1. you also get free pay per view movies! one night we stayed in to watch one and ordered pizza. it was awesome. my fiance also loved to order pizza for late night, and would order it from anywhere on teh ship with the cordless phone that comes with your room. he got the biggest kick out of doing that for some reason, and coming back to the room to have the pizza there and waiting.

I had no idea about the pizza. What is the cost?

  2. We are directly across the haven now. You definitely have the bright blue light from the deck "globes" below.

What is your Butlers name? We will be sailing soon and I was wondering who are Butler will be this next time around. :)

  3. Sorry to hear your cruise was cancelled. Call me crazy, but I think NCL should refund all the money that your out (flights, hotel, cruise), and they should gift you a free cruise to use on your next vacation. That is the only thing they could do to make it up to me. I know problems happen, but the ship is NCL's responsibility and should mechanical problems arise that calls for cancellations, NCL should over compensate to make it as right as possible.

  4. Going on th Dawn next month. We sailed on the Dawn in 2011 and I don't recall the Java Cafe..oops. I hope they have decaf iced coffee. Do they have a coffee card like they do on Princess?? Anyone know?? Last 2 times we sailed Princess in 2010 and 2011 we had coffee cards. Thanks!!

They don't have a coffee card. I wish they did!

  5. They must not want people calling with preferences for their suite because they have changed the letter and they don't list anything like the previous letter asking about pillow, coffee, etc. But maybe that is because they were not fulfilling the request before guest boarded, and they figured why ask for preference when they aren't going to implement the request to begin with.

They state in the letter "To further assist you with your pre-cruise preparation and planning, be sure to view your welcome aboard booklet online @ ncl.com/welcomethehaven for valuable information and answers to any questions you may have about your cruise.

As a guest of the Haven, you can make special request and arrange a variety of services and amenities prior to your sailing through our concierge desk. Call 1800-625-4283"

They don't list what falls under "variety of services" nor "special request". And whats up with "be sure to view your welcome aboard booklet online @ ncl.com/welcomethehaven"? How about printing me a REAL booklet and sending it to my home? Or listing examples of the "variety of services and special request" that are offered. Not everyone is as familiar with the variety of services or special request that they are referring to.

  6. These increased fees that NCL/FDR have incorporated have left a very bad taste in my mouth. I actually lost sleep over this last night, which is ridiculous considering the fact that I'm supposed to be planning a wonderful vacation for my husband and myself.

We got a great price for our Escape Haven Penthouse Suite by booking early, but only got the $300 OBC that is now part of the Freestyle Promotion and not the UDP, UBP, or prepaid DSC.

We wouldn't have been hurt too much by NCL's increased fees, but it's the way they were just shoved upon us with no warning and how it's really going to impact family cruisers that upsets me the most.

In the Yacht Club on Divina we'll pay $170.32 more and get a larger cabin and balcony and everything that the Haven offers, as well as unlimited beverages and free access to our mini bar contents that have COCA COLA (!) products and snacks inside. Plus, we'll get $200 OBC. Oh yeah, and free room service.

So I'm just curious.....is anyone else jumping ship from NCL?

When I booked our 9 day Alaska cruise We had to pay in full, we didn't really plan this cruise so we only had a couple months before we set sail. I would have cancelled if given that option, after hearing about all the new changes. Not because of the extra money being charged, but because I REALLY don't like how these new changes have been implemented. I will have to look into the Yacht Club, I've seen this come up a lot in the past couple days. Me and my husband really enjoyed the 2BR suites on NCL because when we take my mom with us she has her own bedroom and bathroom, but we also book this cabin when it's just the two of us because we like the setup and the Haven is a plus. Do they offer anything like 2 bedroom 2 bath cabins on Divina?

  7.
Of course not. The people with money to spare book there and are spoiled. Then there is the average person who is thrilled to even get a good deal and are the ones paying extra.
HaHa...I laughed really hard at this comment. As if we don't work for our money like you? I actually think it's the ones staying in Haven/Suites that make up for the interior cabins low prices. If that isn't the case then why am I paying four times the price of a balcony not to mention how much more I'm paying over a interior cabin.
  8. Norwegian Cruise Line has introduced a new enhanced room service menu that is debuting on board Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Breakaway. The new menu offers an expanded selection for breakfast in addition to a wider variety of options available on the 24 hour menu. Individual items on the menu remain available on a complimentary basis and a convenience charge of up to $7.95 will be added to each order placed. Room service is one of up to 29 dining options offered across the fleet, and guests continue to be able to enjoy a wide array of complimentary choices onboard 24 hours a day.

More money, more money, more money. How about letting me know about all these changes before I paid in FULL.

  9. It doesn't matter if you use room service or NOT. The point that pisses everyone off is booking a cruise understanding what was included and charged, and then finding out after final payment has passed that they have increased many things and now charge for things that were listed as complementary. I'm in the Haven and have always booked suites so even though this "room service" charge most likely will not affect me, doesn't change the fact that NCL is doing a horrible job at being forthright with what is included in your fare and how much you can expect to pay extra for all the new changes that they have come up with over night. A deal is a deal...You don't get to change prices once you have our money. And remember!, Just because this may not affect you this time, doesn't mean the next change wont.

  10. I also had this problem before, but that is because I was trying to book online...I had to call NCL to book my room because they have more accurate information on a cabins availability, than what is shown online. The room that was showing sold out online, actually had two cabins still available. Come to think of it, this has happened twice to me. Good luck

  11. Are you asking just about the nightly shows? For after the show entertainment do not miss Next Stage, usually in the Spinnaker. Awesome talent ranging from classic rock, country, and pop. Keep and eye on the Dailies for where they are playing - especially if you like to dance.

And for fun you will not soon forget, get to the Dance Like a Norwegian, Liar, Liar and The Qwest shows in the Spinnaker. The competitiveness comes out when you are surrounded by people you will never see again!! Hilarious:eek:

Do they still do the Qwest? I thought I read somewhere that they stopped doing this game...We are taking my mom with us on our next Jewel cruise and she has never seen the Qwest show and I really wanted her to go with us to watch it. :D

  12. Does anyone have a picture (or any information) of the second bedroom (the smaller one) for the 2-Bedroom Family Suite w/balcony on the Star? We're trying to decide if it will work for us.

Thank you in advance for replies.

Check YouTube. We have been in a two bedroom on the star, and jewel and the layout is the same on the older fleets and maybe the new ones. It has it's own door, small bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. I think the sofa is a full bed and a twin bunk that folds down. It has a closet, tv, phone, blow dryer. We love the 2 bedroom...even when me and my husband cruise alone we book this room because it's really a nice cabin! We don't have kids but we take my mom with us sometimes and she stays in the spare room and is happy to have her own private space.

  13. Thanks! My partner and I are already in the spa mini suite on the Epic on 2/8 but was considering a change to the Haven 2br suite. Don't want miss the spa since so many rave about it. So we will stay where we are.

The 2 br suite is my FAVORITE! You will love the room and all that comes with the suite that doesn't come with the mini. If you can swing the cost, I recommend the suite.

  14. That is troubling I'll be on the jewel this Sunday. I believe I read that some of the staff for the suites were switching out for other ships or vacations. I hope the staff is up to par on our cruise. Guess I'll find out soon enough. Btw can you share with us what kind of suite you were in?
