  1. As Hoopster95 mentioned, at sailaway we had a Helicopter join us when we got out of the channel and we did a 360 degree turn while it flew around us taking video for a promotion.

DH and I had a similar experience on our Oasis cruise - the Allure had just arrived in Ft Lauderdale for her maiden voyage and we met her out at sea and sailed side by side with the water boats and helicopter surrounding us.

This was just posted on the 'Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society' FB page. I don't know if this will be blocked since CC doesn't like FB (even though they themselves have a page there:rolleyes:), but let's see:

  2. delacruz and hubby also went to Sabor on a different night and expressed that this was also one of there best dining experiences ever. Delacruz, I wouldn't mind if you posted your thoughts on service, meal, etc as I'll include my thoughts on Sabor within my Cozumel post coming up this evening. Or if you want to wait til tomorrow that's cool too. I think you had several different things than what we did... but let me comment on the desert ;)

Regarding your question "Did you miss out?" Yes, unfortunately I think you did imho... Which just means you'll just have to book another Navigator cruise!!:p:D

oh, and btw it's $35pp (isn't it?)... and totally worth it for something different and utterly delicious. Seriously, I could barely get my a$$ off my seat after eating there, so very very good I ate a ton. It was fantastic :)

No, I'm pretty sure Sabors is $25 pp. We went on Wed - Roatan day. In the first couple of weeks after the Navigator returned from dry dock, the Sabor reviews were very negative and it was sounding like they made a mistake, especially on a ship that sails from a port with so much Tex-Mex available. However, in the few weeks before our sailing, we started seeing glowing reviews, so I guess it was just taking them time to get into the flow. Also, this is coined 'MODERN Mexican', it isn't Tex-Mex, Mexican, but a fresh, flavorful twist.

My response to 'did you miss out' is that in the middle of our meal we booked it again for 2 nights later. (Unfortunately we ended up cancelling that because after Hoopster raved to us about Giovanni's table we had to make room for that!).

I'm not certain I can put my finger on any single thing that made this such an excellent experience - it was the whole package. Every single member of the staff has such enthusiasm for what they are presenting there that it is contagious....from the host, waiters, server preparing the tableside guacamole (OMG! I love guacamole anyway, but I can't tell you how many times I heard from guests who dislike it but ate every bit of it at Sabors). Even the chef came out to greet us after we sent our raves to the kitchen (he is Filipino, but he said a Mexican chef trained him for Sabors).

A bit of background - DH Paul has been in the restaurant business in some shape or form for 45 years, 25 as an executive chef. I'm used to every meal being delicious:), and when we dine out we appreciate the care taken to prepare a great meal. And we both agree that this was among the top 5 meals we have enjoyed.

Paul started out with one of their signature Margaritas - a cucumber/Grand Marnier/Jalapeno combination - the best Margarita he has had to date. I had the horizontal Tequila flight (it almost made ME horizontal) that was served with a refreshing interesting spicy tomato juice - so good Paul asked for a glass of it with a shot of Patron mixed in! The bartender pouring the shots had such pride in the variety of tequila on his cart.

Paul enjoyed the Oaxacan Ceviche of Red Snapper, and the Gazpacho Mexicano that I ordered was delicious.

Paul (who has traveled extensively through Central America) says his Carne Asada was the best he's had. I had a lot of trouble deciding on what to order, and enjoyed the Chicken and Roasted Corn Empanadas.

I can't tell you about the dessert since Hoopster95 asked me to let him talk about it. :p

I hope Royal Caribbean considers adding this venue to some of the other ships.

  3. I've done several private tours with VB, and they were all excellent. In my opinion, that's the way to go...you can't beat the price or the service!

I just received a nice follow-up email from Victor, with a forward of the email that was sent to all the independent tour operators from the Port of Roatan mid-day stating we were setting sail at 3pm. He's working on following up on that and was very responsive to the issues we had.

Thanks for a great review! We booked VB private tour with four of us and it was great! The only issue we had was when we were at West Bay, our driver Isaac took my husband into one of the condos trying to get a salesman to speak with him. DH had walked with me as Isaac was showing me where to snorkel and instead of walking back, he told him he wanted to show him something! That will be included in our review. We loved Roatan and the snorkeling was spectacular considering it was right off the beach.

We also enjoyed the snorkeling off the beach (on the left side as you face the ocean near the inflatable water thingy).

One thing none of us mentioned about the beach in Roatan was the number of vendors walking by all day. At least they took 'not interested' for an answer, but after 3 women passed by in less than a minute asking if we want a massage, why would the 4th one think we would say yes?

