Has anyone been in an aft cabin on deck 9 on the Viva? I just booked it but now see that it is directly above an outdoor bar!
-
No, I bought it, mainly to cut the time I will spend on lines, for back and knees.

Hi! My assigned boarding time is 1:00. I just purchased The Key and am wondering if that will push my boarding time up.

Hello everyone, I have been searching to find a schedule of the shows on Odyssey Of the Seas, so that I can plan dinners around them. Are show schedules available? And can you reserve them prior to boarding? Thanks, in advance.

I will be following you every day! Will be on her in January!

Good to know that no one else got sick. Could have been from hours in airport or airplane. Thanks for replies.

I have been back from Anchorage to Vancouver cruise, August 11-18th on the Star. Came down ill on August 19th and have been diagnosed with Norovirus. Wondering if any other passengers have had similiar experience.

On our Feb 3rd cruise, people who had excursions with NCL got to go in the first tenders. We did not have an NCL excursion and were not able to get into a tender until after 9:30, although we were ready to go at 8.

Starboard side is the right side of the ship when facing forward. Yes, they do still go past (as of Feb 2018) and you can see that there is lava moving but you need binoculars to get a good view.
The shows are usually at 8 pm. We had 6:30 dining times and made it to all shows easilly.

Oahu, hands down. Many beautiful beaches besides crowded Waikiki.
Rent a car and drive up the east coast.

You will not even find a pound of 10% kona coffee for $6. Most bags that are for sale are measured in ounces, 10 ounces, 12 ounces. ABC stores are everywhere and they have it. It was $24 for those bags of 100% a few weeks ago.

We attempted to use in in Kauai. It was great while it lasted! Gps knows exactly where you are. Points out all interesting spots. Problem was that the usb port in our rental car did not work! Our phone battery died! Make sure usb port is working before you drive off and you will enjoy the app.

The Napali Coast is viewed from the port side. Spectacular! The lava coming down the volcano when traveling between Hilo and Kona can be seen from the starboard side. (At 10:45 pm on our cruise last month). You can see that something is happening but not much more. Many people were lining the decks for both events. So it is up to you, which one you would prefer seeing from your balcony.

It was Monday and Wednesday on our cruise two weeks ago.

Yes, we had Any Time Dining. We went to hostess on the first afternoon and were told that the only time we could expect to sit at tables near eachother was at 5:30. We had one person (me) go to the spot on deck 5 (just past photo area) at 5:10-5:15 and get on line. Got a ticket for our 25 seats. Hurried down to deck 4 where everyone was waiting for me (sometimes in a huge crowd of people). But, I must say, they opened the doors at exactly 5:30. We always got in almost immediately. We had two large tables and one smaller table right next to eachother. We were able to get the same wait staff each night. The only hastle was having to get on line at a different location and then rush down to the dining room. They should have had it all in the same location.

Thank you so much for your review and pictures of the ship! Just got off the Vista and was worried that Carnival had changed the variety of offerings in the Marketplace fleetwide. Very happy to hear and see that the Magic still has a variety of selections. Earger to read more!
-
One more thing! Room service in the morning was very sporadic! I, personally, ordered coffee on the door sign for every morning and it was only delivered 3 times. Others in my party had the same complaint.

25 of us went on the Vista for a family cruise that included 5 birthdays. 14 of have previously sailed with Carnival on between 2 and 6 cruises. The Vista was not anyone's favorite. We all preferred the smaller ships, all classes. If you choose to read on, I will begin with the good, then follow with the disappointments.
As usual, the Carnival staff can't be beat! From Matt Mitchum, the cruise director, to the di ing room staff, the room stewards, and everyone you passed by during the day, Carnival employees are always friendly and welcoming. (More than I can say for RCCI)
The prominade deck (5) was wonderful, with ample, comfortable seating always. The Private Havanna area looked beautiful, from a distance! It was decorated plushly Caribbean, had its own pool and hot tub.
The cabins and bathrooms seem to be larger than usual, both balcony and inside.
The homemade ice cream was a treat each day, and the home brewed beer on the interior of deck 5 was excellent.
The IMAX theater was amazing and they had 4 different showing each day, 2 movies, 2 shorter films.
Guys Pig and Ancher was good.
The bartenders in the casino, the Alchemy Bar and the Red Frog Pub, inside on deck 5, were excellent.
On the other hand:
The location of the casino is ridiculous. You have to walk through the smoke filled casino in order to get to or from the teen club! The always open entryway to the casino in right below the open atrium to deck 5, and the smoke drifts up into that area.
The Marketplace Buffet is large because it has many tables. Very little food area! And very little choice of foods! On all other Carnival ships, there is akways a wide selection of foods, salads, desserts. Not on the Vista! We were shocked at how scaled back the buffet was.
The white tile floor in the Marketplace is very slippery. It doesn't natter what shoes you are wearing, sneakers, sandals, flip flops, you have to be very careful walking!
The bartenders on deck 10, Tides Bar and Red Frog Pub, were terrible! They did not take drinks in order, sometimes served a drink other than the one ordered, and took a very long time serving. There were no staff walking around the Liso deck taking orders, as usual. You had to go to the bar each time you wanted a drink, and then wait for poor service.
The shows were spectacular, in costume, but mediocre, at best. Not as good as on smaller ships. Flic, in particular, had a long, boring introduction that turned many audiences off so badly that they left before the actual show. (Which was good)
I have a cruise booked on the Magic in two months and hope that it is as great as all of my previous Carnival cruises.

Just got off Vista. The main movies that were playing in IMAX were Star Wars, La La Land and two others that I can't recall.
-
Just got off the Vista and went to the three main shows. Found that seating was best in the upper level (unless you want to be in the first few rows on lower level), at the ends of the aisles. There are large, wide metal poles (?) that obstruct the view of many seats. We always had 8 people going to the shows and had 4 of us hold seats on the very end of 4 rows. Never had a problem. Beware: they have a really wierd introduction to the Flic show. So wierd that several people walked out before the actual show began.

Going on Vista this Sunday. Do you have any idea of what movies are playing in IMAX? Did you do the Thrill Theater?
-
Thank you Jinx

Going on the Vista next week. Dying to know what movies will be playing in IMAX theater. Does anyone know how to find out in advance?

Hi, Do you know if it is possible to find out which movies will be playing in Imax theater before the cruise?
