  1. Regatta is a small ship. I’ve sailed on the very similar Sirena. There’s no need for an app onboard. Not enuf stuff going on. No 5,000 pax trying to get their meals scheduled. I can see the need on an X ship, or RCC, Carnival, etc.

In my opinion, no need for an app on O.
Now, “improve the wifi” - did I hear anyone say? YES, now you’ve got me going on that one!

  2. Also, please keep in mind that if you purchase an FCC, then you will be subject to any price increases in effect by the time you have selected your itinerary. On the other hand, if you book on board, you lock in your price at the time that you select your itinerary.
    Enjoy your cruise!

Can you post the PDF of the itineraries on the social media site.  No social media here.

A pdf file can be posted here. First download the file, and then okay to post here……

I likewise touched on the long walks to get to sites and the very steep stairs in a companion thread. Our current cruise is a bit unorthodox. We likewise have a larger than normal contingency of mobility impaired passengers along with 226 Go Next group, many of which are in their 30-50s on their first O cruise. When sharing the same tour conflicts happens.

What is a “Go Next” group?

We can’t do deviation because we do not have passports. Regent has said we would have to cancel our air part of the package and book our own flights, losing all our transfers and pre-cruise hotel for night before. We were thinking of a morning flight from DFW to VCR, then get on cruise in the afternoon. What is the same day pitfalls? Would travel insurance cover it?

I guess you will have passports soon, correct? Hopefully they will be arriving soon, yes?

Reusable water bottles are provided and place to fill them up as you leave the ship.

If they are anything like the reusable water bottles provided on Mariner and on Voyager, I’d say don’t bother. Bring your own insulated water bottle from home. The bottles provided on board have no insulation and they sweat as they quickly lose their chill. No thanks.

No one said that on the relevant thread (link below). In fact no one was cheerleading or defending Regent in any way over this particular issue.

For U.K. guests the notification was given prior to final payment date (90 days prior to embarkation) ………………. but for those in the U.K. guest cancellation at any time leads to loss of deposit 🙁

    Flossie009,

I was under the impression that consumer laws in the United Kingdom would require the cruise line to provide a full refund if they make a substantial change to the itinerary. So, I’m thinking that passengers from the UK might get a full refund instead of losing their deposit.

    What are your thoughts?

You have got to be kidding "Clarks look fine for everything except the GDR and the specialty restaurants"

Here is a pic of Clarks, who would tell me they are not dressy enough with a pair of black casual pressed pants?  I don't get it.

The pictured shoes look great for the main dining room.

I answered your question on the Oceania board, but I am actually a passenger on Regent right now. Neither Oceania or Regent are ideal for kids, but IMHO Regent is even less appropriate for kids than Oceania. No activities for kids, potential negative reaction from guests plus the fact that Regent has zero casual dinner options. All dinner service other than room service is seated service in a fairly formal restaurant surrounding. At least on Oceania there is a very nice casual really good buffet like setup with pizza options. On Regent the area which is buffet during brkfst and lunch turns into a waitstaff served Italian restaurant. Highly recommend against Regent for kids if you have other options.

You’re forgetting Waves, which is on the pool deck and is more casual. I also responded on the O thread specifically with a recent Voyager cruise where a well-behaved 10 or 12-year old was very well received. Depends on so many factors..

Dressing for the GDR and Specialties in a collared button shirt, slacks and shoes is certainly not formal dressing. Runners(CAN) sneakers(USA),trainers(UK) should not be worn in the evening in any dining venue. Refer to O’s own dress code for guidance.
    Dressy jeans is an oxymoron!

    Agree!

  11. I was on a 17 day voyage in February on a Regent ship with a lot of sea days. I only saw one 12-year-old child. He was the son of guest lecturers on the ship, and they were traveling with his grandmother, who only spoke German. My trivia team adopted him, and he really added a lot to our experience. The maximum size for trivia teams is six, and we had six before he joined our team. No one complained that we had “too many” on our team. He was such a cute young man, generally well-behaved, unless he had consumed too much sugar. A few afternoons, he was very twitchy and rambunctious. But we all loved him. I think he was quite the mascot wherever he went on the ship. And let me just say that, although this was not on an Oceania cruise ship, Regent skews very old as well.

When I was about 10 years old, my family traveled internationally, including on a cruise ship. We were pretty wild, not well-behaved like most of these children you are hearing about, but the international travels really had an impact on me (hopefully for the better).

Interesting. I was quoted a price of $898 for a pre-cruise hotel night in Los Angeles and $1,040 for the night after our cruise in Tokyo. I declined 😳 If those rates are half of what you would normally pay - my hats off to you, I’m not paying that for one night.

Its the opposite. They could pay half of those quoted rates if booking directly.

    Enjoy your cruise!

    Freshwater lobsters are crayfish

Yuch! Played with crayfish in the “coolies” (open-air concrete rainwater drainage system) while in Lafayette LA during my childhood. Won’t eat them ever! (We called them crawdads).
