  1. we have our first MSC cruise on the Seascape on the 27th of this month in Yacht Club and I am starting to get concerned about all the negatives. We chose YC for a higher level of service, ability to hang by the pool with the kids without the stress of worrying about getting lounge chairs and great food. Are "interlopers" really that intrusive? Im worried we are going to be disappointed. We are pretty easy going people but we are also have a certain expectation based off of what we are paying for and whats advertised.

  2. Sorry, we have never sailed MSC before so I apologize for the question- if we are sailing in YC, we cannot just order any drink from any bar? I was under the assumption that having the beverage package included was ship wide and not just in the YC.

  3. Hi All!

I am seriously considering trying MSC - most likely the Seascape and would do the Yacht Club. We have 2 kids, ages 4 and 8 and we usually sail Royal but to be honest, Im just feeling "over it". Between the price increases and food going downhill plus the cost of the drink packages we are looking elsewhere. Anyone have any comparisons or have cruised with smaller kids? We love having a suite for the space and the amenities, but I also want to make sure the Yacht Club is appropriate for kids (not adults only pool, etc). Any help is appreciated!! We are so apprehensive about jumping to another line!

Breakfast was a joke this morning. At 8:45 the wait for the Windjammer was at least an hour. The line for deck three breakfast wrapped twice around the elevator banks. I saw the hotel director at the top tier event and asked about the long wait. His response, "We didn't have any problem I was aware of".

This is definitely a concern for us. We cruise Sunday with our 2 kids. I can understand it’s crowded but this makes it near impossible. One of the reasons we love cruising with our kids is the ease and accessibility to everything.

I don’t know about whether more will open up. But I’m going on Oasis July 15, and most of our excursions are sold out, too. There were more available when I booked a few weeks ago, so they filled up fast. I’m guessing they had based tour availability on the lower capacity sailings—and suddenly all of their cruises are selling out at or near capacity. Will they add more tour groups to account for the higher passenger counts? Maybe?? But I guess that depends on the capacity of the tour vendors, as well. Do they have enough employees/resources available to offer additional tour groups to the cruiselines?

Right...with capacities going up, have they taken this into account. Not to mention many of the excursions have age restrictions which excludes us as well.

  6. We just booked the Oasis 5/29 cruise. I looked at the cruise planner and so many of the things we were looking for are saying sold out. Does anyone know if things will open up further once on the ship? I thought I was being proactive and planning as soon as we booked but seems to be no such luck. We are traveling with our 7 and 4 year old so we had certain things in mind.

At the port and for the on-board test for the return, we were not able to actually take the sample.  In both instances, my wife was with him and knelt down next to him to comfort him, but the testing company employees/contractors were the ones actually taking the sample.

Our 4 year old was not happy when the nurse first came toward him, but we were just straightforward with him explaining that it was a quick thing he had to do, or he would not be able to get on the ship.  He calmed down quickly and took the test after that.

Gotcha! Thanks. Im so nervous about her randomly testing positive but we are going to just go with it.

  8. Hi everyone! I know this topic has been discussed a million times, but I can’t seem to find the answers I’m looking for. We are thinking of taking our 2 kids 7 and 3 on oasis at the end of May. Our 7 year old is vaccinated but obviously our 3 year old isn’t. How is she tested mid week? Do we just bring her down to the medical center? Can I administer the test myself? I can’t lie…I’m nervous about her testing asymptomatically positive.  Also, does anyone know if the kids clubs are open and running??

Very few dressed up last week and last week it was 3 and 6 , that was St Thomas and St Maarten.

My husband typically wears a suit and tie on these nights. Do you feel like things have changed and a full suit isn’t needed?

I'm curious--will they test ALL passengers or just those officially getting off in St. Maarten?

I assume just those getting off due to cost.

Mom & I booked an excursion in St. Maarten but she said let's just stay on the ship so we don't have to get that damn swab up our noses!

I wonder how many others will think the same thing...

We aren’t getting off at any port when we go in 2 weeks. There are just too many unknowns and we aren’t “tour” people. With the last year and half we had, we are perfectly happy to stay on the ship and relax

  11. Hi! We are sailing on 7/24 and are looking forward to doing a lot of specialty dining since we will be without the kids for the first time. Can someone tell me if you are able to get reservations once on board? We just booked this past weekend and I went online to try and book dining but it says nothing is available. Im really hoping its just an online thing and we can get reservations a few times (including magic carpet)

  12. We are on that sailing. We have always vacationed with our kids but with our kids being 6 and 2 we are leaving them home because we will that our 2 year old will not comply with the mask policy and it will cause issues; Otherwise we would have brought them. I will say I’m not sure how many kids will be on board for the kids club, as some others have said there are only a handful of kids on these first few sailings. But we absolutely bring our kids with us on celebrity and it always worked out well.

  13. Thanks. We have cruised with both our kids before on both Celebrity and RCCL, but with things being different, we are on the fence. We haven't left them yet so its a big jump for us, but we will most likely be going just us. My brain is all over the place with planning this one- suite? Aqua class? none of the above and do speciality restaurants? lol

  14. My husband and I are most likely going to book the Edge for the end of this month- we are contemplating going alone (first vacay without the kids) or bringing our kids (ages 2 and 6). Can anyone tell me if there were younger kids on board? If so, (and not to get into a debate) how was the mask policy for younger kids? We are weighing the options and the stress of them wearing masks and not having playmates in the kids club etc. vs. leaving them home. Thanks!!

  15. Hi All! Question about Coastal Kitchen. We are thinking about booking a suite on the Anthem. Do the menus change in Coastal Kitchen? I don't know if we would want the same 1 or 2 menus each night. Also, I know food is super subjective, however any opinions would be great.

  16. We did it when our son is 18 months and now again he is 3 and I’m pregnant. It was great! We brought our own pack and play because I get weirded out by germs lol. Tip is to have a great umbrella stroller that reclines for naps. We found eating in the dining room for breakfast and lunch was easier than the buffet; that way one of us doesn’t have to sit at the table with the little one while the other gets all the food. It’s nice to have everything in one place and not have to worry about being far from the room
