black or navy cargo pants (that you can't really tell) and some kind of button up shirt (often a really nice Hawaiian shirt, think Nat Nast, Tommy Bahama, or the like). Some of our favorite pics of us are on formal night in my tux and my wife wearing some of her nicer pieces of jewelry.
  2. We take a laptop on every cruise. Most of the time it stays on the desk in the cabin. Occasionally, (if I'm feeling paranoid), I'll hide it somewhere. I'm not overly concerned about crew but depending on where we are on the ship, I may take a few more precautions.
  3. We were on the Beyond in January (AQ class which is essentially the same cabin as any infinite veranda). I used the deck plan, with the bump out' to select a cabin with the bed near the veranda. The way the beds are installed, the bump out also gives room for end table(s) and plugs (it also provides a few extra inches of walking space between the bed and the wall. If the bed were just on the 'blank wall', there wouldn't be any plugs for your phone charger. Others may have a different experience so that would be interesting to hear about.
  4. Like @davekathy, I wear slacks (actually very nice cargo pants) and a polo on most nights. On Chic nite, I swap the polo for some kind of button down, usually a really nice Hawaiian shirt. Have never felt out of place on X that way. Sometimes I do miss not wearing a tux..., but not that much.
