  1. We were on the Liberty in May, same itiniary-- and we felt the exact same way. The other passengers were really rude!

I thought we had picked a bad week. Only ate in the buffet twice. Chaos. Just pushing in anywhere. Same at Guys burgers. Some going straight to the front just for fries. One woman in front of us let another 5 people in and they all wanted 2 burgers each. Would never ever sail out of Puerto Rico again. Lots of kids running wild too.

Saying that we loved the ship and the crew were first class, better than Cunard. Our wait staff in gold fixed dining were Ivan, Deny and Ozan and they made every night special. Our suite was great and the Steward excellent. Pleasantly surprised by the food too. We spent most of our time in Serenity, there are plenty of quiet places to get away from it all. Always sun loungers available too. Great ports.

All in all, great ship and crew, shame about 70% of passengers!

  2. We have just stayed 3 nights at Marriot Isla Verde. It's a really nice hotel. Some aircraft noise so a beachfront room is best. Not much around in the way of restaurants etc. Food in the hotel is mediocre. Comfy beds and nice bathroom:)

  3. As was said the ships used to keep ALL passports of non US citizens. They were returned the every last day but not before.

Our passports are put in our safe until the last morning when we get off the ship. WE have heard many times the CD saying "Never take your passport off the ship". Stolen passports can be sold for big $$$$.

That must be a long time ago. We have been cruising since 90s and not once have our Passports been retained.

  4. ? What does she could of statement of different way mean?

I was not even talking to the OP, again I was directing my statement to the person that stated the term "gluten allergy".

I'm sick of people on the gluten free band wagon!

Yes, the OP has celiac disease but most people in this country don't even know what gluten is and they say they have a gluten allergy! There is no such thing.

It's either celiac disease, wheat allergy or gluten sensitivity.

I wish we had a like button:)

  5. We returned from Liberty last week. Bear in mind 80% of the passengers were Puerto Ricans and are culturally loud so your room could be better than opposite a passenger cabin. We were in a suite and thought we had chosen carefully, not close to elevators etc. But we did not take into account the cabins opposite. Take some earplugs unless you don't go to sleep before 2am.:D

  6. We only use auto tip and only tip extra if service has been exceptional. This time on Liberty it was. Our Waiter and two assistants were great as was the room steward. I did give the cabin steward part of his tip after three days I was so pleased with our suite and little extras he did. Not really a bribe as I waited to see how he did.

  7. We bought alcohol ashore and never handed it in, no one bothered us. Just walked straight to the lifts with it after putting it through the machine. Some of it isn't worth buying and carrying around now it is as cheap in the UK with special offers. Although Teachers scotch whisky was a good deal at $12 per litre in St. Kitts sat week:)

  8. really over 1200 posts and you have never seen this same question 100's of times.

Yes, really and if you had really, really read everything, I explained why. If you want to split hairs most questions have been asked 100s of times. They are easy to miss, OK. There is search but I am an ordinary mortal with human failings:D

Thanks to everyone else for the helpful replies.:)
