Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Looks like the walk-up price for tickets is still 49.95 for adults and 39.95 for kids.
  2. Is that the hand scooped/dipped ice cream? Do they also do cones and toppings?
  3. We are setting sail on the Bliss soon, and the kids are very interested in the included ice cream options. I had assumed the free ice cream was limited to a soft serve vanilla/chocolate machine in the buffet, but I ran across a video talking about an included hand-scooped ice cream bar as well. Can anyone has been on the Bliss recently clarify what options are available so I can set realistic expectations for the kids before we get onboard?
  4. It seems like the SkyGlider and ZipRider prices through NCL have shot up in the last month or so. I recall it being $50 for the gondola and $140 for the zipline when we first booked, but it now shows $70 and $240. Am I remembering wrong? It sounds like the gondola is still $50 on location, but now I'm worried it will go up once summer starts.
  5. Having not been to Teppanyaki, but interested to go, I'm now curious what they do after dinner. Are they forcing everyone to take pictures in the hope they'll buy them later?
  6. As I've been looking into what to do in Alaska with my family, I've been running across what seem to be a variety of significantly cheaper (especially for our group size) tours available only once you get off the ship. Sitka apparently has a $10/person shuttle that goes to the raptor center and bear fortress. Juneau has taxis that will take you to the Mendenhall glacier. Icy Strait Point seems to be different? They appear to encourage you to book through the ship. Victoria appears to have multiple tour operators that charge a group rate rather than per-person both in and just outside the dock. This would save us quite a bit of money and potentially get us more personalized service. What worries me about going this route is the lack of information, and the chance that whatever we want will be sold out or otherwise unavailable that day, and we'll be completely out of luck. For those who have already done an Alaska cruise, especially if you've gone the walk-up route rather than booking through the ship, what can you share? Is it worth the risk? Are the vendors ever just not there? Are there any other vendors I should know about? Are there any port guides that include the vendor booths?
