  1. I did mine in September and my bf did his in October and we both got them back in about 2 weeks. A friend just did a name change for hers and I think hers was a week and a half. Even with the holidays thrown in there, you should be fine.

  2. I was worried about the tendering too but I shouldn't have been. In the Fun Times, it listed where everyone needed to be to catch the tenders. Water Based through Carnival was in one lounge, Non-Water Based in another and then those people who did not have tours booked through Carnival went to the Comedy Club.

We ate breakfast and went to the Comedy Club as soon as they announced we could begin tendering. Make sure your whole party is with you, they give you a sticker and you wait for your number to be called. We were given number 4 and went straight down to the tender. We were on the tender with numbers 1-4 and were on the first tender off the ship. It was simple and easy. Once on-shore, you walk out the door to Terminal 1 and the .bz guides were waiting for you outside with signs. A short walk to their van and we were given cold bottled water and were on our way shortly thereafter.

They had us back to the port in plenty of time to do some quick shopping and then head back to the ship. I could not be more pleased with my decision to choose .bz. I can't say enough good things about them.

  3. What time does the excursion start? How do I pay him? I have exchanged emails with him but he is extremely vague. How do I know I can make it back to the tender boat on time?

We took the first tender off the ship. As soon as they had enough people to fill a van (approximately 12 to 14, if I remember) we left to head to the caves. We stopped at the business headquarters and everyone paid (I used cash, they charge a 10% fee if you use credit). We were back to the port with plenty of time to spare. I had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate to use them again.

  5. We just got back from our cruise about 2 weeks ago. We went with .bz and were very impressed. Our guides were Sean and Andy and they were both amazing. They gave a lot of great information while we were driving out to the caves. Once there, they give a personal tour of the jungle, talking about the plants, animals and cave formations you are seeing. We saw several other tour groups go by out group that were just trekking to the cave with no tour or explanation of what they were seeing. They found a tarantula, leaf cutter ants and termites (they will even let you eat one if you want) for us to see. I feel like we had the best tour on the river.

Lunch is all you can eat adobo chicken, rice, beans and coleslaw as well as rum punch, soda or water. When they picked us up, they had cold bottles of water for us and an airconditioned van.

    I highly recommend .bz!

  6. We did cavetubing with cavetubing.bz in Belize. It was a great tour. You have a bus ride (with commentary) out to the cave system. We hiked through the jungle with our guides explaining what plants and animals we were seeing. The tubes are carried to the river for you and they have a solid bottom and a headrest. Then they are hooked together by clips and you float down the river through the cave system, again with your guide explaining what you are seeing. Afterwards, you are taken to their office and given a lunch of chicken, rice and beans (as much as you want), soda, water or rum punch before being brought back to the port.

In Roatan, we did #10 Monkey Trail Zipline, Park and Beach through Rony's Tours. We had a blast. There are 12 ziplines, then you are given a private guide that takes you through Gumbalimba Park where you can interact with parrots and monkeys. Afterwards, we had time to snorkel or play at the beach. On our way back to the port, our guide stopped at a couple of scenic spots so we could take pictures. It was the highlight of my trip.

  7. We used Rony's Tours last week and were very happy. We did a pre-packaged tour #10 Monkey Trail Zipline, Park and Beach. The zipline was at Gumbalimba park, which is also where we were able to hold the monkeys and parrots. The monkeys were wild but trained to come down and interact for food. I really wanted something where the monkeys were not caged or on leashes. The beach was shallow but they do snorkel tours out to the reef, which was amazing. I saw some huge fish out at the reef. Our guide stopped anytime we wanted to so we could take pictures of the island. It was my favorite port on the trip and my favorite excursion.

  8. The path to the cave is dirt and gravel so it depends on how tenderfooted your kids are. I wore water shoes and there were a few times I wished I had something more substantial but it wasn't bad. Tevas would work just fine, just make sure they strap on so you don't lose them in the water.

We just did this excursion and were very pleased. Our guides did an actual tour and explained what we were seeing. The other tube companies just hustled people through the jungle and then in/out of the caves.

  9. We just got off the Dream on Sunday and we did cavetubing.bz in Belize. We had a fantastic time. They do a walking tour through the jungle explaining what all the trees and plants are, they showed us leaf cutter ants (watch out they bite), a tarantula and termites. I thought the termites tasted like carrots, not mint. We paid at their office (don't remember if it was before or after). The other cavetubing groups just walked through the jungle with no explanation and it was the same in the caves as well. I was very, very happy with our tour.

  10. I live in the Seattle area. You can spend a day wandering through Pike Place (visit the gun wall, gross) Market and/or the waterfront. If you enjoy seafood, you might enjoy the Crab Pot on the water or Ivar's. The Aquarium is fun (a little pricy). Other fun things to do that have been mentioned are the Space Needle and Chihuly Glass exhibit next door. The Great Wheel near the Aquarium is fun. Ride the Ducks or the Underground Tour in Pioneer Square are fun tours that give a little history of the city. Riding a ferry is fun too if you've never done it.

The best thing for Seattle and Alaska are layers. It totally depends on the weather if you will be comfortable or freezing. The layers help keep you comfortable for any possible situation. A lightweight rain jacket is important, because you will be visiting Seattle :) Ketchikan is notoriously rainy as well. If you get cold, they sell hats and sweatshirts and such in every port.
