Fort Lauderdale/Disembarkation
Is it all ready over? Noooo ....I don't want to get off.
Our plane is leaving late so I do a post excursion with transfer to the airport.
We go to Flamingo Gardens and Port Everglade to look for gators. The Flamingo Gardens is a guided tram tour through the park. So pretty and green with so many different plants. A botanical paradise. We see the Flamingos up close and all the peacocks are showing off their feathers.
On to the boat ride through the everglades. I feel like I'm on Swamp people but it's so fun. As he takes us through the waterways he calls out the gators like he is the "alligator whisperer" and they come out of the marsh up to the boat. After that there is an alligator show which is really more informational. No alligator wresting or anything and you get a photo on the way out. I recommend this excursion, it was really fun.
On to the airport and long flight back to L.A. dreaming where I will go next.
If anyone has questions or needs to see a Princess Patter let me know which one and I will post it.
We were on the Regal last March and were scheduled to do the same excursion in Ft.Lauderdale upon disembarkation. It sounded wonderful, and fun! Unfortunately, one of our group took ill and we had to cancel. Were all disappointed that we missed seeing the flamingos. Oh well, maybe next time.

Coming soon to the forum...
"I refuse to sail NCL because they don't have Coke." will be replaced by "I refuse to sail NCL because they don't have straws.".
LOL! That will work out...if they don’t have Coke, they won’t need a straw!!

I enjoyed your review and photos very much! Alaska is our dream trip! We always said we’d do it for our 20th Anniversary. This November we’ll be married for 33 years. I think we’re a bit behind. Hmmm..maybe 2020 for our 35th Anniversary?! Thanks again for all the information!

Got a nice set from IKEA at a very reasonable price! I used them on my cruise and it helped stay organized! Also use them camping! Two thumbs up from me!

Her dad opened it and threw out the envelope.
Uhhh...why is her dad opening her mail and throwing away evidence?! [emoji15]

What a wonderful story! When it’s meant to be, it will be...even in the middle of an ocean!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites on 17th, as well. Paid for the shuttle from airport and to port. Great breakfast and loved that there was shopping within walking distance. Was able to get our juice, pop, snacks and wine at the Publix!

We went on a Princess cruise last year and there were quite a few folks with ink! My cousin has numerous tats and I’m 60 with two tats...never felt out of place or conspicuous! Have fun!

Oh my goodness! Good for you with getting all the extra perks! It does pay to keep reading and checking! Sorry your journey to FLL was so long and tiring...but you made it! That’s most important! Bon Voyage!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites on 17th. A short walk across a parking lot to Publix and Total Wine and More. Also enjoyed a tasty buffet breakfast.

Thanks cindsue, $.0575 per bottle is cheaper, I was referring though that off ship minimum cost per bottle anywhere is going to be $2 USD or more likely 2 euro each. Many times too, they only sell the larger bottles and it's even more expensive plus bulky to carry.
Good point! We decided to do the pre-paid water this cruise. For convenience (not wanting to lug it onboard ourselves)!

We were on a 14 day Mediterranean cruise on the Royal, July of 2016 with extensive shore excursions. We brought with us thermal water holders (should strap style) and I pre-ordered 4 cases of (12), which was delivered one at a time, and you could call down and ask them to deliver whenever you needed it. We stored as much as possible in our room's refrigerator, thus we could take one or two bottles with us on each excursion, otherwise ashore you'd pay the equivalent of $3US or more per bottle. A case of 12 is $6.90, that's less than $2 per bottle. We toured Pompeii, Ephesus, and things like that when it was over 80 degrees and sunny. That water came in handy. Also, you never know if water will be available for purchase and once in the countries our hotels and/or guides would say never buy it off the street, it may be from someone's home water tap, or a re-used bottle.
Actually a case of 12 bottles in a case @ $6.90 per case = $0.575 per bottle!

Don't laugh but it'll be Cheesecake Factory. For some reason I crave their meatloaf when traveling.. and a piece of Red Velvet Cheesecake to go eaten at 2:00am after several ( lots! ) of Margaritas!

Oh my! Their Red Velvet Cheesecake is to die for!
