Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. https://www.olivia.com/trip/2024_san_diego_to_mexico_cruise And the itinerary totally different than on the HAL website as going to Mexico rather than to San Francisco.
  2. Although I don't think this turned out to be true since I know one of my bags was 45 pounds and the other about 25.
  3. The wifi at the Fairmont was actually free. If wanted premium then a cost. I asked about this at the front desk.
  4. Loved your reporting as it added to my experience on this same trip. I think I now know who you are and am sorry we didn't properly get introduced despite several conversations over the 18 days. If you are who I think you are, I gave you my card so hope to hear from you.
  5. I also didn't think testing was very professional and wouldn't be surprised if some of those positive results were cross contamination as the test 'boards" were set up touching each other.
  6. Special rules for Alaska? Figure they would have to comply with USA. I’ve decided to go with the information given to me when I get to Vancouver. For the land part, HAL needs to make sure we are in compliance with whatever the Canada or USA rules are. I’ll probably get a PCR test within the 3 days of start of the land part as that should cover Canada needs and start of land part and expect HAL to provide what is needed once I am ‘in their care’.
  7. Thank you. I’ve actually purchased some eMed tests so if I can find WiFi on the ship, I’ll be able to test before I fly home on the 19th. Didn’t think about this being a charter flight to Fairbanks so thanks for that. I do think I read someplace that we need to be tested before joining the land portion but couldn’t tell you where I saw that.
  8. Looking for anyone on this land first cruise second (Nieuw Amsterdam) trip. The changes HAL made on 4 May 2022 means no testing provided by HAL, however, what about the test needed to start the land part of the cruise? And what about the test needed to enter the US from Dawson, Yukon since US requires it when coming in by plane? I think they are still providing the test before boarding the ship on 12 June. I'm still trying to figure out how to get a test the day before I fly home to US on 19 June. I wish HAL would have some specific information about this trip rather than all the generic stuff on the website. And will all the apps involved (ArriveCanada, Verifly (wish it horrible) and Navigator) looks like I'll have to leave my phone connected to a network which means $$.