I found myself constantly shaking my head 'no', and wished I had a sign to stick in front of my chair 'No, I am not interested in..a Massage, Jewelry, a Hammock, conch shells, etc.' I know this is how a lot of locals earn a living, but I felt that the sheer numbers of them took away from the beautiful surroundings we were in.

I don't want to take away from Hoopster's wonderful review, but think a heads up to know what to expect can be helpful.

  4. After another early morning and busy day, we didn't go up to Cosmopolitan Club tonight as we were beat, so we headed straight for the sack. It's Cozumel tomorrow... stay tuned :D

I really should do my own review instead of jumping on your bandwagon, but I'm too lazy (or relaxed from a great vacation!) to get started!:p

Since you guys didn't make it to the Cosmopolitan Club that night I thought I'd fill in that this was the night for the 'SILENT DISCO' at 10-11pm.

You picked up a headset when you walked in, with an A/B/off switch and a volume control. There were 2 DJs - one playing older disco like Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, Tina Turner, etc.; the other playing House and newer music. It was the FUNNEST thing we did entertainment-wise that week. If you just wanted to chat over a drink, you could sit and not have to shout...although you heard a lot of people singing off-key and laughing. It was a hoot to watch one group dancing and singing to Proud Mary and the other to something like Counting Stars. Of course, when the Cupid Shuffle and the Wobble came on back to back EVERYONE was on THAT channel!:D

I wished they had done that more often, but I suppose the novelty would wear off after a while.

  5. Great idea... thx for posting this.

By the way I want to mention that VB's pre-cruise confirmation and post-cruise follow up is excellent. I was sent a review, which I did send back with the info I posted and the various situations. We emailed each other back and forth a few times the last two days discussing things, and he wished for me to come back and allow him to give me a better experience. I like this private tour idea and would give it a try.

I'm glad you got a response from him. I also replied to his review email with the same concerns about the lack of communication and rushing by the 'tour guide', but haven't heard back from him. I agree that the pre-excursion communication was excellent, and a private tour would be a great way to not deal with the issues we had. I have a feeling someone from our tour was whining behind the scenes about having too much beach time and not enough time for shopping (which we would have had anyway) and Dahlia, who was less than enthusiastic to start with, caved to that.

Given the majority of great reviews I think we just happened to have bad luck.

  6. No big deal, but I didn't see the Fisherman's platter listed on second formal night on our in suite dinner menu. Was there a Fisherman's platter in the MDR?

I don't think Hoopster95 dined in the MDR on formal night, so I can answer that - yes, the Fisherman's Platter (a lobster tail and some scrawny shrimp:p) were on the menu of the 2nd formal night.

Thanks for the review Hoopster. Doing a 7 day w. Caribbean next week on Navigator and was wondering if you think I'll have any problem making specialty rest. reservations onboard? I know I may have to be flexible with the time and/or day.

We made all of our reservations the day of, never any issue. As amazing as Sabors and Giovanni's Table were, they weren't as filled as I'd expect.

  7. I'm loving your photos of the ruins at Costa Maya, and will consider that tour the next time we visit there.

We had a wonderful excursion also, and I'm enjoying seeing the differences between them. We did the Native Choice tour - the Mayan Experience. We usually gravitate towards beaches when we visit the Caribbean, but are glad we had this experience.

Comparing our tour with yours: The Chacchoben ruins on our tour were a shorter drive (1 hr), giving us time to enjoy a visit to a Chacchoben Mayan Village where we made tortillas with the women, and shared a delicious lunch with them. However, from your photos, the ruins you saw were more spectacular than the Chacchoben ruins.

At the ruins you visited were there still areas that were unexcavated, as Aquahound mentioned? It was amazing to see how the forest had grown over the pyramids and structures, there was quite a lot of unexcavated sections at Chacchoben.

I hope you don't mind me popping in here to add my two cents. Obviously there is a nice variety of things to do in Costa Maya; others we chatted with also enjoyed the beaches or just hanging around the pier area.

  8. Yay, I found your review! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed meeting you guys, and thanks so much for the great company, especially at Giovanni's Table. Back to reality, making the beds, picking towels up off the floor, etc.😥

For whatever reason we didn't take tons of pictures, so we're enjoying yours.

