We went to Private Stock Headliner Showtime in the theatre. They were a good band, but way, way too loud. We were all the way in the back of the balcony, and I was still getting noise level notifications. When it hit 101 db, we were already on our way out the door. A lot of others left too, and I think it was because of the noise level. Don’t know why Royal doesn’t keep the volume levels lower. Maybe they have stock in hearing aid companies.

A couple of photos from snorkeling today. Not the clearest water or most colorful fish, but ok for where we were.

I think it was a good decision to come to Cabana beach, instead of Mambo Beach. We walked over to Mambo, which is beside cabana beach, and it was insanely packed. Mambo was where the ship excursion went. Better service and fewer people here. Ready to meet our taxi back. Will have to wait to see if my snorkeling photos turned out.

Today is a beach day for us. Took a cab to Cabana Beach, rented some loungers and a thatch roof umbrella, and ate currently sampling drinks. Daryl is too young for a blue curaçao mojito Tasty

So what I do to have the cruise compass on my phone. When you get in your cabin on the first day, there is a QR code on a card. Scan it, and it will open it in a browser window. Then I save it to files on my iPhone, and just add the day to the file name and save it. If you keep that browser tab open, all you need to do is refresh it each day to get the compass for that day. If you don’t have the QR code card, you can enter this while onboard. https://minio.rccl.com/compass/cruisecompass.pdf

And now, for the first time ever in a cruise report. If you ever wondered what the inside of the cabin door lock looks like, here it is. I stepped out of our cabin, and found the cover had fallen off. Hmmm, wonder if I could charge Royal for my repair to put the cover back on. Knowing them, they would probably say Daryl made it fall off. 🤣

One thing I discovered when I went to order some drinks at schooner bar, was that I was apparently with the wrong woman. I know, I didn’t have that many drinks. But when I pulled out Susan’s card, to order us some drinks, her name had changed to Elizabeth. Evidently, they gave her back the wrong card when we were in the Crown lounge. So we headed off to guest services to get a new card. So now it is maybe good, but it doesn’t open our door. Looks like I will need to make another trip in the morning. I did have them make me a Union Jack Lava Flow at Schooner bar, and they did good with it. Glad I had the recipe with me, because they didn’t have a clue.

Tonight, we had the ice show, 1977. I thought the set and costumes were a little dark for some scenes. Liked the drone opening The Royal guards kept the theme at the beginning The skating was excellent I would be dead if I tried this wheel thing. The middle part was hard to follow, but we enjoyed the music at the end

We got one of the thatch roof umbrellas and a couple lounge chairs for $40. The water was warm after we got in, and the views were not bad. Since I saw pictures of snowmen back home, I made a sandman. It must have been popular, because several people stopped to take pictures. The rest of the afternoon involved relaxation.

Decided to walk to Eagle Beach for the afternoon. We found a nice little beach bar along the way for some food and drink. I can confirm that the beach bar loaded rum was very good We had a flatbread veggie pizza And the views were nice.

Aruba today. We didn’t have any excursions booked, so one of the first things we did was seek out an optical place to repair Susan’s glasses. She had lost the nose pad to one side, and we found the ship doesn’t sell any repair kits. So we found this place, just off the ship. They were great. $4 and she was good as new.
