The Carnival rep said I would have to pay 75% of the ticket cost for the name change. Not a penalty of 75% then my moms fare on top of it. Just trying to see if there are other solutions...

My DH may not be able to go on our cruise this November. I can take my mom but in a week the penalty goes up to 75% of the ticket cost. My DH probably won’t know until then whether he can go.
Any ideas out there? TIA.

I'm taking my mom(turning 80) and my sister on a cruise. I just booked a cabana on Princess Cay and now read a review that it doesn't access the beach without climbing down a rocky bank. Please give me your reviews. Thanks!

GranysT, so glad that you survived Irma. Being without power and A/C is miserable, especially in Florida. [emoji1317]

Saying prayers for you and your family!

Sorry about everyone getting sick, especially your son. I'm praying that Irma is not going to be as bad as predicted. Please keep us posted and stay safe!

I agree! Cruise Critic members have been an invaluable resource and my family cruises has benefited from all the information and insights given. [emoji106]🏻

Hmmm...guess it changed and I didn't notice because the last few trips I have had my own. I could swear at one point it was the combo.

I just noticed that "Exclusively" is spelled wrong on both shampoo and body wash labels in the photo. Yikes![emoji12]

If you do order room service, bring some singles for a tip. I would tip 2-3 dollars but I order more than just coffee, like pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt. Write it up the night before, indicate what time in the morning you want it delivered, hang the card on the front of your door and have the tip set out. The next morning you can enjoy a little coffee and snack then go get a full bfast at the buffet or in the MDR (main dining room). We do this almost everyday.
Have a great cruise!!

I like to keep a journal, detailing the day, what I ate, experiences and it's fun to read even years later. If you are on a ship with an Alchemy Bar, ask about the Mixologist class. The class won't be listed in the Fun Times, you need to ask, like the first day. It's usually held the last sea day around 2pm. The bartender educates about the way to mix drinks and you get to help out. I think it was $20 per person, about 2 hours long and lots of samples[emoji3]. The small group that does this is usually chatty.
On a healthier note, walk around the track on deck. I've had lots of great chats with fellow walkers.
I've enjoyed the 3 pm tea time and chatted with lots of people.
Work out at the gym! Even if there's no chatting, it's good for endorphins [emoji106]🏻

Our girls were 5 & 7 when we said we were visiting friends in Florida so we drove down spent the night with our friends. Next morning, we said we were going to the beach so we pulled shorts and t shirts over our swim suits and headed to the beach. We had brought our luggage in the back of our car and they didn't notice. We pulled into port and pointed out the ship to them and said "want to go on a cruise today?" Which we did. They looked like they didn't quite understand what was going on but when we walked on board it became real to them.
Good luck on your surprise and have a wonderful cruise!

I drink 16 ounces of water first thing in the morning before I eat or drink anything. Get a bunch of bottles of water through Carnival ( I think it's $4.99 for 12) have one ready at the side of your bed and drink it first thing in the morning. You need water, it ups your metabolism and helps alleviate some of the over-indulging in alcoholic drinks.
Give it a shot! Have a great cruise [emoji16]

Sounds like you had an enjoyable time. We are taking Grand kids on Liberty in August on four nighter to Nassau and Princess Cay.
Hope you write a review mrpayroll! I'm cruising on Liberty with that itinerary as well in May. Love to hear your thoughts, especially about Princess Cay. Thx!

I have brought individual cans of different types of juice, so I think different soda would be ok. Just make sure to have it in your carry on.

Great review! Making me hungry and ready to go on our Tday cruise on Conquest[emoji16]!

If you dine at the Steakhouse the first night, you get a bottle of red or white free. I've heard another option instead of the free bottle is that you can buy a bottle of "better" wine for half price. You can make reservations for the Steakhouse through Manage My Cruise on Carnival's website.

Yay!!! Does he know you are traveling to Fort Lauderdale? Maybe that would be enough info to keep him happy[emoji16]and the cruise would be the big "reveal"[emoji924]

HMC is tendered, GT is docked. I always get FTTF but if you have an excursion booked through Carnival then you get on the early tenders anyway. Any other ports?
Oops, I did it again

Commander’s Palace was a wonderful treat! My family had a memorable Christmas Eve dinner there. Ditto about the muffuletta and Cafe du Monde. I’m ready to go to New Orleans again[emoji16]
