  1. Royal's Revenue Department handles upsell offers. I don't know how upsells work on NCL, but on Royal, the upsell offers are normally initiated by the cruise line, not by the customer.

Thanks, this is what i assumed but wanted to check.

NCL has an upsell department you can call a couple weeks out from sailing and they will make you offers, usually much cheaper than published rates.

  2. What exactly are you looking for? Upgrades to your vacation?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Would consider paying extra to upgrade but not at the current rates.

Being 2 weeks from sailing i figured they would be looking to fill higher end cabins.

  3. this was from Fort Lauderdale to the Port. That was with a $10 code I received from a REFER a Friend program Anyone can use I can send you one. We used my phone app and then my husbands for the ride back We deisembarked at 730 and was at the airport by 815 we had a 1145 flight It was so easy

To which port? Port Everglades or Port of Miami? That is what the previous poster was trying to clarify. Most of the posts in here are looking for transportation from FLL airport to the Port of Miami.

  4. I had the same choice to make for June, but since i was already sailing the Sky in November(and i had already sailed her last november) and my dad(who im sailing with in June) has no interest in an all inclusive we decided on the Enchantment. I think you would be happy with either. I sailed the sky in November and didnt really have any complaints.

  5. There are very few situations where someone would want to purchase it, hence the price it's at. they are offering it as a perk on almost all sailings, the high price is to increase the 18% charge on those "perks". I can almost guarantee if they removed the UBP packages from the free at sea that they would have to bring down the price to fall in line with other cruise lines. until that happens i assume the high price will stay!

but the fact is they are offering the perk on almost all sailings.

  6. I called in today and was stonewalled. No credit, no included tips, no cabin upgrades, no excursions, no speciality dinners. Just offered a refund which would I love to do and give my business to another cruise line, but we have flights already booked. It will be my first and last with NCL unfortunately for them. Just the fact that they are still advertising this voyage as still going to GSC is ridiculous, they should at least be up front about it...

So book a different cruise line, there are at least 2 other ships sailing the same # of days from the same date. The carnival Fantasy will also have a sea day as it never stops at a private island, but the Enchantment of the Seas will stop at Coco Cay(literally right next to GSC).

Flights would have no effect if you change to one of these ships.

i would also note that i would never base a trip on visiting one of these cruise line private islands. Because it is a tender port(no dock) it is often missed due to high winds or rough seas. there are countless reviews on here of folks missing the stop.

  8. If we want to get day passes for Vibe for the two sea days, do we still have to rush to the line on embarkation day? Or can we just go to Guest Services and buy these the day of?

if they sell out of week passes there wouldn't even be day passes. I'm pretty sure every sailing sells out of week passes.

  9. It's not horrible. I just don't appreciate being treated in this way. I have already lost my original cruise date. Had to ask for additional time off from work and make everything work out for a November sailing with the same itinerary. For them to go behind my back and take off a port of call is absolutely unacceptable. It is one thing to cancel a port of call due to weather but you don't cancel ports seven months out due to weather.. It its not a system glitch then its a business decision.

It's possible a charter is using GSC that day. I've heard of this happening in the past. While i can sympathize with your frustration(especially after getting bumped) things like this do happen. The good news is you have some time before your sailing. RCCL recently had to cancel sailings twice now on the Empress only days/weeks before the sailings. I can only imagine that disappointment.

I personally love sea days, so try to enjoy!

  10. What time can I drop off my luggage at the Miami Pier? Our flight gets in pretty early and I don't want to haul luggage around all over the place :) Thanks for your hep

What time does it get in? I generally get to the terminal around 10AM, boarding will generally begin by 11:30 and almost always by Noon.

  11. They begin showing it a few days before the 90 day threshold. Don't worry, if you go on at 90 days out, you will be able to book.

I actually went online at 12:01 a.m. just to be sure I got two passes, but don't think that is really necessary.

    Thanks. That's what i figured.

I actually read that it opens for suite guests 100 days out on another thread so that may be why it showed up today.

  12. So I'm 100 days out from sailing the escape, i've been expecting the Thermal Suite to open for booking at 90 days.

Just to be safe over the past few days I go in and check just in case its available. So today to my surprise it is now showing under the spa section of the "Explore and Plan" page of my booking. It wasnt there yesterday so couldnt have been up too long.

However, when i go into it, it tells me that it is no longer available. has anyone experienced this? Did they just load it on the site and just not make it available yet? Or is it really sold out already?

  13. Our ship departs at 5:00 PM in Miami and our flight lands at 2:00 PM. (Norwegian Sky) We're cutting it far too close for comfort. All documents state that we should be on the ship 2 hours before departure. We won't have checked bags, just carry ons. If the plane arrives on time we should be fine but the slightest delay is, well, bad news.

Is 3:00 PM the latest they will let us on the ship? Is there flexibility or is this due to safety/regs?

    Thanks.

This would be far too late for my comfort. I get nervous when i have to fly in the morning of a cruise even if it gets in at 10 or 11 AM.

Do you have a non-stop flight? if not your just adding to the risk.

If i were you I would book an earlier flight or look at coming in a day early.

    -Matt

  14. The documents say "9914 - AFT DECK 9".. This is our first cruise and I'm not familiar with ship terms at all. Is the balcony view going to be of just the ship or will you be able to see the actual ocean?

Thank you for your encouraging words.

I wouldn't be concerned about movement. My only concern with this location is the fact that you said you booked a spa pass. Nothing horrible, you will just have a long walk each time you want to go as the spa as it's in the front of the ship.

Assuming it didn't cost much more, i would still rather have this balcony over an ocean view.

    Hope that helps!

    -Matt
