  1. Yes I experienced the same thing on the Jewel. To me it was like sleeping next to an aquarium. I kinda liked it, but I can see how this could irritate others, especially paying premium for the Haven. I wish I could remember the room number I was in. I know I was very close to the entrance to the Haven pool and we were in a 2 bedroom suite. I've had three other 2 bedroom suites and never experienced this, just on the jewel in the haven.

  2. Leave early, Traffic after 1:00 is going to be awful, with over 12,000 people trying to leave the area. I'd do like the other poster said, have breakfast somewhere to past the time. I also think it's absurd to have a race and close down the roads in the surrounding area expecting others to just deal with it.

  3. -You should have a flower arrangement in your room upon arrival, it comes with all suites. (standard)

-Fruit basket comes in all suites. (standard)

-As far as a banner goes they sell the package online under Gifts and More. If you purchase this banner package it will all be set up when you arrive to the room, you don't have to set it up.

-Special replicated dessert. Pretty sure this isn't going to happen, but never hurts to ask once onboard.

  4. If your room number starts with "S" or "H" they will know.

That's what I thought. I figured it had some kind of marking but the only thing my docs says is:

    11020 - FWD DECK 11

Maybe suite guest checks in with everyone else?

  5. We are sailing on the Star out of Civitavecchia Rome Italy in a suite. We have been in other suites before, and always had a separate area that suite guest would go to sit, and have snacks and drinks while waiting to board the ship. Does Civitavecchia also offer this for suite guest? It's been two years since my last NCL cruise and I don't see anywhere on my cruise docs where it states I'm a suite. For some reason it seems like it was always listed on previous cruise docs but now it's just got the cabin number. Not sure how they would know I'm in a suite just by glancing at the cabin number. Have things changed?

  6. My husband takes cash advance from his cc and earns points!

I've never done a cash advance from a CC. Can you tell me how this works. Like, Do you get the advance at the ATM. Do you pay ATM fee and how much can you take out at a time?

The earning points sounds great but not if the fees are costing more than the points earned.

  7. Just bring the cash...no sense in losing 3% of your funds right off the bat...the slots will take care of that for you, I'm sure! Larger bills are easier to carry...the casino can break them down, if you want to.

That was my thoughts. The casino will most likely be getting my casino fun, but they also want an extra 3%! Heck no! 3% might not seem like much but it's the point really.

I even thought about getting travelers checks, but then after thinking about it, It started sounding like one big headache.

  8. Every cruise we take cash for the casino. Not really a problem, but this next cruise we are on a 15 day cruise. I was wondering if we could charge money to our room to play in the slots. Not really sure how this all work or even if it's allowed. But it seems like it would be more convenient to charge to our cabin and not have to deal with large sums of money. Another question is, Does NCL limit how much you can charge to your cabin? Any and all info regarding this would be so helpful. Thank you!

  9. I just booked a cruise on the Jade for my first time cruise. I have the promotional drink package included. If I use the items in the fridge, will I be charged or does the drink package cover it? Thank you!

You will be charged, they are not included in the drink package.

  10. We will be on a 15 day cruise in NOV. I'm sure we are going to do movie and snacks a few times. You said the night butler brought you drinks. If you have the UBP will they bring you alcohol? Also wondering will they bring you a soda with your meal or is this something I'd have to run to the bar to get? Last time we were on a ncl cruise was may 2015 and so many things have changed since then. Although we've had a few suites over the years, we've never really used the butler for much, except to fill coffee, water and the usual daily snacks.

I believe the first late night we had a couple of sandwiches and drinks and it was $6...the second time we had a friend stop by and we had a "movie" night and ordered pizza , wings and some other snack I forget what.....and a few drinks. We had UBP but we were in jammies and after a bit nobody wanted to do the bar run. We tipped $10 that night. No rhyme or reason to the tipping so can't say it was appropriate or not but he seemed very friendly, accommodating and a bit surprised when we tipped even though we explained we wanted to make sure he got something. I have to add that while it seems so dumb and boring to have movie night in the cabin on a cruise when there are so many fun activities around us. We didn't plan to stay in the cabin, we gave our friend a tour of our haven suite..sat down and waited for one friend to get ready to go to the casino, while we waited started watching a movie ...got hooked....changed back to jammies and had the best evening with friends and lots of laughs.
  11. I think there is also a charge for the pizza.

I think someone said if your booked in a suite it's included, so no charge. I could be wrong, maybe charged for the pizza but not charged for the delivery. Pizza and a late night movie sounds nice.

  12. Past three cruises no signatures required anywhere.

Drinks with little or no effort to make i.e. Crown Royal & Club soda left no tip unless ordering 2 or more for the cabin.

Drinks that take some time to blend concoct shake stir foment and entertain while making with a flourish - yes - tips - class act.

Still yet without paper receipts and signatures - your cabin Key card has to be swiped as a method of inventory

control accountability and marketing (what the cruise customer is trending in beverages).

    Perfect. Thank you.

  13. If you have the UBP you will have paid 18% extra to cover the normal tips. You DON'T have to tip further unless you really want to.

I understand we already paid the 18% but I was wondering if after ordering a beverage are you given a receipt to sign? Many times we make friends with the casino bartenders and like to tip extra. Just wondering so I can be prepared to bring extra cash for tips if needed. TIA
