  1. Symphony! I love the ship.

Nassau- there are safe and fun things you can do there. You do not have to stay on the ship If you dont want to stay on all week. I was there on 2 cruises during the past two months. Got off both times and did something I enjoyed both  times. Plus, I did not feel unsafe there. It's not like the issues that are being reported there aren't happening in other places all over the world. But, not saying folks should not make their own decisions. Just saying we did not feel unsafe there and that nothing bad happened to us there during our last two recent cruises.

Happy cruising. Enjoy whatever you choose. 🛳 🚢

From the site posted above, it does show that Quantum will be stopping in Cabo, which from my experience is the slower tender port.  Catalina is the other tender port, but they have much bigger tender boats so it seems to go quicker.

This may be a silly question, but people pay cruise fare to have Catalina island as a cruise port? I like Catalina Island, but I thought it was easy to get to and cheaper to get to than as a cruise port. But, I guess thats like people paying to have Port Canaveral as a port stop on some cruises.

Agree with all of the above. However, we are on the 2/17 sailing and there are double the kiddos of the 2/10 sailing. Pools and jacuzzis are packed and mostly filled with kids on deck 15 and 16. Thought they’d be somewhat contained to Surfside -  literally every pool with the exception of Hideaway and lesser on Cloud 17 are completely full. If you want quite peaceful - don’t go on this ship during holidays or summer. Oasis class ships didnt seem to feel this busy so just a warning. This sailing is more like a Disney cruise. This is a miss on Icon, they need more than one Adult area. But otherwise, amazing ship and so much to do!

Is this week considered a holiday week?

    Thanks for the update!

It’s nice, but not as nice as Terminal A at Port Miami. For what it’s worth, it’s a lot nicer than Terminal G at Port Miami, which RCI also uses.

Thanks. I watched a couple videos after the post. Yes, I definitely like A in Miami. It's so nice, easy to navigate, and a nice welcome for kicking off a cruise. T1 looks ok. Yes, I went out of one in Miami last December that seemed like it had been around a long time. I forget which one though. Thanks

  5. Hello All, I am considering a November sailing on Icon. I'm guessing the crew now is all excited with the new ship and were on a little while before the first sailing to get into the groove. The show performers had all their time.  Plus, the best crew from other ships were brought over to open the new ship. I'm a bit disappointed to miss the folks that are opening the ship.

Does anyone know how long contracts might be for the opening crew and entertainment staff? I'm wondering if around early fall, there will be a whole new set of crew on the ship getting in the flow of things. The cruise we are considering is scheduled for early November. I'm sure crew will always be great, but just wondering about the changeover time frame.

    Thanks

Pricing is currently quite (obscenely) high fleetwide - all the way through April 2026.😱

Yep. That's a great word for it. I'm trying to help an aunt plan a family cruise. I've cruised a lot more than everyone that wants to go. I'm looking at the prices saying, omg, I wouldn't even pay that for some of these itineraries so I certainly don't want to ask a whole family group to have to pay that price. I just sailed on Celebrity Ascent for less than some of these Royal ship prices. They are too inflated.

So both Wonder and Utopia are doing 3/4n out of PC... Same iteniary?

Wow that's a lot of capacity for the same short trips.

And a lot if revenue for them. Those short sailings on Utopia are priced pretty hefty. (Yes, I know it's a new ship.) I want to try Utopia but man, just 4 days seems like such a waste for that type of ship. I know folks say we can just book a B2B, but those sailings are so overpriced. So, I would be booking two overpriced short sailings just to get what should be one sailing anyway on an Oasis class ship. My thought is that they could let the older Oasis class ships change to short cruises and let the newer ships keep longer itineraries. Oh well. I know that has already been discussed on this site so I don't want to sidetrack my own thread.  My goal for this thread is to figure out when we can book the Wonder for a 7 night cruise for a family cruise in 2025. Looks like we should do that in June as soon as all the kids in the family finish school.

    Someone posted this.

Wonderful, thank you so much. I am looking at thr June dates. Oddly, there is a 7 day sailing on June 18 and a 7 day sailing on June 22. That math does not add up. They have two different itineraries, but the number of days between those dates isn't 7, hmmm. Am I reading those dates wrong?

Also, wish I could see more of thr itinerary information.

Thanks so much for posting! I appreciate your help.

The issue with Wonder is that it is likely doing a few more months of 7N’s until Star takes over at PC & then it will be doing 3/4 short cruises so it fits into multiple release categories. Check back next week.

Oh no, the Wonder will be doing 3 and 4 night cruises like the Utopia? Oh no. We are trying to plan a 7 night family cruise on the Wonder out of Florida in either June 2025 or during the holiday season of 2025.

  10. I am helping an aunt plan a family cruise for 2025. We are looking at Oasis class ships. I have been able to find some sailings for Oasis and for Symphony, but we're not able to find sailings for Wonder of the Seas for the latter part of 2025.  I did see the Wonder sailings up through late spring, but not the summer yet. A lot of you folks are in the know about these kinds of things.  😉 When do you think the latter half of 2025 will be released for Wonder?  Does anyone have any idea where she might be sailing during the summer or during the 2025 holiday season? It would work best for us if she is still sailing out of Florida. But I see that Royal has been moving their ships around to other departure points like the Symphony out of New Jersey and other ships out of Texas.  She wants to book June, Thanksgiving, or Christmas 2025 on the Wonder.

    Thanks so much!

I started this thread a year and a half ago and I am still hoping a dive bar pops up somewhere to replace Calico Jacks.  In the meantime, we have been to "Public Beach" many times and it is a lovely way to spend a day.  It can be crowded, but that is the nature of going on a cruise ship.  It is a cheap/safe group cab ride from the cruise tender port.  There are always plentiful cabs picking up at the beach to go back to the port.  There is always someone there to sell beer.  It used to be a guy with a cooler.  Now it is a bit more permanent.   If cruises are in port, there will be drinks available.   I will be back in GC in a couple of weeks am going to try Coral Beach for the first time.  But all the cab drivers know where to take you if you say "public beach".

    How was Coral beach?