I think I only noticed the accent with an 'eh' sound. Refreshing from all the 'y'alls' we heard all week 😄

  9. Misty, I enjoyed reading that comparison between Carnival and RCCL. Our experience was the opposite - we sailed on RCCL first and then Carnival. Since we have both the RCL Grandeur and Carnival Pride in Baltimore - an easy <2 hr drive, we wanted to like the Pride since the rates were significantly less. But we really missed the WOW factor that you can't quite put your finger on, and wouldn't choose Carnival over RCCL again.

Looking forward to meeting you on the Navigator in May, and am sure they will have worked out all the kinks by then. And hopefully - no fog!!!

  10. I had stuck my two cents here before the CC database crashed yesterday but my comment disappeared.

First of all, the search function hasn't been working consistently right for a while. I've searched a board or thread with exact wording of something I've seen and gotten no results.

I think the reason this question keeps being asked is that the answers seem so unsatisfying to those of us flying in. (For the record I haven't yet flown to Houston yet - but with my cruise OCD I've read everything I can find in preparation for our May Navigator cruise).

I compare HOU to Galveston to MCO to Port Canaveral. Almost exact distance and time of drive with no traffic (approx 45 miles/minutes).

At MCO, we stepped out of the terminal, walked to the car rental, and were on our way in 15 minutes. After spending the day last minute shopping, sightseeing, etc, we drove to the drop off point and immediately were shuttled to the ship 5 minutes away. All this for under $80 for an SUV. (Sedan was quite a bit less, but we had 4 adults that don't know the meaning of packing light :) )

In comparison, at HOU there are only 2 agencies that allow a one way dropoff. Avis is a $35-40 cab ride back to the port. Enterprise is on Galveston but closes at noon Saturday, useless for those sailing on Sunday or wanting return rental. There seems to be a huge surcharge to rent from the airport, which requires a shuttle anyway.

Most of the airport shuttle vans have 3 departure times, which we would just miss or have to wait for 2 hours. The cruise ship transfers go to IAH not HOU.

Our best bet seems to be a taxi or car service for approx $200 for 2 round trip. That's OK, but more than likely we won't sail from Galveston again. I guess there are enough Texans to fill the ships without us!

  11. qqwer123 -

That is a wonderful accomplishment - not only getting to your goal (whether it is the top or bottom of your range, it's a healthy range), but then continuing on to lose another 17 lbs on your own. Without a doubt, you are NOT a quitter!

When I got to WW lifetime in the late 1980s (between my 2 daughters) I insisted on getting down to the bottom of the range for my height - 122 lbs. Looking back at pictures of myself, I didn't look healthy anymore, I couldn't maintain that weight without continuing to diet - no maintenance for me:(, but then worse of all, even though on paper that weight was in my range, I had so little body fat that my cycle went haywire, and I couldn't get pregnant when I was trying for my 2nd child. It wasn't until I got back up to 130 that I felt normal again.

But I still had the feelings of weight loss 'failure' by not staying at that 'goal', which of course can spell disaster for the psychology of body image.

I was just writing that you also have to take into account that over the years your body shape, proportion, how you carry weight, etc can change, when you added your post verifying that. I am in a size 12 right now at 166 lbs at age 58, but that's the same size I was at 140 lbs at age 40:eek:. And that's not all about sizing changing in the fashion industry - I had a few favorites I kept in my closet that fit me now.

So no, I wouldn't call you a quitter! Definitely listen to your body. We find that since our cruises are the main time we pose for pictures, it's a great way to honestly see if we look the way we THINK we look...lol!

  12. What is 4 points? Sorry, I got lost.

    Congrats on the 45.

I wondered the same thing because I normally read Cruise Critic on either the CC or Tapatalk app on my tablet which doesn't show the titles of the posts, but I just re-read this on my computer - the title was 'Skinny Pop Popcorn'.

I'll have to try that. I usually have the Orville Redenbacher Smart Pop 94% fat free mini bag, which is 3 points, but I haven't really been satisfied with the taste. I've saw it at Sams Club the other day but didn't want to buy the huge bag in case I didn't like it, but will look for it in the smaller size. I'll have to portion it out ahead of time. I find that once I portion out a big bag of something into smaller bags I'm OK with eating one serving and not taking a second, but when I don't do that I don't have the same self-control faced with the whole bag intact. Sandwich and snack baggies are my friend!

