  1. This may seem like an odd question, but is it socially acceptable to wear earplugs or noise cancelling headphones at one of the live music events on the ship? Many years ago I went to a live music event for the first time, and came away with tinnitus that never went away. Afterwards I've been very protective of (what remains) of my hearing, so I never blast music or like to put anything loud beyond what I can hear at normal volume. A premium noise cancelling headphone is also one of the very few things I splurge on, and I never travel anywhere without it. So that being said, as a person who is extremely sensitive to noise and don't want my tinnitus to get worse, would I be okay wearing headphones to a live music event to dilute the sound? Would they think it's rude of me or not allow me in? I still want to hear new music, but just not at a very loud volume. I can probably just stand outside and listen but then I don't want to look really awkward doing that...
  2. Hi, I have an upcoming Alaskan cruise with NCL in a few months. I haven't sailed with them before (or cruised at all) as of now, and it seems their prices are higher than what I've seen for other cruise lines (namely Princess). That being said, is $200 for a thermal spa pass worth it for a 7-day Alaskan cruise? Will I even get to enjoy a lounger once the pass likely sells out and everyone else comes? Also, can I use onboard credits to partially purchase this before the cruise? I have $50 from my booking agent. Their app and website is extremely hard to use and crashes often, so I thought to just get honest opinions here before attempting to call anyone there.
  3. By arriving 30 minutes for shows, do you mean that if you don't arrive 30 minutes you won't get a single seat? Or maybe you get a bad seat? There are several back-to-back shows on the app that I'm seeing for my upcoming Princess cruise and I want to attend them all, but realistically there is only a 15-minute gap between them (and have to account for travel time)...so is it impossible for me to make them?
  4. Thank you for the advice! I hadn't known there was a web version, but looked for it and managed to make the reservation! Though is it possible to still make reservations while on the ship? I haven't experienced any of the foods yet so I don't know if I want to do specialty dining more than once, but I'm afraid of cancelling my MDR reservation and not being able to book it again.
  5. Hi all, I've been trying to make dinner reservations through the medallion app, but every time I try to select specialty dining and pay with my credit card that I saved on the app, it gives me an error message. I even tried it with several different cards to no avail. Is this a problem others have encountered? Would it be hard to find a table for myself if I just go to Sabatini's on a random evening?
  6. It's mostly that I want to experience different dishes that I've never had before. I don't like to waste food, but I have never heard of many items on the menus that CanadianBurger shared, so it's a point of culinary curiosity. And also I don't usually eat appetizers or desserts so just want to experience the mains. :)
  7. I'm really enjoying my vicarious vacation through you! Especially as a soon to be first time cruiser learning about all of this. I was wondering though if there was a limit to how many dishes you can order in MDR without paying? I read somewhere you are limited to 2 main dishes now without paying extra but couldn't confirm it elsewhere.
  8. Specifically I'm just really curious why this cruise in particular is significantly cheaper than all the other 7-day Caribbean cruises I've seen. The Galveston Regal Princess cruise can be booked for $325-$600 total (depending on your website and when you check), but all the other Caribbean 7-day cruises seem to be over $1000 for the displayed price of an interior room. The price was actually the reason I booked this cruise, but I'm seeing such a price difference for the 2025 cruises too so this made me curious. Destination-wise, all these Caribbean beach ports seem to be similar enough that it doesn't matter that much which one you go to. If anyone has a hypothesis, please do share.
  9. So you won't actually get to win anything from those spa tours? I'm asking because the two that shows up take place at 12pm and 5pm and these are the times when I planned to otherwise eat. But then it said you could win $500 worth of vouchers so I was like O_O maybe I should go! lol
  10. That's great advice, thank you. A huge thank you as well to everyone who replied!! It seems like there are more activities that are hosted than just what shows up on the JourneyView app right now. :)
  11. Hello everyone, I'm going on a cruise for the very first time in the upcoming January, so when JourneyView's activities popped up I spent a while looking through the items. Some of the items like "Welcome to Princess Event" and the various jewelry and art auctions had mentions of winning prizes, so could anyone share what kind of prizes they are? What about the spa vouchers? Is it likely/possible for people to actually win them without spending extra money? These activities overlap with other activities that seems interesting so I thought to just skip some if it's not really worth it. I'm a budget traveler so not planning on buying any art, jewelry, or spa treatments, but it would be fun to be entered into free raffle drawing. I've been searching through the forums but haven't found much on this topic. Thank you in advance for your advice!
