  1. I intensely dislike those people who get their pleasure out of proving to others that they got a better deal than the person they are talking to.

As a result, I always reply to anyone who brags about their good deal with the words:

    "Really, you paid that much?"

When they then ask how much I paid, I always decline to say on the basis that I don't want them to feel that they did not get a good deal.:D

    I do exactly the same,:):)

  2. We walked there and back, took a route from google maps and didn't follow it,started going into some real rough areas,I had studied the maps on line and made our way up it was well worth it,when we came back we went via the shops it was a sunday so they were shut (well pleased ) all in all a good experience :):)

  3. Another place to look at is the Carrefor supermarket half way up Las Ramblas,go down stairs its like a rabbit warren, also the shopping centre at the port vei its near the bus drop off point,or catch the green ho ho there is a massive shopping mall on its route diagonal centre i belive,or just look around the back streets of the gotic quater :):)

  4. Naples is a very intresting city,it is also very noisy and busy not to mention tatty but still worth exploring,we visted the royal palace which is a short stroll from the pier on our last vist and it was fantastic ,:):)

As a 1st time vistor i would look at going to Herculaneum by train or the isle of Capri by boat

  5. As long as the weather is fine a walk along the prom is very pleasent,it goes on for miles, the pier has a cafe at the end we went in febuary and it was open, there are also a lot of shops below the prom, you have to walk up steps to get onto the prom,at one end there is also a marina and nearby some crazy golf courses,

Blackenberg is known as Belgiums Blackpool,if its raining go to Brugges

We have enjoyed our vists even seen snow on the beach

  6. I'm wondering if the change to a chain was after 2011. Oh well, I had been looking forward to their lamb shanks but will probably have to find somewhere else to eat. We'll be at the Historic Shipyard most of our time in Portsmouth, but can venture out some for dinner.

enjoy the new Mary rose museum, try the pub in gunwharf or even the Ship ansom which is close to the dockyard :):)

  7. we tend to use brassiere blanc in Gunwharf, when we eat there, but there are more restaurants than you can shake a stick at,as for the Spice Island never eaten there but a change off chef can alter the food, also the chain pubs tend to get a set menu to use,if you can look at Southsea, as there are loads of independent restaurants there rather than chains :)

  8. last sept we caught the local bus 1.80 euros each,it was packed with more standing than seated.there is a conductor on board who collects the fares but have change,After our vist we wandered down the road and had lunch by the water side and caught the bus back which left from car park, the restaurant was just along the path under the cliff, the bus going back was busy, but seeing as we caught at the start we got seats we were docked from 07.00 to 20.00 so time wasnt a problem,it was well worth the visit
