  1. Remember, cruising then was only for the privileged few.

Not exactly. "Cruising" didn't really exist. Those ships were liners, built for transport like air liners today. Yes, the wealthy took pleasure trips, but the vast majority of passengers were down in the lower class bunks.

  2. If you are Captain's Club, you can get a one cat upgrade. However, that is useless now with the perk system since it can't be combined with other offers. That's why we really don't talk about it these days. It will be applicable on cruises where there are no offers, like transatlantics. Note that the upgrade is within category only (ie: 2D to 2C, not Concierge to Aqua). I've probably forgotten something, but that's the main concept.

  3. Not really. The pools are too small for lap swimming, and with a few other people in the pool, your husband will be annoyed with people in the way (and people in for a float won't be happy with him doing laps). Get him ready for some cardio in the gym...

  4. Buzzers are normal, and common. They have been since the start of Select. Especially for the time you want, right in the middle of service. If you want the same time every night without the possibility of a wait, Traditional Dining will be a better choice for you.

For others that have asked about wait times: I've never waited long enough to order a second drink...

  5. I think its relevant to X, and here's why: now that other lines are tightening their smoking policies, it is time once again for Celebrity to take a leadership position and eliminate all on board smoking. Yes, the very vocal minority will scream and cry, while the vast majority will embrace the progressive business decision and vote with their wallets.
