  1. The new norm now. Nickel and Dime you for everything. Doubt I will be back on a HAL or any cruise line soon. Sadly the new reality.
  2. Hello Community, our 80+ year old parents are boarding the Noordam in a few month to sail from New Zealand to Vancouver Canada. One of the requirements to even board the ship is to still show a COVID Test no older than 24 hours at embarkation. They are not very good with technology and so far HAL is just telling them to call their hotel (they are staying in Auckland 3 days prior boarding) and ask "Where is the closest COVID test station?". Obviously we live in 2023 now and those test stations are far an between, unlike in 2021 or early 2022 when you were able to find this service anywhere. Anyone here that lives in Auckland that can give us some pointers how to navigate around this to find them a test station? Any tips are appreciated as we want to ensure this embarkation is as painless as possible. They are 4 Star Mariners, so travelled a bit however this requirement gives them and us anxiety. Thank you PS: We are actually wondering how this will pan out if they for some reason test positive before the cruise. Stuck in Auckland....bye bye ship....
  3. Thank you - G4088 is not one of the pull out couches like they have in a Veranda Suite (we have been in one) So I am looking for anyone that has slept on one of those "Non Pull Out Beds"
  4. I searched Google and all forums, but cannot find any actual (for me) real confirmation what the sofa bed in a Vista Class (Noorddam) Outside Cabin G (G4088 to be precise) looks like. We are 3 people, 2 adults and 1 ten year old. Due to some circumstances I have to sleep on the sofa bed and the 2 ladies get the real beds. 5 nights In some of the pictures I found it looks decent, but then in other pictures the sofa bed looks super small. In a Veranda it is a full pull out, but in a Outside Categorie G it is not a pull out. Rather a sofa that functions as a bed. Anyone here that has shared a Categorie G cabin on the Noordam / Vista Ship where the couch functioned as 3rd bed and it is comfy or rather not recommended. A Veranda room would cost us $600 more, so trying to weigh my options here and if sleeping on the sofa is worth saving $600. Any help is deeply appreciated as we have to book soon. Thank you in advance!
