  1. 4 adults wish to travel from the cruiseport to Coki beach and back to the port. An online booking with Viator will cost $30 per person.

    Does that seem reasonable?

    Has anyone used them?

Also, what is the cost of a taxi roundtrip? Are they reliable?

    Any other suggestions?

  2. Yes, 6591 is a great location to see the parade. I would only recommend that you see if 6283 or 6583 is available, as they are not connecting staterooms. Otherwise, the location is great. :)

Thanks for the speedy response. We will be doing a BB and want to stay in the same room. 6283 or 6583 is not available on both legs. I don't think the connecting stateroom will be a problem

  3. You're so right. The $100 fee isn't enough. Next time I'll send flowers:D

I am sorry that you needed to cancel and that you were charged the agreed upon cancellation fee for 10 minutes of work. I have also booked many cruises with them and was extremely pleased with the price, OBC and prepaid gratuities that I had received for the 10 minutes of work.

Recently I booked a cruise that I knew that I might change or cancel so I opted to use another TA that charged no cancellation fee.. The downside is that if their are no changes to that booking then the trip will be $200 higher. Sure, I will be upset for the increased cost but there is no one to blame but me. It's a choice that I have made just as it was a choice that you have made. You rolled the dice? However, kudos to the agency for sending the $100 voucher which shows that they value you as a customer.

  4. I just made final payment, purchased my travel insurance and was diagnosed with vertigo on Thursday and now taking Serc (med). Has anyone sailed with vertigo and what recommendations can you provide? I'm hoping that by the time I go, I will be better but I understand this can return anytime, just like it starts. I'll be sailing from Baltimore south to the Bahamas and Key West during the Christmas week. I have never sailed on the ocean just in the Caribbean. Is the water very rough? I'm looking for answers as I don't want to have to think about cancelling this trip.

    T.O.

I had been diagnosed years ago and my first couple of cruises were not my best. Taking the prescribed meclazine would put me to sleep but it did help with motion. Sleeping was not my idea of a good vacation.

I adjusted the dosage to a half pill and have been pleased with the results. I always book low and center and that has been extremely helpful. You can get your meclazine tablets at Guest Relations during your voyage. Also, I do bring ginger pills but peppermint lifesavers have proven useful.

So, down low and center, half a tablet 2x per day and peppermint lifesavers did the trick for me.

    Bon Voyage

  5. My small business TA gives between 8.5% and 10% typically and charges nothing for any of the many changes and cancellations I have made over the years. And she is available 24/7 as I have her cell phone number. She and her employees are very quick to respond. And to top it off, while I was on a cruise during the initial BOGOHO sale in early May 2014, she and her staff went thru' every RCI cruise they had booked for all customers to see if they could get lower prices due to that sale! When I got home from that cruise, she had already lowered the price on two of my booked cruises!

Sounds like you have a phenomenal TA. If you wouldn't mind sharing the contact with sosc1@yahoo, it would be appreciated

  6. Not seeing the $618. What sailing date?

As you said yourself..... totally unpredictable. I've tracked Happy Hour/Tuesday Sale/GGG sale prices and just when I think I'll book, it goes up $100-$200 per person and does not show up again the following week. SO I had to go book plan B or C which I had also been tracking.

I've personally booked several GGG sales in prev years and found excellent prices... and then they went up quite a bit within a couple of weeks before sailing. However this past year during BOGOHO1 during the first week of that sale I found many prices even better than GGG. Like any product in any store, it's advantageous to know pricing of various ships/itineraries, current economy and variables that might affect a ship not being booked, and plenty of other things... and even then really hard to tell what could happen. Ie. some of the Nov/Dec 2015 offerings on the current WOW sale are actually quite awesome considering our last few months on CC talking about RCL's super high pricing (for example, 10 day Carib - Grandeur $618pp inside with $200 OBC)

I've also seen some great deals not advertised just pop up out of the blue in order to fill the ship. Somehow, and I think it makes sense that, RCL tracks hits for quotes/reservations of various cruises on their systems, that way they can see how many people are pulling up mock bookings and not booking, etc

The question for you is: If you don't book because you want to save $30, but next week you see that there aren't as many cabins left and the price is up $200, will you be upset? Conversely, if you book today, and the price drops $200 next week will you be upset? Only you can answer these questions!

    Have a great cruise!! :D

  7. Well, it has been some time since I posted on this particular thread. Just slipped my mind to get back.

Now that I had chosen Carnival Dream to cruise, I wondered that maybe that it was just a coincidence that we enjoyed ourselves so much after hearing all of the bashing of CCL. So, we tried cruising on the Pride out of Baltimore and I must say that I would not hesitate to book again. We enjoyed our CCL cruises as much as RCCL and itinerary will drive our selections.

  8. 6309 is the room that we ALWAYS book on Freedom. If it isn't available we could get 6311 or even 6313. Those rooms overlook the Cafe Promenade and you go down one level to My Time dining and the elevators and not far at all. Also, since we're right above the Cupcake Cupboard it's quiet. Love this room!

What do you think if I could choose between 6307 and 6311? Will the Ben & Jerry's sign block the view of the promenade events? 6305 has the cows on the roof

  9. I have sailed 16 times but all on RCCL and Celebrity. I have enjoyed the food, entertainment and activities on all of our cruises. I will be cruising next year out of FLA on RCCL but am also looking at NCL Dawn and Carnival Dream while I am there.

Which would be your preference and why based on your experiences?

  10. I booked the EOS and asked for an inside lower deck stateroom. I chose 2589 as it is midship and should help alleviate some of the motion. I have never been this low and my question now would be in reference to engine noise. What do you think? Have you had any experiences, good or bad, on the lower decks?
