  1. Thank you so much.  You are really helping those of us on the April 3 cruise.  I will definitely post some of our adventures.  We have quite a few of the same things planned - but differences, too.  We have a Good will Guide  for Ritsurin Gardens and our day in Takamatsu.Did you use any Good Will Guides?

  2. We are on the 3rd.  Nothing showing….but, I know all will be ok when I board.  We called and tried to book a tour and cancel 2 and they said can’t til onboard.  Hope they don’t hold us to the cancel 48 hours in advance policy.  Plus we were told that as far as they know, the rate for tours will be higher onboard vs. booking online in advance.  Seriously?  I need to practice my yoga breathing!

  3. Thank you that is why I am asking them specifically what happened the day they boarded.  Our last cruise said suites at 1:30 but we were only able to get a 2:30 check in time.  Turns out Barcelona did not open to anyone until 2:30. I was only able to get 2:30 this time also……so I don’t want to split the difference if I can check in at 1:30 and have to take a Covid test.  I would rather not get stuck in the mess of testing last week.
    thanks

  4. I also have another question. What time did they open up for Check in when you boarded the ship? Some are saying that suite guests  can check in at 1:30 and others are saying that check-in did not open up until 230. Do you know?

  5. If I was not leaving in less than a week it would be easy to take a step back and wait.  So many of you have been receiving emails from Azamara communicating the changes- I have not.  Several changes and updates were made regarding Covid testing for our Japan cruise.  I have not received them and my agent did not receive them.  ( yes, she is very good and very qualified)  Someone passed on what they received from Azamara and supposedly it is not correct anyway.  I like to know that all my  I ‘s are dotted and my T’s are crossed before I leave for a trip.  I would like to have questions answered and tours booked/ canceled.  I would like to know I am flying 20 hours to get to my cruise and will board the ship with no issues and all I need to do is unpack my bag.  But that is not the case.  I am not worried about my points, cruises months away etc.

  6. So frustrating especially for those of us sailing within the next week or two.  Tried calling reservations and after holding for over an hour I opted to try the new callback service.  I was halfway through putting in my phone number and the system disconnected me.  Azamara’s prices keep getting higher…..but customer service just gets worse.

  7. Thank you so much for the information.

we are flying United.  Connecting in Chicago to Haneda.  We will arrive the day before.  The first day is a sea day so it will definitely be a catch up on sleep / time zone change day.

  8. Looks like they need more time than anticipated.  No changes / modifications to reservations or booking / canceling tours until March 27.  (That’s what the pop up says now). We shall see.

  9. Thank you.  I called customer service when the system was down because we also have final payment due on another cruise.  They were the ones that advised me they could not help with anything onboard.    I am trying to cancel two tours and book one.  It is funny, the first thing they said was since I booked through an agent I have to go through them. My agent has no access to tours.

  10. Thanks- Spam/Junk was the first thing I checked.  I have received no emails from Azamara in over a month.  Quite surprising since there have been some updates regarding our Japan cruise.

  11. Thank you for your help wit this - tried that and it worked.  No cruises are showing.  Unfortunately - can't sign in to upcoming cruise to finalize anything onboard.

  12. I have tried three times and have not received an email. But then again, I have not received any email with any details from Azamara.  I am on hold with their technical support to see if they can help me. So glad you all are able to sign in.  Wish I could.  Our cruise leaves on April 3 but we are leaving in one week. So,  lots to do before we leave town and want to get our tours and anything on board finalized before we leave. We have been waiting for so long to go on the Japan cruise but it just seems to be filled with hurdles!

  13. The website is now up.  It asks for me to create a new account.  I did....I get the response that I will receive an email to verify and complete authentication.  No email.  It says if you do not receive an email to try again ...I did.  Still nothing.  It would not matter to me if our sailing was months away, but I would like to get everything finalized since we leave in 1 week.

  14. Still no email from Azamara.  We have a trip coming up the first week of April and another booking that has final payment due tomorrow.  Our agent tried yesterday with no success.  So frustrating.

  15. At least you all received an email.  Nothing here! Hoping it comes up soon. Can’t do anything for our April 3rd cruise ( change tours etc) until the site is up again.

  16. I received some great tour information from a very frequent Azamara cruiser that sailed on this itinerary pre Covid.  Most of the guides she used are no longer guiding since there was such a long period without tourism.  We are very excited that this cruise is finally here.  We were booked in 20/21 and 22.  Was nervous when Celebrity canceled their March/ April cruises……but, we are a go!

  17. We will be boarding on April 3.  Thank you to the group in front of us for posting great information.  The testing is bizarre.  Not required to enter Japan but required to board the ship.  Regent and Princess specifically say you can self test with a time stamped photo.  Azamara’s site does not say that.  So, we will take a PCR 72 hours in advance and receive a certificate.  We will also bring a self test with us. We will show both.    It might change by the time we board….Japan just opened up to foreign cruise ships on March 1st.  When I first started planning it was a struggle to find guides.  Now it seems things are opening up a bit.  What I have found interesting ( and challenging) is if you hire a guide, they cannot take you in a private car.  You have to either charter a taxi for the day  ( very expensive on top of guide fees), take a taxi from point to point  or take public transportation.
I will be happy post along the way.  Just filled out my Visit Japan web documents today.

  18. When they changed the point structure quite a few years back, we actually lost status.  The majority of our cruises are on Azamara so I am hoping that woild not happen again.  But, what she told you goes against everything they have sent out saying that we would keep what we earned on both Azamara and Celebrity.

  19. We were on the quest over the summer. The food was excellent, the service was also excellent, but I agree with the poster of the video, the front desk staff was horrible. We were in a suite and are discoverer plus. The benefits are now combinable where they were not previously. They told us we were only entitled to one bag of laundry and X number of Internet minutes. The front desk manager and agents kept telling us we were wrong. I pulled it up on my iPad and took a snapshot of the Azamara web page. I took it to them and they said it was wrong. The benefits were also listed in the book in the cabin and I brought the entire book down to them and they also said the book was wrong. Seriously? We finally had to go to the hotel manager who was able to resolve the issue. I just don’t understand if you bring them proof from their own webpage and from the book inside the cabin, why do they tell you that you’re wrong and expect you to just walk away.  We had a similar issue, when cruising first started again, and we took a cruise in February last year.  We expected that it would be resolved by the end of the summer. It was not.
