I have access to a site that tracks price changes. I don't see a 30% price drop, It started Aug 2017 at 11.5 (cat H) and is now 11.9. Is there any chance that your "new" fare does not include air? Air saving is 2700.

Glad to read you are that much closer to Explorer!
Would you mind telling me your parking arrangements in Vancouver?

On some lines, segmenters are not viewed positively, either by the cruiseline or world cruisers. How about on Regent?
-
Can anyone comment on Regent's use of KLM? This would have been our preferred deviation flight, but they denied any affiliation with KLM, even if we paid fees. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
-
This year we discovered a big financial incentive in favour of Regent. Regent bills in Canadian dollars - so no foreign exchange on the credit card. And Regent is also marketing Canadian dollars at par on some (quite a few, actually) cruises. Together that saves almost 30% on cruise fares for those north of 49. Crystal has never come close to this marketing concept.
Not quite the "included" aspect the OP meant, but a big plus when comparing these 2 excellent lines.

Here are some news articles on the status at the shipyard:
Thanks Rhonda, for very interesting articles. You have been following the situation more closely than I have. Were you booked on Eclipse? (We cruised together in 2011, to Auckland)
-
For interest:
Quark has cancelled upcoming cruises on their newest ship, again due to it not being ready ontime. It appears they are only refunding cruise fare; not
airfare/hotel costs. No mention of TA commissions or future cruise coupon.

Would be interesting to hear if it is the same shipyard.
-
Simply for reference:
Scenic Eclipse also cancelled all cruises for the next 5 months because "problems in the shipyard" delayed her completion. Cancellation notice in early July; first cruise about mid/late August. They gave full refunds of the cruise fare, they paid the TAs their commission, they reimbursed the non-refundable portions of airfare/hotels, and they offered a 25% coupon on a future cruise. Still posters on the thread feel this is inadequate.

- cancellation info starting at bottom of page 5
Did the Quark ship have a name yet? I would be interested to hear where the Quark ship was being built. The same shipyard, per chance?

Wish we had a way to correspond privately.
We too fly out of a Canadian city. I use the Matrix site to have an intelligent conversation with our TA, and she uses her magic with a Canadian consolidator vendor to book our preferred flights. She often offers better routing, and always cheaper. (I was budgetting $7500 pp each for our last Bus class flights, and she arranged our exact flights for a total less than $7500 for both).
It is tough for Canadians - we have limited air choices and pay significantly higher fares. So I wish we could share arrangements that are beneficial. At this point, I can simply say shop around, don't be afraid to ask other pax for referrals, and know that there are highly valued TAs out there.

regent choice under same tab as free excursions
Thx.

...
We use OBC's for the Regent Choice excursions. We pay for them in advance and once onboard, cancel and rebook using OBC's (and get a refund in cash rather than a credit card because that is their policy).
Hi Travelcat
Can you tell me how to find the Regent Choice excursions for a cruise? I see the tab for free excursions, for pre- and post-cruise, and for special offers. But I don't see the "non-free" ones.
Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a response from the Scenic Team that the travel agents will receive compensation as part of the other reasonable costs. Passengers are not the only ones who have been harmed.

Thanks Peregrina. Thanks for the prompt reply too. Glad you agree they made it hard to find. They also don't have a decent cruise calendar, which makes navigating their site difficult.

Viking has a promotion - free air from 7 Canadian cities. I've searched the site to no avail. Can anyone tell me the names of the 7? Thanks in advance.

... Our suite is on the port side. ...
There's a little RED PORT LEFT in the bottle.
Ah ha! Then the deckplan on Crystal's website is incorrect. (Someone please confirm or correct me)

I thought convention said even numbered staterooms were portside.

We appreciate the time you've stolen from your trip to keep all of us informed. Now relax and enjoy! Although I'd love a photo of Bach's Reflections (I assume they have one).
A question - is 320 port or starboard? I was trying to match it up to the deckplan, and something doesn't match. http://legacy.crystalcruises.com/DeckPlans.aspx?SID=8&SD=3
All the best to both of you. Look forward to cruising again with you both soon.

... Must be all suites with min 275 sq ft not including veranda.
I'm curious. What does a stateroom/cabin need to become a suite? For me, there has to be a delineation (wall?) between bed and sitting areas. But the new Scenic Eclipse fails here. Thoughts?

Who was it that posted August 9 on the Crystal page that they had just booked the transatlantic? That post seems to have hit the ether!
not Reducing prices as far as I can tell

There is a website that tracks prices for each cruise, from the date it was announced, to current pricing.
The Dec 8 2020 cruise started at 15799 in a PHB and April 1 2020 its price was 16799. With 6000 alotted for air
The Dec 7 2021 cruise started at 18799 when it was announced last August, with no changes to date. Again 6000 for air.
So I don't see that big difference in pricing you found. Are you sure air is not the reason for the difference?