  13. I would love to join in this group. I am doing WW via the Internet. I am struggling with the very s-l-o-w weight loss. I will blame it on age, menopause and hypothyroidism. I hate the fluctuations! One day I'm 2#s down and then the next day 3#s up. I'm an obsessive weigher. I weigh myself everyday. I know I should weigh myself once a week but I just need to see results some days to stay encouraged! I have set small goals. I am currently 3#s from my first goal. My overall goal is 40#s. I will be very happy if I can loose 10-15 before my cruise in April. I weigh in on Thursdays. I'm very good about entering what I eat in my WW app. My biggest challenge is eating out. We often have dinner out with friends and I gain 3-4#s if I eat out even when I TRY to be careful. So for now, I'm being unsocial:). I have to do what works for me.

Wow, I started reading this thread a few days ago and have been wanting to jump in, say hello and join you all on this journey, when I read this post which is just about what I was going to say about myself!

I reached WW lifetime in 1989 but have yo-yoed up and down, quitting and rejoining. 25 years later, I'm up 46 lbs - but being realistic I'll take the top of my healthy range rather than the bottom again. Since rejoining Jan 1 I'm down 5 lbs with 20 to go.

I decided to try WW Online rather than the monthly pass I had been (not) doing. I haven't found the 'community' I was looking for at WW Online, but this thread is just what I'm looking for! Being cruise-obsessed, I'm always on CC anyway :p.

I'm looking forward to sharing our ideas here. Night-time snacking is my downfall, and rather than fight it I think I really need to address it better - save some points for it and make better choices (than raiding the fridge)

  14. The Enterprise in Galveston closes at noon on Saturday and is closed all Sunday. Not exactly conducive for anybody coming in a day early, the day of, or wanting a return on Sunday. That seems like a lot of money slipping through their fingers compared to the cost of keeping the place open for a few more hours.

  15. Happy New Year greetings to all!!!!

I've SO fallen off the wagon for the past several months - anything good for me (exercise, food plan, getting plenty of sleep and water, etc) has not been a priority. Even the good advice from 'Anita' for taking it one step at a time didn't snap me out of it.

So, here I am on New Years Day, with the resolve IN MY HEAD for a new beginning (even knowing that New Years resolutions are mostly broken), but not in my heart.

But if I don't get out of my rut, I'll be miserable, so I want to reconnect with everything that gets me motivated; this board being one of them!

Anita, I'm going to piggyback on your new year energy and kick myself into high gear too! I have a bigger leap than you to get there (Congrats are in order for the niche you've carved out for yourself!!!), but I'm tired of not having that energy.

There's a pot of Hungry Girl 'growing oatmeal' on the stove, and I think my physical activity for today will be cleaning out my art room (currently serving as the 'junk room'). I think I'll move my wii game there and that will be my 'woman cave'! I use the wii for the dance and Zumba games ( I got the Zumba Core a few months ago, and really do like it). I also just downloaded YouTube to it, and created a playlist of Zumba videos that I like - it wasn't bad doing that, but I want to figure out how to select the order so I don't waste time between songs picking the next one out.

DH just started a new job where he has to work every other weekend, and I think that will end up being good for me...without him to snuggle with in the morning I'll get myself out to the Saturday and Sunday morning classes, and I can't use as an excuse that I'm ignoring him as I start to clean out my closets that also are an extension of my cluttered mind!

For seamare - sorry, I also couldn't make a recommendation. Even though I like the Wii game (I also have one of the Just Dance games and Zumba Fitness 2), I don't think it's as much fun as having a good DVD would be. What I DO like about them is that when I'm doing them regularly, it's a good way to track the time and calories spent.

I'm in my late 50's but don't think I'd enjoy a purely 'Gold' class. I guess as you're finding, there's a wide gamut of what level it's really taught at...we get the same thing at our gym where only the standard Zumba classes are given. Some instructors are high energy AND impact, some are more athletic, and few are as thoughtful as our OP here in creating a good balance. I'd rather modify the moves for my own limitations than feel like it's too slow.

Cheers to a Happy and Healthy New Year!

  16. Jan' date=' Since you have sailed with RCCL before...Do you think that Drew and I will look out of place if we dress for dinner each evening? It's just part of cruising for us and with "dumbing down" the MDR at Carnival we just decided that it was time to make a change....[/quote']

Sherrie, I often 'lurk' on the fashion boards, and am very familiar with your beautiful gowns and Drew's always 'spiffy' in a suit, tux or military uniform. You will not feel out of place on a Royal Caribbean cruise! Yes, like most mainstream cruiselines, there will be those who choose to not participate, but plenty still do.

And yes, many of the cruiselines, including RCCL, have had cutbacks over the years that have somewhat taken away from the experiences of the past. For myself, I'm FAR from being ready to jump ship from RCCL- each class of ship has such a WOW factor in its own right (not ONLY the megaships are amazing), and I think you'll enjoy many years of exploring them all.

