  1. Update everyone! I’m not sure if this was related to our actions, but it seems something has happened! I sent an email about the situation to the NCL corporate office this morning, but didn’t receive a response. When we checked yesterday, both entrances were blocked off with Private Function signs, and, as stated, a staff member who we asked said that the lounge was going to be closed for the entire length of the cruise. No mention of sectioning or anything. We just went up to check things out now, after Rumours finished in Syd Norman’s, and now half of the lounge has been opened up to all passengers! There is also a new sign which definitely wasn’t there before sending VIP guests one direction, and passengers another. Pictures of the signs coming through in a minute…
  2. Absolutely, thanks. Will take a photo next time I’m up there.
  3. I will try to get more info in the next day or so and will keep the thread updated if anything develops.
  4. Just to add, the ship is sailing at capacity. The removal of that space, as well as the conditions preventing use of outdoor spaces makes it pretty packed inside, in the available spaces. The Vibe seems to be closed (so far at least, whenever I’ve checked) too, presumably due to the strong winds. That supports the claim that the outside areas aren’t viable alternatives to The Observation Lounge.
  5. I honestly was very tempted to just walk in and check it out! 😂
  6. I hadn’t actually remembered that this was an option until you mentioned, thanks. If I don’t get any satisfaction from complaining, this may be the only option left. I’d obviously prefer not to do it as it would harm the staff (who are not at fault and offering good service), but if it is the only way to get some recourse and send a message to management…
  7. It was never addressed or mentioned by any of the team on the ship, or in Freestyle Daily. The opening hours have simply been omitted from the FS Daily. It would have been nice to at least inform passengers, rather than pretending the space doesn’t exist. There is a board outside the doors saying “Private Function”. We asked a staff member nearby about it and she said that it was closed for the entire cruise as it was booked by a group. No further details given. It’s really frustrating… I wanted to sit up top and look out over the Fjords while enjoy a drink from my Premium Plus package. I can’t do that now, even outdoors, as the winds are very strong making it freezing cold outside the ship. The common areas are also quite overcrowded on account of that large public seating space being reserved.
  8. While that’s annoying if you had a reservation booked or had planned an itinerary around it, I’d not have too much of a problem with something being booked up for one or two days. But not getting to experience it for the entire cruise is a bit ridiculous.
  9. Agreed, we’d have had no issue if it was, say, just the evenings (eg 7pm onwards) or just for 4-5 days. But to not get to experience it at all is really, really disappointing. We really wanted to sit up there and enjoy the view of Geiranger.
  10. Yeah, as this is a colder weather itinerary, it’s really annoying to lose that space for the entire cruise. It has been so windy that we’ve been unable to use the outdoor spaces on the ship, so there isn’t really anywhere else indoors to get a full view of the surroundings as the ship sails. I am tempted to complain to NCL about it as I believe that space should be considered a pretty integral part of the cruise package, given it’s the only indoor space designed to sit and take in the surroundings and we had expected to make heavy use of it. I wonder if they’d offer some credit to use onboard in a future cruise, as we have Prima transatlantic booked for Nov 2024 too. They may not give it, but it’s worth a try, worst they can say is no.
  11. Hi all, We’re currently cruising on the Prima and having a great time; our only small disappointment is that the Observation Lounge is closed for the entire length of the cruise. As the main indoor seating / bar area on the upper decks, it would be the best place to take in the views while sailing. The reason for the closure is the booking of a “Private Function” for the entirety of the cruise length. Is it typical for NCL to rent out large feature areas of the ship for the entire length of a cruise, or did we just get unlucky this time around? It’s our first cruise, so I’m not sure what usually happens.
  12. Oh that was so, so kind of you, thanks so much 😊 Really great to hear that! We look forward to trying it in a few days 😁
  13. Amazing, thanks a lot for the info, very helpful to know 😊 We’re going to give it a shot!
  14. Thanks a lot for your info and feedback, that’s great to hear! We might give it a go in that case. Did you use a speciality dining package credit on the meal there when you visited? Was it 4 items per person like Food Republic? Thanks again 😊
  15. Getting the impression it may not have been too popular so far 😅
  16. Hi all, Heading away on our first (ever!!) cruise on NCL Prima on Sunday and have one spare speciality dining reservation unassigned. For those who've been on NCL Prima and eaten in Nama Sushi and Sashimi, how was it? We're big sushi lovers and keen to give it a shot if people think the sushi is good quality and tasty. Also, I noticed they have a selection of sake on the menu, how does that work with the beverage package (we have the Premium Plus package on our booking) when you're dining there, if anyone has tried? An NCL rep who I asked said that the dining package isn't applicable to Nama, but I think that's wrong, isn't it? As far as I know, you can order 4 items per person? Thanks in advance everyone! ☺️
  17. How does one go about asking for this on the phone to NCL? How do you tend to approach it? We’re in a situation where there’s been a drop of around $500 per head so we wouldn’t mind getting a $1000 FCC
  18. Ah that’s likely because he’s using an unofficial service to share the data from the phone to watch, because Dexcom doesn’t have official FitBit support. I’m also using Dexcom and there is no need to have Wi-Fi to get the readings on your phone. The sensor uses Bluetooth to transmit to the phone. As far as I am aware, every other CGM also works this way.
  19. I’m not aware of any diabetes sensors which require Wi-Fi to function? Which sensor are you using?
