No, definitely not.  But storage looks very limited, even for clothing, especially if you add some nicer evening things and what you may need for certain excursions.  Plus, the 'other stuff' really adds up when you're away for 6 months and visiting 100 ports.  Forget travel sizes 🤣

I’ve read that world cruisers bring LOTS of toiletries, cosmetics, etc. Boxes and boxes! Again, stewards are ready for this and can offer you off-stateroom storage. After all, you only need 1 tube of toothpaste at a time. Ditto, shampoo, etc.

Orv, you answered my drink question. Belvedere is an up charge vodka. Now which would be better Tito's or Belvedere?

This Austin gal always asks for Tito‘s!!!

  3. Although I have never been on a world cruise, I have read posts from other people who have discussed their experiences. One of the tips was to store out of season/extra clothing in your suitcases, which the stewards will store for you. They will return these items to you whenever you wish. Of course, you also have room under your bed, but it’s quite normal for World cruisers to have lots of baggage. You don’t need storage in your state room for 180 days worth of clothes. I’ll bet free laundry comes included in the price, I hope?
    Enjoy your cruise!

I am hoping to find on to book the December 2024 cruise I "held" yesterday. Thanks for the advice.

Also, you could reach out by email to posters who include their contact information in their signature, in case you would like to further the discussion.

  5. I recall, you have mentioned in the past that the Travel Agent topic never came up when you were on board. I would encourage you to make another attempt on your next cruise.

It’s not necessary to ask someone how much they paid for their cruise, just let them know you’re looking for a good travel agent, and do they know one they can recommend to you. Also, good to ask why do they like their travel agent.
Not everyone uses a travel agent, and some people are not satisfied with their travel agent that they are using, but most people are eager to support their travel agent by passing along recommendations to new customers like you. Good luck.

Not upset at all. I actually was in on the Extraordinary Sales event. I just have not felt the need to post about it all the time. And btw….I never mentioned you in my post, but good you at least realize you have posted 200 or more times about it. Carry on…..

    +1!!!!!!

Hi anyone on Japan cruise now might be able to help

We are on Riviera April 25 and Easter falls while we are away.  Any church services at all?

IIRC, every sailing I have been on included non denominational services every Sunday.

  8. Your transfer (by coach bus) from the ship to the airport can/will include several stops along the way to the airport, like an excursion. This option is provided to pax with later flights.
Only you (and your husband and perhaps his doctor) can decide if he is healthy enough to travel.

I completely get all the smoke and mirrors surrounding SM and included or not included gratuities, shore excursions, airfare, hotels, etc.  It isn’t “free”airfare if  I can book a lesser rate w/o airfare.

Here is a novel idea- Just like the good ole days, the price of the cruise is the price of the cruise only. If I want to book a shore excursion, I pay for it. No beer, wine, etc. included with meals. I can buy a beverage package or I can pay by the drink.  Gratuities are not included unless you reach a certain level in the cruise line loyalty program or your TA pays them. Stop trying to lure us in with x amount of OBC, which is, of course, buried in the price, Let’s go back to you pay for what you want and don’t pay for what you don’t want.

The marketing/revenue guys would probably have a coronary over that idea, but the customers wouldn’t, because, as I said,  they pay for what they want and don’t pay for what they don’t want. There would be no confusion over cancelled “included” shore excursions. It is a really unique concept…

Too late - “that ship has sailed” and isn’t coming back. Hope I’m wrong, but don’t think that I am.

The accountants hate those “low revenue” pax. SM is a way to get even those “cheapskates” to pay more (all in the service of the debt!).

  10. If your cruise has several sea days, then it’s a good possibility that there will be hosted bridge games. There is always a sign-up sheet in the card room where you can list your name and stateroom number so that others can contact you to get up a game of social bridge.

    Enjoy your cruise!