The Radiance (sister to the Brilliance) got us hooked on cruising - it's elegant, comfortable and in touch with the sea - all at the same time!

  17. I've been SO off-track the last couple of months:mad:. Much of it was for good reasons - my oldest DD was married last month, and all the activities leading up to it. I was very disappointed with myself that when I bought the dress to wear to her wedding I said I'd feel more comfortable losing at least 5 lbs (at the time I bought it I was 10 lbs over the high normal BMI for my height), and instead GAINED 5!

Since we've been back, I began missing several of my regular Zumba classes, got even MORE off track with over-eating (I'm a nighttime binger) and have gotten to where I feel bleeech more often than not.

Taking away some of my motivation even more was when I noticed that my favorite Zumba leader Pauline was no longer on the updated schedule at the gym. I immediately FB messaged her. Good for her, but bad for us - now that her youngest has left for college she decided to go back to school to study Massage Therapy, and with working full-time SOMETHING had to give.

Her last class was Tuesday. It was SO much fun - a real celebration...all the favorites, great energy. We went for 1 1/4 hr (usually her class is 1 hr), and we were having so much fun we could have continued! Her class was on Tuesday, and I worked hard to never miss that one.

A couple of weeks ago when I was trying to get out of my funk and kept finding excuses to miss the gym I decided to at least do the Wii Zumba Fitness 2 game to get a workout. That's when I found out that DH had inadvertently thought the basket that held the belt for the game was part of the Goodwill pile! Rather than just buy a new belt, I had my eye on the Zumba Core game for the Wii, and figured that would be best to get since it comes with the belt. I managed to score a slightly used set on Ebay for $14!

So far I've used it a few times, and really like it. The choreography feels familiar and easy to follow but doesn't seem like it will be boring...and I really worked up a sweat with one of the 44 minute (medium length) workouts. They used Bob Marley's 'Jammin'' for the cool down song - I thought that was a brilliant choice!

Even with Pauline gone and it being dark when I usually head to the gym, I'm hoping to get my butt in gear. Changing my eating habits right now seems harder than the fitness part, especially with holidays coming up. The gym will be doing a 2 hr Zumbathon on Wednesday to raise money for the Red Cross for the Philipines. Funny how I can Zumba for free several times a week, but jump at the chance to pay money for a Zumbathon! But it's fun with several different instructors taking turns, and I actually won something at the last one...just as I was saying I never win anything at raffles.:)

As far as the shoes discussion - I had Nike Musiques (I forget which number...III?) for almost a year, and really liked them, but eventually the mat floors they have at one of the fitness rooms wore out the tread on the circle on the ball of the foot, and that became dangerous on slicker floors. My current shoes are Ryka Studio D's, and I really like them. They're light but I feel that they give me good support.

So now I think I rambled enough to make up for not posting here very often!

  18.

Brilliance of the Seas from Tampa.

I whole heartedly agree with this recommendation. The Radiance class ships are the perfect first experience for the enjoyment of the sea, which some of newer ships lose. They are small enough to get to know and explore easily and large enough to not be bored.

If for some crazy reason you don't LOVE cruising:eek::confused: you won't feel 'stuck' and if you DO love it, it's a great start of a life long addiction. :D

If so, as suggested, join the Crown and Anchor society on board, and get your next cruise certificate for reduced deposit and OBC.

  19. Plus you would think that before you began to criticize another instructor or post incorrect info about instructors like green cards and such, that you would have a little bit of manors.. .

WOW, Southern Girls Rock - maybe you should think about YOUR 'manors', or as we say further north....MANNERS.

Although I don't post on this thread often, I always read it, mainly because I love Zumba, 'Anita' has such a positive outlook, and really understands what Zumba is all about. I admire the thought and research she puts into everything she does, and I learn a lot from following this thread - both for Zumba and all-around health and life outlook.

SO, maybe you need to go back, re-read this thread, and if you're truly a Southern Girl you owe her an apology.

  20. That remix sounds like fun - but I haven't heard it yet in class.

For whatever reason, 2 of my 3 favorite instructors that I usually attend (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) have had subs that I don't really care for...although I have no qualms about modifying the routine to lower the impact, sometimes it's just too much thinking involved with some of the subs, so I've been skipping a lot of classes.

