Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you very much for your comment. I traveled many times with kids, but had just a couple of experiences on cruise. Our YC experience was exceptional last week, but I made some friends on the ship outside YC area, who enjoyed the cruise as well. So,just based on the experience on Divina this time, I do not deny outside YC experience on MSC. I love the classical Divina, rather than modern MSC mega-ships. I appreciate lovery staffs on the ship. From the viewpoint of the business model, MSC established an interesting one, which other cruise companies imitated. However, the YC price is still more acceptable for our family than others. Our family enjoyed both popular crowded places and calm places without crowds, which perfectly fit our travel style. We will try Virtuosa YC in July. Although Virtuosa is a modern mega-ship, hope we will enjoy the next cruise. The itinerary of the next cruise looks attractive for us: Southampton - La Rochelle - Bilbao - La Coruna - Le Havre - Southampton. I will share my summer experience again in this forum.
  2. One additional note. I have never seen the information about Timeless Studio Photography during MSC Cruise. We have experienced and enjoyed our 1-hr photo session on the first sea day. The photographer, Omar, took many wonderful family photos in various locations on Divina. The completed works were really amazing. The service is not inexpensive, but it was worth for the money.
  3. We just came back from the MSC Divina YC 7-Night Caribbean cruise. We visited Belize City, Roatan, Costa Maya, and Nassau with the emergency stop at Cozumel. I would like to share our experience in MSC Divina Yacht Club cruise. We did not fully use all properties and services on the ship because we experienced a lot of excursions (River cruise and Lamanai ruin in Belize City, Sloth holding, Glass bottom boat and West bay beach in Roatan,Bacalar lagoon and Chacchoben ruin in Cost Maya); however, we (with boys) are fully satisfied with all the services, suite, pool areas (both in YC and outside YC area), beverages, and foods. We feel intimate with ship staffs, managers, and directors, as well as YC guests. Although Divina is not brand-new, the size of Divina YC felt very appropriate for us. Actually, the YC restaurant (Le Muse) in Dvina is apart from the YC area, but the walking between Le Muse restaurant and the YC area was nice after the dinner and with kids. Furthermore, the itinerary of this cruise was wonderful. Although the cruise was during the spring break for many kids in US as well as during the Easter holidays, it did not look very crowded both in YC (every less crowded actually) and ouside YC area. We often eat pieces of pizza and small portions of curry at the buffet without many crowds. This was one of our most memorable travels in our family history. We have decided to go to another MSC YC cruise in Northern Europe in July. Look forward to experiencing another MSC cruise.
  4. Thank you for your detailed review. I am a little surprised that on your cruise, Divina docked at Mahogany Bay, not at Coxan Hole, in Roatan Island. I believed that only Carnival families could dock at Mahogany Bay. We will be on Divina at the end of March and will visit Roatan. I am confused where Divina will dock in Roatan in March.
