Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We have this on the Belgian site as well, but this page is really all you get. Ours also includes a link that claims to take you to the form, but this just redirects to the same page.
  2. Almost all horror stories ARE from the summer trips, and it does look awful for this exact reason: queues for everything, undisciplined kids bouncing around all over the place, the whole "claim seat with towel" thing. I booked a winter trip, because most winter trip reviews are actually pretty positive. If I were to plan a summer cruise, I'd definitely avoid the budget ships and pay extra for a more exclusive or adult only line.
  3. I booked a solo cabin for a northern cruise in february a few months ago, because my wife will be going abroad for a month. I told my mother about this and invited her along back then, but she wasn't interested. With the black friday deals she changed her mind and just let me know that she booked a room with a balcony for herself. She doesn't want to share rooms, so her booking apart isn't a problem for me. Since we do plan to eat and do activities together: Will this be an issue since we each have our own booking? Is there anything special we should do, or can we just arrive together at the MDR as long as we have the same dinner time?
  4. There is some humor in the idea of them removing the spa pass and then trying to gaslight you on the pass never having existed at all. The reality will be simple ignorance on their side instead. I've only had to contact them once to cancel an addon package, and that experience was odd as well: As if the phone was picked up by the concierge, and he had to relay my request to somewhere else, putting me on hold, occasionally coming back for followup questions, then disappearing for 5 minutes again.
  5. Maybe it's too far ahead? I booked on Euribia for february, and I have all specialty dining options available. I even got them offered during the booking process. *edit* Someone mentioned this in a different thread: It most likely depends on the experience you booked. See MSC's website for a comparison
  6. That would set them apart regardless. Looking at the floor plan of msc euribia, I count 5 solo cabins in total.
  7. Another one of these threads. Meanwhile, I booked my first MSC solo cruise a few weeks ago. 7 nights northen europe cruise in a solo cabin, it was a promotion with easy drinks package included. Total cost: 693 euros. I could have booked a double cabin as well (only option now since I appearantly booked the last available solo cabin), and that would have set me back 1500 euros: Then the price is a bit steep, but they do allow it. Important factor: I booked this 5 months in advance. Contrary to other claims here, the rates for the extras packages are unchanged. Again: First time cruise ever, have no special tricks up my sleeve, apart from opening up booking sites and looking around for bargains. "I'll take my business elsewhere": well, yes? It's what I (and most other people) would do in your situation. Go look at other cruise lines, go compare prices. The insinuation that you should be loyal to msc is rather absurd.
  8. It's a cruise line, not a charity. I don't think anything productive can come out of this thread.
  9. So the big question is: Are we expected to print it out, or can we just show our phone screen?
  10. Booked my first cruise myself 2 weeks ago. My wife is terrified of the idea of sleeping on a ship, so cruises were never an option, but she is taking a month long internship abroad in february, so I took the chance to book a cruise on my own. I booked MSC in Northern Europe. This brand has a lot of complaints about being crowded, but since I am going in february (outside of school holidays, very cold and wet weather) I am hoping for a relaxing cruise at a bargain price. Decided to reply here, because I definitely recognize your enthousiasm. Caught myself checking my booking page and downloading/checking their app several times this week, even though that is completely pointless at this point.
  11. I booked a solo cabin on the MSC Euribia for februari 2024. These are actually CHEAPER than the price p.p. for the cheapest normal cabins, which was a pleasant surprise, since they were already giving out really good deals. I was also allowed to choose a normal cabin, as long as I willing to pay double the price, so in my experience, MSC is pretty flexible on this. I don't know how many of their ships even have solo cabins in the first place, but I did notice they sell out FAST. I kept checking prices and a week later, they were no longer available and I'd have to pay a lot more.