Although I didn't do it as much as I SAID I would - on some days I went home and plugged in the Wii Zumba Fitness 2 game that I haven't done since I started taking 'real' classes. What a getup I was in - the hip band with the Wii remote, and I decided to put the coin hip scarf over that, since I SWEAR that it has been helping me trim my midsection better! (Really, I've only lost 2 lbs this month, but several people I haven't seen during this month are asking if I've lost weight)

I scare the heck out of my cats - but it was a nice change of pace. The routines are so much easier to do now that I've done some in classes and it's just easier to pick up on choreography the more you do it.

Everyone have a good weekend! I'm heading to Washington DC to meet DD1 future in-laws for the first time!

  21. Its great to see more Delaware folks loving the Adventure!!! there were several of us two weeks ago doing a b2b and then on the second week a large group from Seaford on our plane home that loved the Adventure!!!

We are from Smyrna!!! Bonnie Voyager here on cc is from Newark...she has all the great cabin pictures!!!

I haven't even BEEN on the Adventure yet and I know I'm going to love it. We loved her sister the Explorer, and San Juan is one of our favorite ports, so what's not to love?

Being from Delaware I'm really excited that the rumors about the Quantum coming to Bayonne don't seem like rumors anymore... although there's something to be said for sailing out of San Juan and starting out with warm weather and a beautiful port.

We've been known to drive over to Kent Island to Hemingways to watch the Enchantment or Grandeur sail under the Bay Bridge - for a quick cruise obsession fix! The wait staff thinks we're nuts for sitting at dinner watching the marine traffic app on the phone and jumping up to take pictures:p

I've seen Bonnie Voyagers posts - love the pictures.

  22. AAaargh...I just wrote a post, clicked on a link on the preview to make sure it opened right, and then closed the tab on the browser with my loooong post I just spent 10 minutes typing.

ANYWAY, I was thanking Anita, Anita's mom, and everyone else who has pointing out good form, watching the knees and ankles, preventing injuries, etc. I've been paying close attention to this in both my instructors and participants and see a lot of potential for injury. Luckily most of my instructors are very controlled, and although I've never seen any of them correct anyone else's form, they mostly lead by example. There's one instructor that everyone in our gym LOVES, but I've always avoided her class since I feel she is too high energy, high impact, and everyone always tries to keep up with her even if they are all over the place. I've always modified jumping jacks and anything with both legs off the ground...I don't like bouncing and have always been protective of my ankles and knees. Because I want to be able to do this in many years from now....

She subbed for my class last Thursday. I still worked up a crazy sweat while doing some pretty dramatic modifying.

Speaking of knees....Burm...how is yours holding up after your Zumba class?

I LOVE San Francisco. I have only been there three times - late 70's to late 80's, but I have never felt so 'at home' anywhere. Such a great mix of beauty, quirkiness, weather, food, arts, people, crazy hills, etc. (Oh yeah...Burm, DEFINITELY wear good walking shoes!

Member123 - did you get your shoes yet, and if so what did you think? I've been wearing my new Ryka Studio D's for almost 2 weeks. The first time I thought they were amazing...comfortable right away, lightweight, well-balanced, etc. Since then I've noticed a bit of tightness in the toe, but I have that on every shoe I can remember. I bought the 9, and I wear an 8.5 in most shoes, so I don't think I need to go bigger - just a bit of breaking in.

FYI, I've been wearing a hip coin skirt to 1 class a week, and besides it being so much fun, just noticed a big change in my midriff. I've lost about 2 lbs this month 'mostly' doing Weight Watchers (have improved but not overcome my nighttime mindless eating), but this morning while getting dressed I even wondered if I would dare wear a 2 piece swimsuit for our cruise in 7 weeks. The Tuesday Zumba teacher started bringing in about 10 scarves, and about 3 of us have our own, and she makes it a lot of fun seeing who can jingle loudest!

  23. Am I the only one that has to take the seasick medicine once I'm off of the boat? I have never had any issues while at sea, but the week after I'm back on terra-firma I HAVE to take bonine or something as I am nauseous and wobbling non-stop. DW is just the opposite - bonine on the ship due to issues, but fine once on land. Just wondered if this happens to anyone else?

CKROBIN - thanks for your reply. Hope you have a fantastic time. Not the same as sailing myself, but this sure does help with the mid-winter blues until sail in late April! All my best~

Vince, it isn't that uncommon to lose your land legs after getting your sea legs! I have noticed that as I sail on newer and larger ships with great stabilizers (and have had great luck with calm seas) I experience post cruise wobbliness less frequently.

For CKRobyn, I'm joining you for your cruise (virtually) until it's our turn in 56 days!
