  1. I just received a call from Princess and she informed me that even though I had paid for the coverage we do not have it for our January sailing. AON would not consider any claim. Princess has their own coverage now named at-ease waiver program. cruises upto $5,000. cost is 10%, over $5000. is 8%. Notice must be given 72 hours prior to departure for a full refund no questions asked. This does not include any medical coverage, it is strictly cancellation and baggage. I previously posted that Princess assured me since I had the coverage on my booking I would be covered. Not so. Hope anyone out there that think they have coverage please check with Princess.
  2. Same happened to me. I spoke with Barbara at Princess Customer Service .1-833-862-0287 ext.41731. Her answer was if you have it you have it you can keep it. It is no longer available to purchase. The issue is with the BC government not Princess. I have her message recorded in case I have a problem. She also said she was giving us $100 OBC for each of us for our frustrations . It doesn't show on my booking though.
  3. When I looked at a different page BC was not stated so that I why I made the call to have it put back on.Now when I look at your link it clearly states as of Oct 16, 2023 BC is excluded. I just called Princess and on this and coincidently the same agent that said I had the insurance now is saying they are working on it and will advise of any updates. If no successful update happens before sailing I will be reimbursed . I asked if I made a booking today would they still sell me the insurance. He said yes.Insurance is supposed to give peace but this is driving me crazy. Thank you once again to CC members.
  4. I am from BC and I booked last week and purchased the platinum insurance. I was on a call with Princess later in the day I was told BC residents do not qualify so I cancelled the insurance . I went on the website and it only excludes Quebec so I called again to confirm and was told BC did qualify so I asked for the insurance to be put back on and they said I was past final payment and couldn't do it. I told them this all happened within 12 hours and to listen to the recorded phone call with previous agent. After 20 minutes on hold the insurance was put back on. I called the next day to speak with another agent to confirm I was covered and was told yes. Anyone else have any experience to confirm my information.
  5. Okay, thank you. I can live with two decks below. Is the smoking the entire aft or off to one side? Do you happen to know what the large blank space on middle of 15 is?
  6. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I was most interested about the aft areas. I took a leap and booked the aft cabin on 15 and was looking at the deck plan and there is a large blank space in the middle. Last time on the ship I remember there being a large smoking area but as a non smoker I didn’t pay attention. I really am hoping it is not on 15 ,if it is I will need to rebook quickly. Anyone know for sure?
  7. I am sure this has been asked and answered but could you please tell me where the smoking areas are? much appreciated .
  8. I know this is a Royal Caribbean Forum but three years ago on Princess to Alaska we were given 50% of our cruise fare as a OBC valid for two years. Initially the captain came on and said 15% but with outcry from passengers they upped to 50%. don’t ask don’t get.
  9. Thank you so much for your quick responses. I thought it might be wise to stay off South Beach and visit for the day but with your comments I am convinced. I didn't know where to go so thank you and CC comes to the rescue once again.
  10. Anyone have a recommendation for a mid priced hotel for our Miami departure in March? We would love to experience South Beach area.
  11. You could also bid for an upgrade . Might get it for a few hundred $. My daughter did on her move over cabin.
  12. We were contacted four days prior to our Alaska cruise asking to move over to another date. Our choice within two years. 100% refund as a refundable OBC, all out of pocket expenses (hotel). We booked a later cruise which worked much better for us. The cabin we chose was less money and they refunded the difference within two days. Also our excursions had increased and the difference was added to our OBC. A total win for us. Except with so much OBC we spent more time in the casino than we should have.
  13. Demi, Supervisor,Commercial Operations facilitated our move over last month. dmihalovich@princesscruises.com as mentioned earlier the cheque envelope looks like cheap junk mail. The return address is from c/o Bottomline Technologies,Paymode-X For Princess Cruise Line Ltd I believe don't ask don't get. Go for it.
  14. We boarded on Aug 26. Green line took less than 5 minutes. Never broke our stride just kept walking. An agent escorted us to the elite/suite waiting area and when boarding opened an agent escorted us to the front of the line. First on board. Extremely well organized and smoothly done.
  15. We were called July 16 for our Oct 1 sailing on Discovery. We had the choice of nights. In a suite and not connected to the casino.
  16. We were offered a move over four days prior to our Princess cruise. The luggage was already at the front door but the offer was too good to pass on. We got all our money refunded and offered a new cruise of our choice within 2 years upto the fare we paid. I chose a cabin that was less and those funds were refunded within days. All our out of pocket expenses covered. The difference we paid for the new excursions were also refunded immediately. On our upcoming Viking Star cruise in July we have booked Icelandair fully refundable fare so if we are offered we will jump on it. I think there is a real chance of this since the ship has been almost sold out for months. Fingers crossed.
  17. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Well noted.
  18. I had my pharmacy fill the smallest bottle they had with the label on. I only had one though. Many years ago going through the land border I had pills taken away because they were loose in my purse. Sometimes it depends on who's looking. I wouldn't be concerned with the cruise people, only if you are crossing a border.
  19. Thank you all for your responses they were very helpful. We have decided to rent a car and do the tour ourselves.
  20. We will be in Reykjavik July 6, 2024. I was looking at Golden Circle Tours and there were so many to choose from. I narrowed it down to a tour with Nice Travel going to Blue Lagoon,Kerid Volcano,Fullfoss Waterfall. Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  21. Thank you . Reading the last few posts I am going to take a leap of faith and go for it.
  22. Thank you all! You are amazing for answering so quickly.
