Genius! We love our enos hammocks'.  You mentioned placing your hammock in others areas, do you have pics of those as well?

We don't hang the hammock in any other place on the ship, except to use as a shade for a Serenity clam shell. We just clip the clips to the underneath of the clam shell "roof" and use for either a wind breaker or a shade. We have hung our hammock in many countries but I don't have photos on this laptop since it is new. They are on my storage drive, which is unfortunately, not wireless. Its a pain.

  2. I'm sorry, I was thinking about another reservation. For the Chef's Table, because it isn't paid ahead, I did not receive an email. I did find this at the bottom of the first reservation window. Hopefully it is helpful.

Thanks for all the answers. We usually book aft balconies so maybe that's the reason why we've never been offered one. On the groups I'm on it seems like everyone was getting them so I wondered if I was missing something. I know that most of them aren't that great of a deal and sometimes they are just trying to push a bad location. It would be nice to at least have a chance to say no though.

We once "upgraded" from an aft balcony to a suite with a REFUND of $75 because suites don't generally sell well on San Juan itineraries. There is hope 😃 I will say that I found that myself and did not receive any email about it. I missed an email for an upgrade on my next cruise (yesterday) and was so mad at myself. I am an agent, so the email came to my TA email box. It came through after I had shut down for the day . By the time I got to it, the offer was expired. I am happy with my cabin for this trip though, but you always wonder 'what could have been' - sigh 😌

I signed up for it over a month ago, we don't cruise until October but I have not received ANYTHING.  This happened last year when we signed up for the steakhouse, no response and day 3 of our cruise we got a call confirming our reservation.  I like to plan, if I know what day it is prior to boarding I wouldn't even look at the MDR menu that day.

My cruise is a week from Sunday. I haven't gotten anything except the confirmation of purchase. I don't expect to know the day until after boarding. I messes with my planning, but it is what it is I guess.

  5. If you sign into your Carnival account and go to your booking, you can see the schedule for the salon if you walk through the process of booking. I can't tell from there if there are multiple appointments in each time block, but if you book one and then your friend goes in to thier account you can see if the same time shows up for your friends to also choose. You can always go right back and cancel or change the service if you don't get the results that you desire for appt times. When I sail with friends, we usually get together a couple days before we leave home for mani/pedi day at our local place. For the price of a mani aboard the ship, we can get a mani & gel pedi . Also, we are guaranteed to go altogether.

  6. We discovered cruising kind of late (2006) and Carnival in 2012, but were trying to make up for lost time! We only enjoyed one midnight buffet before they were gone, but havent really missed it. I miss pillow chocolates a little. I miss completely free room service, but do appreciate the new offerings. I miss shrimp salad and turkey on a country roll. I enjoy reading about things from before my cruising days.

Just wait until you have been Platinum for awhile or on your way to Diamond and your attitude will change. It happens to everyone.  Not sure when it will happen, but one day something will happen that will change your view, like spending 20 minutes in line at GS behind a Blue card with FTTF who is not happy because they don’t use real glasses at bars located in pool areas.

People of all status levels pull this crap. For me, it's the behavior that is frustrating, not what color thier card happens to be. Well, when its someone who has cruised a lot, you may be extra annoyed because they ought to know better.

  8. My favorite feature of FTTF has always been early debarkation. That process has been the most stressful part of cruising for me and I appreciate the ability to (sometimes) avoid the chaos of the regular self assist debarkation. My cruise in Feb will be my platinum cruise and Im not so enamoured by that in itself, but that I wont have to pay extra in order to disembark first.

  9. My daughter debarked from the Magic this morning. She was not priority and it was a typical debarkation. Ive cruised a few times with the new tag procedure. I believe it gives passengers some choices they didnt have previously plus I bet there is a lot less waste.

Do you happen to have a picture of the clamshell with the Sarong scarf? That sounds like a neat idea.  Thanks!

We usually use our hammock for this now since it is bigger and has built in clips, but we used to use a microfiber towel or beach wrap. Depending on the size you may not even need a clip or clamp. The clam shells we have used have a wire-like form on the underside which you can tuck the end of a towel or wrap into very snug, wrapping it under a couple times if it is windy. Super simple and can be done by re-purposing one of several things you may already have with you.

  11. I have seen people upgraded gor free and not given spa access on several ocassions. They were actually informed of this when the upgrade was offered. Hopefully things are different for the OP. I would take the upgrade even without the access, as long as it was a good quiet cabin. Its my favorite area of the ship!

I will also add (and not being a smart ass) that google can be a huge friend. I looked and didn't find a specific video (better than pics in my opinion) of that number and ship combo but you can get a great idea of layout if you know all the ships in it's class of ship. For the most part all ships of a certain class are almost identical except the color/theme. Happy sailing!

I use ship cabins website in this way. When you click on cabin pictures it gives you the cabins on other ships in the same class as well. Super helpful to see a similiar xabin if nobody has uploaded pics or video of yours. Ship Cabins is merged with cruisedeckplans now so if you go to shipcabins and navigate to your ship and deck and then scroll down and click cabin pictures, it will bring up the links.

  13. You can find pictures of many cabins at shipcabins (dot) com. Here is a link to 2211 on the Breeze. https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/stateroom-details.php?ship=Carnival-Breeze&cabin=2211

I saw your post about the other group for your sailing. It's going to get deleted since that goes against the rules, but rest assured, the groups do fill up as time gets closer to sailing. You can also look for a roll call here on CC for your sailing, or start one if there isn't already one.

Buffet etiquette - I love long hair but I don’t love someone tossing their long hair out of their face while in front of me and my plate at the buffet line.  I wish they would be mindful of the person behind them as they flip their hair.

Hopefully myself and my daughters have never been guilty of this. I always make a big deal to my girls about keeping thier hair behind thier shoulders whenever they are cooking or dealing with food because I don't want their hair getting into food. I can picture them hearing my voice in thier head, mid buffet, and pushing thier hair back 😉

I can't come up with a wish list of gripes. I am sure that my fellow passengers have annoyed me at times, but I just don't keep a record of it. I do remember a family who always had their kids save seats for them all. I just sat somewhere else and wasn't too upset, but I did feel badly for the kids. They knew that what they were doing was wrong and against the rules and you could tell that they felt really awkward especially when the host would remind the crowd of the rules. I like the mention of door slamming because they can be pretty disruptive when you are just trying to kick back and relax. I had a neighbor who slammed all day long from day 1 of the cruise. I noticed that they had a white board and markers hanging outside thier door, so I left a note " Please stop slamming your door " with a smiley face. Never heard that door again all week .

NO not on that one, it was inside our cabin.  I'm afraid of what random cruisers might write if there was a dry erase board on our cabin door.  I'm sure people have plenty of funny stories about that!!!  LOL

On our last cruise, the next door neighbors had a major door slamming problem. They also had a dry erase board. Lots of people wrote fun messages to them. I wrote "please stop slamming your door" with a friendly smiley face. They stopped slamming doors 😁

Yes my Carnival PVP does it for me all the time. The price will show as a Cabin for two but only show taxes for one. Then when you add the second name anytime before final payment the taxes for that person will be added into total. Hope that makes sense. That way you only risk losing $50.

This will only work for a double cabin, since they allow singles to book these cabins. I don't see a way to make it work for a triple or quad. Also, you need to put the second person in reasonably far ahead of time so that your ship doesn't run out of space for 2nd passenger. Depending upon the ship and the week that it sails, this can even happen before final payment, although it isn't highly likely. If you stay on top of how sold your sailing is, then you shouldn't have an issue.
