Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We used the regular deck chairs, which are not in a shaded area. However, Spice H20 does have some tables and comfy-looking chairs with umbrellas. IIRC, they were pretty much empty the whole time we were there. You should be able to snag something if you don't mind a cushioned chair. Enjoy your cruise!
  2. Hey Bird, Wanted to thank you again, post-cruise, for your thread. Your info greatly enhanced the experience for Hubby and me. A couple things I've been wondering since I got back: How on earth did you get ALL those pics without any people in them? (I know you had only 2500 people onboard, so maybe that helps. My trip 11/20 - 11/27 is said to have had 4400 passengers!) 😲 I did trivia every morning and heard mention of an "activity card" for signatures and prizes. I meant to ask the cruise director but never got around to it as I typically migrated from the Atrium bar to the loooong SBux line to grab a coffee for Hubby around the time trivia wrapped up. Thanks!
  3. Well, DANG! I didn't know I had to reserve 4 months out. Do I lose my package that I purchased? If so, I'm gonna be big mad!🤬
  4. Thanks for the excellent explanation! I looked all over their site and didn't find anything explaining it the way you did.
  5. Yet another question from this noob... How in the heck does Specialty Dining work? I don't see any greatDo I simply book a restaurant that is considered "a la carte, " then have the dining upgrade processed as part of the bill at the end of the meal? I don't see any great explanations on NCL's website. Does anyone have a handy link on how dining works overall and how one redeems these packages/upgrades? I have the following: 2 Meal Dining pkg for 2 2 Meal Specialty Dining Upgrade for 2 Thanks!
  6. I, too, am not sure what is included in the Adult Beverage Package. I booked through United and that was some promo feature included in the fare. I'm a little concerned I might have double-paid by upgrading to Premium Plus. At this point, though, I'm too excited about the trip to worry about it.
  7. Thanks, Hutcha! Great info and I do love a good mimosa! Cheers!
  8. I can't exactly speak to my plan. I have been on only one cruise before, but when we travel and stay in hotels, we always have a bottle of wine on hand. Sometimes, we don't finish it but it isn't like we can just run out and get one while on a ship. On our first and only cruise, we spent a lot of time after dinner in the casino and walking the ship .We also hung out on our balcony quite a lot. Everyone has different ideas of what they enjoy when traveling. Frankly, we don't go for the shows that cruises offer. They seem hokey to us, so we do more of the other things like wine tasting, gym, trivia, etc. To each his/her own!
  9. Ginny, Thanks so much! I'm a noob and have only cruised once before and my FIL took care of everything for us. I had NO idea we could do that with the wine. I was wondering how we would manage a bottle of wine or two in the room.
  10. Thanks for the replies! Yes, I purchased the Premium Plus package for both of us. Also have the Adult Beverage Package.
  11. Hi all, Sailing NCL Breakaway on 11/20 and I am looking for some info on the drinks package. Hubby and I consume alcohol, so we bought the premium package and added the tips package. Now, for my question... Are things like Diet Coke, orange juice, and coffee free in these packages? Just don't want to get blind-sided with more charges while on the boat. thanks!
  12. Thanks for you helpful reply! This is a great community. Very good to know about your daughter. Working on cookbook myself!
  13. Also, I recall Moderna from sailing on the Dawn. I was not vegan then, but have never been a huge meat-eater. I filled up at the awesome salad bar and was so full that I could barely get through one order of meat. (I can't even recall what it was because the salad bar was THAT GOOD!) ETA: Will bring protein powder for my hubby as he has higher caloric needs than I. Easy to pack, too!
