I'm sorry Carnival gurus. I know you answer these questions all the time, but when even Carnival staff has different answers to the same question, I have to throw up my hands.
We're sailing in April. Two rooms booked on ES rate. My DH is the lead in one room, booked ES but is retired military and eligible for Carnival military rates- and has sailed with military rates in the past.
Currently the price of his room is $799 PLUS a $50 SBC that was part of a military deal last month.
Today the price of the cruise dropped to $749. In the past, I was told that the credits were totally separate from the price drop.
Recently, though, this hasn't been the case. They've given the lower rate and taken the SBC back.
So, if I put in a price drop for the $50 price difference, should Carnival
A- Drop the price to $749 and leave the $50 attached to the room
or
B- Drop the price to $749 and take back the $50 SBC which basically is a wash and is not a price drop for us?
Thanks.

This has been a new thing lately. ( At least that I've noticed. ) I feel like Carnival is running all these odd promos with shipboard credits to avoid dropping cruise prices for those of us with ES rates.

I'm booked in an inside room on the Breeze over spring break....and this is after coming off the Disney Fantasy concierge level in August.
I think it'll be fine, we rarely even use the balcony, and I have a back to back concierge sailing on DCL again in October. The money had to come from somewhere.
I usually get my daughter and her friend their own inside, and I've always thought that they seem cozy and will be very nice and dark for sleeping. We'll soon find out.

I'm on the Dream in April and was just looking at excursion options. The sunset cruise looks like a good option, if my teens don't die of boredom.
-
I'm about to take the same adventure.
We've sailed on multiple lines, most often in balconies with our teens across the hall. This summer we sailed concierge class on the Disney Fantasy (about 4x the cost of our upcoming spring break cruise) and we're booked on 8 nights concierge on the Dream this coming fall.
I'm used to really nice rooms and amenities. However, for spring break, my daughter chose Carnival- the Breeze- and I booked us side by side insides on Deck 8. It'll definitely be different, but I hope OK. I rarely use the balcony either ( though I always use the concierge lounge ) so I figured I might as well save a little money where I could.
I hope we both have a great time.

If you need parking and are looking for a hotel that will include the parking then I would look closer to the airport, in the downtown area parking is much harder to find (included in the rates anyway). Also hotels near the airport that include the parking often will offer a shuttle to/from the cruise port as well.:)
Thanks so much! We aren't coming in early for beach activities, we live near Charleston, so we have enough of that at home. I'm looking for clean, safe, and convenient. Airport area is fine for us.

May I bump in on this thread?
We're sailing the Breeze, and driving down from SC. Where would you stay with a car?

$600!!!
Price drop from $949 PP to $799. Four people, two cabins. I'll take it!

I booked Spring Break on the Breeze earlier this month using ES. I was hoping for a price drop because I thought the prices were pretty steep - we usually stay in a balcony but to save money I booked insides on the 8th deck and still paid $949 per person!
Last night with the guest appreciation sale, the prices dropped to $849 so a nice $400 savings for two rooms. I've already submitted me price protection form- (and when did that form become so long?)
I doubt to be so lucky again but on our last SB cruise on the Dream I had price drops before final payment and sailed with a $600 SBC.

Thanks all for the opinions!
I will look at the smaller lines too.

Thanks so much!
I posted the same question on both boards and figured I'd compare answers. I don't think I can go wrong either way, but since I'm least familiar with these lines, I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

My Dh and I just got home from a meeting regarding my final DDs senior trip. 10 days in Greece. We'd planned on joining the group as chaperones. Well, after doing the math, and talking about how we'd spend all that money to hang around with a bunch of teenagers, we decided to pass. We're sending DD, and booking our own Med trip, I'm hoping Italy, Turkey, Greece.
Since it will be the two of us, I'm only considering two lines. Celebrity and Princess. We've sailed X once (in about 13 cruises) and loved it, but since cruises are usually our family trip, it's not been our first choice for the kids. We've never sailed Princess, though I've heard good things about it.
I'd love opinions. If both lines offer a similar itinerary, which would you choose and why? I'm guessing either one will be MUCH cheaper than we were going to pay for the 10 day tour. Thanks.
(info on us, married couple, , me 40s, DH early 50s- non smokers, well traveled, we like to cruise in comfort, our last cruise was Disney Fantasy concierge)

I'm currently booked on the Breeze with at an ES rate. The military rate for that cruise has just lowered to $30 less PP plus a $50 SBC. My husband is retired military and has sailed Carnival with military pricing in the past (he is eligible). Today I submitted a price protector form showing the price difference. Will he get just the $30 off per person, will he get a $50 SBC on the cabin, or will the $50 also come off the price of the cruise?
Thanks!

I've sailed CCL multiple times, every time with my daughter, who I allow to bring a friend. Today, I was given different advice than the past from a CCL booking agent.
In the past, I've been able to book two rooms and have correct names on the room. I'd book a room for myself and DH and book a room directly across the hall for DD and her friend.
This time, I was told that becaue DDs friend isn't my child, I had to book and adult in each room with a child. So, DDs friend with me and DH and DD in a room. OK, in a way that's a plus as I've considered the cheers program for DH and I'm not much of a drinker so it would have been a total waste of money for me. Now, since I'm in a different room, I only have to buy for him.
But, here's my question. Will I have a problem getting correct room keys when we board. The CCL rep said we could easily change once we boarded, but I don't want incorrect keys and incorrect names on keys. It's annoying and I'd like to have everyone named in the correct rooms.
Anyone?

Thanks for those deck 6 pictures.
We're sailing the Dream on April 7 and have a long balcony ( sideways room ) on deck 6.

Ikelite housings are very expensive. The usually cost more than the camera they're made for.
I have a dive camera set up ( Olympus with Ikelite housing and strobes ) and I don't know if I've sent in my camera warenty info, but I know I've sent in my Ikelite stuff...
I'm wondering if you could contact DAN insurance. They sell insurance for scuba and have policies to cover lost/damaged equipment.
I know I'd be putting in a claim if my camera stuff floated away.
Help a Princess newbie chose a ship?

Looking at a two week Hawaii itinerary. It seems that I can chose either the Star Princess or the Grand Princess.
I've never sailed Princess, but have sailed multiple cruises on Carnival, DCL, X, RCCL and NCL. It'll just be my husband and myself hoping to relax and enjoy Hawaii.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
