  1. We have a rental from MCO and drop off at the Mullet Road location.  Renting with Alamo.  I believe that is close to the port.  We are sailing Royal caribbean Adventure of the Seas on 11/24.  Is there a shuttle to the port from that location?

I don’t know if is up & running.  It is not in my cruise planner for my upcoming cruise in February 2024 on Oasis.  When are you cruising?
    Is it in your planner?

We reserved it for November so it must be.  4 of us.

We have a Chevy Bolt EUV and are able to drive to the port in Fort Lauderdale in a couple of hours.  The challenge is that we would need to charge before returning home and that may take several hours.

Has anyone figured out a solution to have your vehicle charge while you are on the cruise?

Get a normal gas powered car

  4. I've seen from some on here that the Black Friday Sales are the best of the year.  Problem is our ship leaves on Black Friday November 24th of this year.  Would it be too late to reserve something the morning of? I'm specifically looking at the zipline in Labadee. We aren't getting the alcohol pkg. We all don't drink alot, just here and there and I have around $500 on board credit we'll use for drinks, etc.

Took a Lyft last month from Port Canaveral to a hotel near MCO. It was $69.48 and took 40 minutes. Pick up was at 7:30am. It’s easier to get the ride from the Holiday Inn across the street rather than the congested port area.

I don't want to sound stupid but honestly I've never used a Lyft or Uber.  When do you book a ride?  The morning of or can you prebook like before a cruise.  We have an 11 am flight from MCO and trying to find quickest way to get there.

Received an email outlining new terms in the Royal Caribbean Cruise Contact for USA passengers. New terms go into effect today, 4/12. In the section about Covid, I read this:

    (4) mandatory use by each Passenger (except where medically contraindicated) of face coverings in most locations outside of the Passenger’s cabin while onboard, during embarkation, disembarkation and shore excursions; (5) mandatory social distancing of Passengers at any/all times while on board and during embarkation, disembarkation, and shore excursions

Do we really need to wear masks all the time on board now??? I postponed this cruise twice to get beyond this type of restriction. Has it returned??

I have no problem with the testing and would happily show my vaccine card if required. But I don't want to lay out in the sun by the pool with a mask over my face!

They can stuff their face diapers   I'm not wearing one.

@msufan90 I’m so sorry. I’m just now seeing this. We always just get a regular car. The only place we’ve gone that’s bumpy is getting to the old natural bridge. Everywhere else is roads.

@Ravensfan1973 Ours was automatic but I don’t know for sure that all of them are. If none of you can drive standard, I’d maybe call the company just to verify beforehand.

Sorry I meant nobody knows how to drive a manual transmission.  Hopefully it will be automatic.   I'll definitely call before we depart the  states.

We were just in Aruba on a cruise for Spring Break and rented a car from Smart Car Rentals (https://www.aruba-car-rental.com/). I had done some research on this board before going and know that a lot of people ask about rental car companies so I just wanted to share our experience.

When I was researching, I just stumbled across the Smart Car Rental website and it let me make a reservation without any kind of deposit. I wasn't sure what to expect when we got there (because it seemed a little sketchy since the site didn't take a deposit) but it was great. The guy met us at the entrance to the port (he had a sign with our name on it) and we just had to walk over to the next parking lot, filled out the paper work, paid him and we were off. So easy. We told him what time we wanted to return it and he met us in the lot at that time. I'd definitely rent from them again next time we go.

I just made a rental from your recommendation.  Hope it goes smoothly.  Did you have an automatic transmission?  Nobody in our party knows how to drive one.  Thanks for the review.

  9. Rented a car for the day for our November cruise on Adventure of Seas.  I've been in Aruba once but like 17 years ago.  Need a good itinerary to explore.  We'd like to see the lighthouse and a good beach or two.  What do you recommend for about 7 or 8 hours?  TIA
