Some ships are trialing a "mid" dining time (fixed 6:30 or 6:45 dining). We had booked 7 PM MTD every night on the Oasis TA. The first night we were in line and a host was walking around asking if anyone wanted 6:45 fixed dining (same table, same waitstaff). I took the offer. Worked out well. I hope they offer the "mid" seating on my upcoming Symphony and Odyssey cruises. 🤞
Yes, I remember reading about that a few months ago. It’ll be interesting to see if the trials prove to be success and go fleet-wide.

"Overflow" Early seating now uses the MTD area, so that is why MTD doesn't start until 6:30-6:45.
You can go the the MTD dining area before 6:45 and ask if there are any open tables. YMMV.
If you don't want early, late, or 6:45-7, then what time do you want?
We have gone to request seating before 6:45, and feel like it’s a fight to be seated. We are very easy go with the flow kind of travelers, but the current MTD just stinks. So, to answer your question, we want to go when we feel like it, not when they try to pidgeon hole us into their schedule. Yes, first world problems for sure, but still an annoyance.

We’ve used My Time Dining exclusively since its inception many years ago. We used to be able to make a reservation for whatever time we preferred. Well, I’ve been on 4 cruises since last year, and have 4 cruises booked through next year. Our recent My Time Dining experiences have been awful. The earliest we can reserve is 6:45 or 7, and it feels like Their Time Dining. Does anyone know if this current MTD scheme will continue, or is there hope on the horizon for an improved system? Please do not tell me to book early or late seating. Neither of those times are acceptable to us.

I was recent able to make MTD reservation for my November cruise on Liberty, but unable to make reservations for our Symphony cruise in February. I’ll keep trying.

Thank you! So you boarded down by the Atrium and RBar?
Yes, that’s where we boarded.

Thank you for your replies. If we can’t access our cabins and grab our Seapass cards, do we just provide our cabin number to the bartenders for drinks before 1:00?
I was on Serenade last week. Prior to our cabin being ready at 1 pm, we didn’t have access to our sail cards. We just gave the bartender our cabin number to order our drinks.

I just was on Serenade last week, and we boarded onto Deck 4.

Happy to help.☺️🛳️

The earliest reservation time for MTD is 6 30. We just walked in between 5 30 and 6 pm and were seated immediately. We were on Serenade again last week and we had no issues going in to the dining room at those times. If you plan to use MTD anytime after 6 30, you should probably make a reservation.

We had My Time Dining on Serenade in April. We went into the dining room around 5:45 to 6 pm each night and were seated immediately. We will be on her again in 2 weeks, and expect to have no problems with being seated at similar times.

My DD and I are sailing on Independence in November. What is the cost of a total of 4 devices between us per day? TIA.

We’ll be sailing on Royal Caribbean, Odyssey OTS to Puerto Plata in February. Which pier will we dock at? TIA.

We have stayed at the DoubleTree Resort in Hollywood Beach several times and loved the location. It’s 20 minutes to Fort Lauderdale, and about 30 to South Beach Miami. Beautiful resort with a gorgeous pool on the intercostal, and across the street from the beach.

In case our situation happens to anyone else, I called Port of Tampa parking and spoke to a very helpful agent. We were told that even though we purchased parking for self-parking at Terminal 6, we can use that parking ticket at Terminal 3. So problem solved.

you will be hiking…..Is there anyway you can go back into your reservation and pay the small extra fee for valet? Worth every single penny to have your car out in front of the terminal and waiting for you!!!
Thank you for your recommendation. I will go into my reservation to see if it’s possible to change it to valet.

We are cruising out of Tampa in August. I pre-paid for self-parking at the Port. I have since learned that the lot we are using is at Terminal 6. Our ship is docked at Terminal 3. Is there a shuttle to take us, or will we be hiking? TIA for any information.

How far is it from the ship to the town? Is it walkable? Or should we get off the ship and hire a tour operator for a few hours? Would like to know what sights to see, and what others have to recommend. TIA.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.

We always, always, always book a cabin close to stairs and elevator, and have never had issues with noise. Ever.

Rent a mobility scooter for your cruise. You can very likely arrange to have it delivered to you at the port of embarkation.

Back in the early 90s when we started cruising, we were given a booklet with a complete passenger list. I think it was discontinued by the mid to late 90s.
Bacardi Rum Tour
in San Juan, PR
Posted
I’m interested in touring Bacardi Rum when we’re there in February on Symphony. So far, the cruise planner has not offered it as an excursion, and I’d consider buying admission tour tickets directly from Bacardi, but not until I know how far and how expensive it would be to get there. Does anyone have insight on this?
