  1. If one leaves the auto-gratuity in place, will you be charged the hotel and dining service charge for both embarkation and disembarkation days? On the Cunard website, they use the terminology "days" when discussing hotel and dining service charges but market their cruises based on how many "nights". For example, on a 7 night sailing you are actually on board on 8 days. On such a sailing, is one charged the hotel and dining service charge 6 times (for only the "full days" aboard - not embarkation or debarkation), 7 times (the advertised number of "nights"), or 8 times (the actual count of days on which you are on board the ship, though the first and last days are only partial)? I suspect that this question has been addressed, but I was unable to find the answer as it applies to Cunard. Apologies if I overlooked an obvious post.
  2. Does anyone know what's going on with the QM2 between the end of her M610 Eastbound crossing that disembarks on May 15, 2026 and the next sailing on her published schedule of M612, the "Scenic Jurassic Coast Voyage", embarking on June 24? There's a 40 day gap (and no sailing numbered M611).
  3. Bear in mind that if you bid and are successful you will be assigned a specific cabin. If that cabin is not to your liking AND there are other cabins in the same grade (e.g. BZ - forward sheltered balcony) available, you can call Cunard and change to a different cabin within that same grade without charge. A quick “fake booking” inquiry on the Cunard site will show you which cabins remain available. As of now, there seem to be quite a few sheltered balcony cabins available. If you’re comfortable sharing, what are all the different grades that were offered for you to bid on? I’m on the same sailing, by the way!
  4. Considering arriving by train on the Acela from Boston scheduled to arrive at 11:33am at Penn Station for a cruise departing the same day (a Saturday) from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. If we get an Uber at Penn Station, how long (on a Saturday) is this journey likely to take? Not interested in taking the ferry, subway, bus transfer etc. as one of us has some mobility issues (no wheelchair or walker though). Is Uber the best option or perhaps a car service (if so, any recommendations)? Is this plan cutting it too close time wise? We don’t know yet, but all aboard is likely to be 4:00pm.
  5. Bumping this thread up to see if anyone has any current (April/May 2024) information.
