That is as many as we put down at our place, but I try to just do it every other year, with a little top dressing in between. If you had the storm we just had, you probably had some wash away.

Just curious, do they have the Patters available in electronic format that you can view on your phone or iPad?

Have a great cruise. The Sun rises for us in January. Would be interested in hearing if everything is up and running on the ship yet.

Today we want to celebrate our oldest grandson Chris for doing something selfless and generous. A while back he signed up for one of those "be the match" registries. Well, they found a match for a patient with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and today he starts the process to donate stem cells for a transfusion. Next week he'll fly to Houston to complete the procedure, which essentially involves several hours of blood donation (for lack of a better explanation) to harvest his stem cells.
I can't even find the words to express my feelings about the most generous gift that Chris is donating to this woman who I'm sure will be eternally grateful for a second chance at life. Chris, who is 20 years old, is our oldest grandson. He makes us so very proud!!❤️
That sounds like a wonderful gift from your grandson, Chris.- 1

Now, I may need some advice on a granddaughter who may be growing up too fast.
As you may recall, she just turned 9 last month.
My daughter picked her up from dance class last night, and they were on their way to my grandson’s baseball game when my daughter executed one of those “rolling stop” maneuvers. Well, lights and sirens came on, and she got pulled over. After she handed over her license and registration, and the officer started walking away, my granddaughter says in her not so quiet voice….. “Oooh mom, he is a cute one!”
He must have heard her, because he was smiling when he came back, and he let her off with a warning.
I am just not ready for those kind of words to be coming out of that little girl’s mouth.

Why do all appliances and pets develop issues at 5 pm on a Friday?
That has always been our experience, on the timeframe for things to break down.- 3

We sail early August and reserved things months ago. No problems.

I don't have central air and rely on window air conditioners. Much like autumn when I try to go as long as possible before turning on the heat, I try to wait until at least mid-June before putting the units in the window. Certainly never before Memorial Day.
The heat & humidity the past couple of days has certainly been testing my resolve.
All of those big oak trees are a pain to deal with, but then they keep our house 10° to 15° cooler in all the shade. Here, we get one or two days a year when I think it might be nice to have AC, but then night falls and it cools down.Plus, with all the trees, it keeps our house hidden from overhead surveillance. This is our overhead view.
Don’t know why our neighbor insists on having his roof visible?

If y'all lived in New England you wouldn't even know yet if you had AC problems as there been no need to turn it on.🙂
What is this AC you people talk about? I have never lived in a house with AC.- 1

Well, I just booked another cruise today. Is it still considered a S2S when you get off one cruise line (Sun Princess), and get on another (Oasis)?
Gives us an excuse to stay in Florida longer this winter.

Has Susan had any longtime effects from the tick? I surely hope not!
Nothing long term, but she was really sick for quite a while. I told her not to do that this year, because she missed about a month of fun with our grandson last summer.

Today, we drove to New Wilmington for lunch. When our daughter was in college there, we discovered a restaurant called The Tavern on the Square. It had been around since the 1930’s
It always had good comfort food, and the best sticky buns. Sadly, it closed during the pandemic. The last couple years, new owners did some remodeling and additions. Today was a soft opening, so we thought it may be a good time to try it out.
Anyplace that has a Cuban on the menu will see me ordering it to see if it is good.
The Cuban wasn’t too bad, although many things on their menu were higher in price than normal for the area.
It was rather novel that they use old books to deliver your check.
It is not unusual to see those Amish buggies, like depicted on the sign, drive by as you are eating. This is, after all, the heart of Amish country in Western Pennsylvania.

Yesterday’s lunch involved collecting more ducks.
It was a little light on the grenadine. It was supposed to be red, like the one in the picture.
Then we strolled through the mall, and found that the wrinkled, trash bag look must be the new style.
Susan said No thanks, when I told her I would get her one.

I think the ultimate ear worm has to be Mahna Mahna from The Muppet Show:
It’s a small world tune by Disney is my ear worm. I would like to avoid that at Disney this summer, but that probably won’t happen.- 1

I moved onto the back yard, where there are two trees with low branches that I will ride under, while at the same time, I'm ducking my head and hoping a tick isn't in the tree. As I got to the first tree, I felt something go into my eye, but I thought it was just pollen. I continued mowing, and moved on to cleaning pollen off all of the patio furniture.
Hope you eye is ok. Stay away from those ticks. Susan had Lyme disease last summer from a tick, and it was horrible.
She found two ticks on her yesterday while she was out weeding.

I was just to a concert, on Sunday, that was all Disney tunes for 2+ hours. Of course, the only reason I was there was because my granddaughter was singing. Her group only had a small portion with a melody of about 15 Disney tunes.
What I found really annoying was the lady seated behind us who thought she should sing when the kids were singing. Her off key accompaniment kind of ruined part of the performance for us.
And, as they get to the part of the Mickey Mouse song that says “see you real soon now” the lady announces “ok, we are all going to the bathroom now”, as their group gets up to leave mid performance.
I just said “Thank GOD!”

Catching up this morning while enjoying some jets on my back in the hot tub. Yesterday was a long day of yard work and outdoor cleaning. More to be done today as we get ready for a Memorial Day party.
This morning, I have to take Ricky to the vet again for another blood test. Hopefully this will be the last one. He seems to be doing well.

If I still have unused vouchers at the end of the day, I grab a can of soda or a bottle of water to take back to my room. I've even been know to ask my room attendant what their favorite soda or beer is, and use up my vouchers to leave them a little treat.
We do the same, and an unopened bottle of Grolsh works as well. No opener needed with those flip tops.- 1

Time for an actual cruising question. We're doing a family cruise on Wonder in November. Same old, same old itinerary...St. Maarten, St. Thomas, CocoCay. I'm looking for ideas on St. Maarten. For our first visit there many years ago (including daughters), we did a round the island tour with Bernard's Tours and enjoyed it. We've since been to Maho Beach several times, and now typically just do a beach/shopping day in Philipsburg. The "kids" with us are all in their late 20s and will want to do something more active. We could try Bernard's again...anyone used them recently? Any other ideas for something new and different?
We did parasailing from one of the vendors at Orient Beach, but just don’t wander too far to the clothing optional section. For something different, there is always The Yoda Guy place. If anyone is interested in movie props and memorabilia, this is interesting. Nick Maley has done a lot of special effects models for Star Wars, Terminator, and many other movies, and many are on display. Nick is usually there after 10 each day, and if you pay for a tour, you can meet and talk with him and get a photo with him. The tour is an hour or less.
This is Nick with one of his Yodas (with part of me cropped out so I don’t get confused with Yoda)
A Yoda in progress
Stormtrooper
Terminator

We got this in the mail yesterday, reminding us we can soon book our Disney dining.
I guess I will need to get out the list I made earlier, to see if I need to make any changes.
We fly to California, three weeks from tomorrow, to pick up our grandson and start Summer of Fun 4.0. Yes, a week at Disney will be part of that fun!- 21

Couple of busy days for us. Getting ready now to drive to our granddaughter’s dance recital tonight. Four different costume changes for her. Had to buy our tickets from Ticketmaster, so this must be the big time.
We are in between rain showers, so I hope it holds off till she gets inside the venue so her hair stays nice.
